Abstract

This research has the aim to analyze the relationship of nutritional status, knowledge, body temperature with fluid intake in pregnant women in West Jakarta. This study design used a cross sectional approach, with number of subjects 84 pregnant women in West Jakarta. Sampling using a purposive sampling method. The nutritional status of pregnant women was obtained based on the weight record before pregnancy. Subject knowledge and fluid intake were obtained by interview with questionnaire. The subject's body temperature was measured with a digital thermometer. Analysis of the relationship between nutritional status, knowledge, and body temperature with fluid intake using the Spearman test. Based on the test of the relationship of nutritional status with fluid intake, the value of p = 0,002 was obtained. Analysis of the relationship of knowledge with fluid intake obtained p = 0,022 and the relationship between body temperature and fluid intake obtained p = 0,089. The conclusion that can be obtained is that there is a relationship between, nutritional status, knowledge with fluid intake, and  body temperature has no relationship with fluid intake.

Abstract

This research aimed to get information about factors related to the incidence of stunting in adolescent. The method used was a cross sectional study. The target population in this study were school students who attended education at the Setia Negara Junior High School. The sample consisted of students in grades VII and VIII. Determination of the sample is done by taking all students in class VII and VIII, researchers exclude students in class VII and VIII who are not willing to be respondents. The total sample of the designation was 165 people. Samples of this research were 165 respondents in Setia Negara Junior High School. This study used a statistical test Chi-Square with significance (p0,05). Of the 165 samples, consist of 26 adolescents (15,8%) stunting status, 139 adolescents (84,2%) normal status. Statistical showed that the relationship between knowledge (p=0,000), education of father (p=0,000), education of mother (p=0,000) and family size (p=0,02) with stunting. Sex and protein intake did not have a significant relationship with stunting.

Abstract

Avocado is a fruit that high unsaturated fatty acid, while coconut water is fluid which has high potassium. The objective of this study was to assess the formulation of avocado juice with coconut water that could potentially reduce hypertension. The design of the study was an experimental with the degree of subsititution of coconut water as treatments. There were 3 kinds of treatment, i.e. F1 (75% avocado and 25% coconut water), F2 (50% avocado and 50% coconut water), F3 (25% avocado and 75% coconut water) and F0 (without coconut water but using water). Avocado juice product with 75% avocado substitution and 25% coconut water (F1) was a best formula determined by the hedonic test. This formula contained 68,48% (%w/w) water, 3,12% (%w/w) ash content, 4,45% (%w/w) fat content, 1,76% (%w/w) protein content, 21,07% (%w/w) carbohydrate content, 2163,8 (mg/kg) potassium content, 9,20% (%w/w) linoleic acid content, 1,11% (%w/w) linolenic acid content and 42,4% (%w/w) of total unsaturated fatty acid. This product could potentially reduce and prevent hypertension, because in one serving size (200cc) contain 432,76 mg of potassium (claim source of potassium).

Abstract

The lack of utilization of local food one of which is kimpul (Xanthosomasagittifolium). Processed into flour is one of the methods for kimpul so it can be utilized into various food products such as cake. Kimpul has no gluten content such as wheat flour so it affects the expansion level and sensory preferences of the cake.The purpose of this study was toknow the relation of substitution ofkimpulflour to the expansion level and sensory preferences of cake. This research isusing an experimental study. The object used in this research is cake with 0%; 12.5%; 25%; 37.5% substitution of kimpul flour. Panelists used in this study were 33 panelists. What is assessed are the expansion level of cake from each substitution and the sensory preferences includes color, aroma, taste, texture and overall by the panelists. The analysis of the expansion level of cake by substitution of kimpul flour was done using one way Anova test, while for the sensory preferences using Friedman test and Duncan test.This study shows the best cake cultivation rate is cake with  12.5% of kimpul flour substitution with an average of 88.56% followed by cake with 25% of kimpul flour substitution with an average of 85.82%. In the overall sensory preferences test,most of panelists prefercake with 0% of kimpul flour substitution and followed by cake with 12.5% of kimpul flour substitