Abstract

Sunni or Sunnism stands for Ahlu As-Sunnah wa al-Jamā`ah which is also called ASWAJA. Many people publish and debate it without clear meaning and reference. This article is a demonstrative-linguistic study that outlines the meaning and reference to the term "Sunni" to understand it clearly. This research shows that Sunnis have at least two groups. First, Sunni Ahlu Al- Ḥadīts, the path of Ibn Hanbal and Ibn Taimiyyah, which tends to be puritan and at some point raises hardline intolerant Muslims. Second, moderate Sunnis, who opened the space for fiqh schools other than Ibn Hanbal, and chooses to refer to moderate Islamic thinkers, such as Ash-Shāfi'i in fiqh (Islamic law), Al-Asy`ari in kalam (Islamic theology) and Al -Ghazali in Sufism (Islamic mysticism). The two Sunni groups were both Ahlu as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā`ah. The first group tends to embody the phrase Ahlu as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā'ah terminologically (iṣṭilāḥan), while the second group tends to display the phrase linguistically (lughatan). AbstrakSunni atau Sunnisme adalah singkatan dari Ahlu As-Sunnah wa al-Jamā`ah yang disebut juga dengan ASWAJA. Banyak orang yang mempublikasikan dan memperdebatkannya tanpa makna dan acuan jelas. Artikel ini adalah kajian demonstratif-linguistik yang mengurai makna dan acuan term “Sunni” untuk mengetahuinya secara jelas. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa Sunni sedikitnya ada dua kelompok. Pertama, Sunni Ahlu Al-Ḥadīts jalur Ibn Hanbal dan Ibn Taimiyyah, yang cenderung puritan dan pada titik tertentu memunculkan muslim-muslim garis keras yang tidak toleran. Kedua, Sunni moderat, yang membuka ruang bagi madzhab fikih selain Ibn Hanbal, dan memilih merujuk pada para pemikir Islam moderat, seperti Asy-Syafi`i dalam fikih (hukum Islam), Al-Asy`ari dalam kalam (teologi Islam) dan Al-Ghazali dalam tasawuf (mistisisme Islam). Dua kelompok Sunni tersebut sama-sama Ahlu as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā`ah. Kelompok pertama cenderung mengejawantahkan frase Ahlu as-Sunnah wa al-Jamā`ah secara terminologis (iṣṭilāḥan), sementara kelompok kedua cenderung menampilkan frase tersebut secara linguistik (lughatan).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of panca jiwa (five spirit) of Agro Nur El Falah Islamic boarding school in Salatiga. The data is collected through observation, interview and document. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this studies are; that the concept of the panca jiwa of the pesantren includes sincerity, self-awareness, simplicity, exemplary, compassion, which is contained in the values of Indonesian character education: hard work, religious, honest, disciplined, independent, curiosity, creative, respect for achievement, social care, responsible, democratic, caring for the environment, peace-loving, friendly or communicative, and tolerant. Panca Jiwa are the guidelines in the daily activities of the students in this pesantren. It has been conveyed by the guardian of pesantren in ceremonies, public lectures, MOS, and others. In fact, there are still many students who make fun of their friends, fight, steal belongings of friends, avoid school, violate regulations, and even commit serious violations which result in being expelled from pesantren. There are several factors that may hinder the implementation of panca jiwa, such as the lack of cooperation between the teachers in supervising the students, the lack of activities that can make the students become families to each other, the infrastructure is damaged and not immediately handled and also their personalities at home. There must be real examples from both teachers and senior santri (students) about how to behave based on panca jiwa. Therefore, cooperation from teachers is needed to be more diligent in directing, guiding, educating and supervising the students to achieve the desired goals in accordance with the vision and mission of this pesantren

Abstract

This article examines the root of intersection between the study of Sufism and Hadith through the interaction between Sufis with the Hadis Transmitters (Ahl al-Hadis). A historical approach used in this research. The result founded that some early Sufis identified as active and credible transmitters of Hadis. Early Sufis generations already applied the exoteric views or irfani perspective toward understanding the Hadis. This view is a pillar for them to get the significance of the Prophetic traditions. It stated that early Sufis make the Prophet attitude as an ideal model for them. The research also founded that the Sufi’s interactions with the Transmitters are considered as a dialogical interaction between them. These interactions historically confirmed in the middle of the second century of hijriyah, for example, Ibnu Mubarak (118 H.), and the third century of hijriyah,  al-Muhasibi (243 H) and Zun an-Nun al-Misri (245 H).* * *Artikel ini mengkaji akar persinggungan antara kajian Tasawuf dan Hadis melalui pola interaksi para Sufi dengan perawi Hadis (Ahl al-Hadis). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan historis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa sufi awal yang diidentifikasi sebagai perawi aktif dan kredibel dari Hadis. Sufi generasi awal sudah menerapkan pandangan eksoteris atau perspektif irfani terhadap pemahaman Hadis. Pandangan ini merupakan hal yang penting bagi mereka untuk mendapatkan hakikat makna hadis Nabi. Sufi awal selalu menjadikan Nabi sebagai model ideal untuk mereka. Gambaran interaksi Sufi dengan perawi dianggap sebagai interaksi dialogis antara keduanya. Interaksi ini secara historis terjadi pada pertengahan abad kedua hijriyah, terutama di zaman Ibnu Mubarak (118 H.), dan pada abad ketiga hijriyah, di era al-Muhasibi (243 H) dan Zun an-Nun al-Misri (245 H).

Abstract

The use of hermeneutics in understanding the Qur'an is confronted with controversies in disclosure, revolving around hermeneutic historicity, hermeneutic dissimilarities with interpretation, differences in the character of the Qur'an and the Bible, subjectivity and relativity of interpretation, reproduction of meaning and contextuality, not in detail, and not procedural. For groups who consider strengths and weaknesses in the interpretation of the Koran actually has the same purpose, namely to explain the purpose and message of the Qur'an as religious texts as a guide to human beings that is appropriate at every time and place. For those who are considered media interpreters of the Koran trying to elaborate the teachings of the Koran according to its context as a strength. Whereas those who consider hermeneutic weaknesses as a means of interpretation of religious texts feel obliged to apply the Qur'an in the lives of Muslims throughout time, which have been understood literally by the ulama and maintain the genuine and very established methods that have been formulated by Salafus shâlih namely interpretation and takwil methods that cannot be matched with hermeneutics. When accepting a new method, Muslims must be able to be wise to see strengths and weaknesses as a means of interpreting religious texts, not rejecting blindly and also not accepting as a whole, selective attitude is very necessary. Hermeneutics is accepted as a method of interpretation aimed at living the world of texts which nuances of the past with the empirical world today, so that it can answer all the problems that occur in the midst of society, by paying attention to the interpretation methods that have been formulated by scholars with compromise. Keywords: Hermeneutics, Religious texts, Accept and reject, compromise

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know about the conflict in family life, especially in family that the husband merried again (poligamy). Then patience poligamy wife is very interesting to research. This research used qualitative research methods. This research was done in Mojokerto by using the method of observation and interviews. Based on this study it can be explained that poligamy wives patience can be grouped into two reasons, namely the worldly reason, and the eschatological matters reason. The worldly reason include biological, economic, and social. Whereas eschatological matters include factors faith and worship.* * *Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih jauh konflik yang terjadi dalam kehidupan berumah tangga khususnya keluarga yang suami menikah lagi (poligami). Maka kesabaran istri yang dipoligami sangat menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Mojokerto dengan menggunakan cara pengambilan subyek secara purposive sampling, dan dalam menperoleh data menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat dijelaskan bahwa kesabaran istri yang dipoligami dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua alasan, yakni alasan duniawi dan alasan ukhrowi. Alasan duniawi ini meliputi faktor biologis, ekonomi, dan sosial. Sedangkan ukhrowi meliputi faktor keimanan, dan ibadah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan manganalisis tentang: Internal locus of control, self-efficacy, self-esteem dan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang. Dalam penelitian ini, analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif deskriptif  untuk menganalisis internal locus of control, self-efficacy, self-esteem dan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI. sedangkan untuk menganalisis pengaruh internal locus of control, self-efficacy, self-esteem terhadap prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang digunakan analisis regresi. Dari hasil analisis penelitian ini didapatkan beberapa temuan: pertama, ada pengaruh negatif yang tidak signifikan antara internal locus of control dengan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang. Persamaan garis regresinya adalah Y`=73.138-0,720X, nilai sig 0,1020,05. Besarnya pengaruh internal locus of control terhadap prokrastinasi akademik 0,328, dengan kontribusi sebesar 10,7%. Kedua, Ada pengaruh negatif yang signifikan self-efficacy terhadap prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang, dengan persamaan regresi Y`=75.179-0,552X, dan nilai sig 0,0070,05. Besarnya pengaruh sebesar 0,328. dan kontribusinya sebesar 10,8%. Ketiga, ada pengaruh negatif yang signifikan self-esteem terhadap prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang dengan nilai sig 0,0360,05, dan persamaan regresinya Y`=82,794-0,490X, dengan besar pengaruh 0,414, dengan kontribusi sebesar 17,1%. Keempat, ada pengaruh negatif dan signifikan antara internal locus of control, self-efficacy, self-esteem secara bersama-sama dengan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa PAI FITK UIN Walisongo Semarang, dengan persamaan regresi Y`=119,552-0,649X1-0,423X2-0,273X3 dan nilai sig 0,0070,05. Pengaruhnya sebesar 0,641, dengan kontribusi sebesar 41%. Sisanya sebesar 59% ditentukan faktor lain.

Abstract

This research aims to explain about how the realization of multi track diplomacy on the role of “1000 Abrahamic Circles Projects” as the main concept idea in creating ideals of peace between religious communities in the world. In order to create harmony between religious communities in the world, especially in the three Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christian, and Jews). It is necessary to have a concept idea as a bridge to uniting different views because of their diversity in beliefs. This phenomena become the moral responsibility of Indonesia as the largest Muslim majority country in the world to participate in achieving peace. According to Dino Pati Djalal as the founder of Foreign Policy of Community of Indonesia and the initiator of “1000 Abrahamic Circles Projects”, the tension and negativity between each of adherents the religion is higher. So, that we need a program that targeting the grassroots as a basic aspect of nature forming a change of thought in adherent overall. This diplomacy step taken by Dino represented individually through NGOs that Indonesia’s identity as a Muslim majority country which was quite tolerant in dealing with religious communities and concerned in the process of creating world peace by offering various strategies and diplomacy. In addition, as a Muslim, he initiated a form of diplomacy conducted by his NGOs as an arbitrator to overcome these problems. This paper will analyze one of the types of diplomacy realization carried out by a non-state actor and aims to create world peace, especially among the three religious communities with interesting ideas, “1000 Abrahamic Circles Projects” where in each circle will be facilitated by a trained interfaith dialogue facilitator and local guide so the process of improving relations is not just delivering speeches on certain stages, but should be begin by getting to know each other.

Abstract

The relationship between Islam and Javanese culture can be said to be two sides of an inseparable currency. On the one hand, Islam that came and developed in Java is influenced by Javanese culture or culture, while on the other hand, Javanese culture is increasingly enriched by Islamic customs. It makes the fusion between Javanese and Islamic culture stronger to form interrelation, especially in education and economics, a fundamental aspect of human life. Research based on this reference study needs to be done because there has not been any other research that discusses the interrelation of Javanese and Islamic values in the aspects of education and economics in detail. This study uses a qualitative approach to library studies to find, sort, and search for reference sources from ISBN books, national journal articles, and other reference sources to strengthen the analysis. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results showed that Islam and Javanese culture have an inseparable relationship. Islamic acculturation with Javanese culture is to implement Islamic sharia with Javanese cultural packaging. The interrelation of Javanese and Islamic values in Education, namely the emergence of pesantren education and da'wah, was conducted by Walisongo to spread religion in the archipelago by combining Javanese and Islamic cultures Shariah. Interrelation Javanese and Islamic values in the economic aspect that is people identify themselves as people who uphold the noble and cultural qualities that they have both geographically and anthropologically, with the economic principles of Javanese people are noble.

Abstract

This paper aims to change the radical paradigm based on the verses of the Quran. Religion or verses of Quran often becomes a tool of legitimacy or justification of acts of violence. This research uses the methods of library research. From this research it is achieved that religious radicalism caused by the first war verses, often made up of legitimacy of violence and terrorism in Islam, the second, understanding the Jihad verses translated the war against the enemies of Islam, so that acts of violence against everything that was considered an enemy of Islam is the glorious JihadKeywords: radicalism, religion, violent ideological verses Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk merubah paradigma radikal berdasarkan ayat-ayat Al-Quran. Agama atau ayat-ayat al-Qur’an sering menjadi alat legitimasi atau pembenaran atas tindakan kekerasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa muculnya radikalisme agama disebabkan oleh pertama, ayat-ayat perang sering dijadikan legitimasi atas pro-kekerasan dan aksi terorisme dalam Islam., kedua, memahami  ayat-ayat Jihad diartikan perang melawan musuh Islam, sehingga tindakan kekerasan terhadap segala sesuatu yang dianggap musuh Islam merupakan Jihad yang mulia Kata kunci: Radikalisme, Agama, Ayat-ayat Ideologi kekerasan

Abstract

The damage of overpopulation gives a warning toward ecological issue. The massive number of human population could not be defined as an advantage at all, moreover with the imbalance of development and migration. Every human being are consuming and taking space for living. Lessons from many ecological disasters have been occurred across the globe. Some scholars are addressing religion as one of the source toward the ecological crisis. Meanwhile some other are distinguishing between world religion and indigenous religion and accusing world religion as the problem toward ecological crisis, and indigenous religion is a way closer and attach to the nature. This paper will study the overpopulation of human and it’s impact toward ecological suicide. In addition, religion in this context, will be analyzed whether it has a role, either as trigger, booster (religious justification), or solution. By using literature study and descriptive analysis, this paper is presenting the overview of religions role toward ecological crisis to give insight on how to understanding and practicing religion to make sure the demography bonus doesn’t led to overpopulation and gives bad impact toward ecological suicide.
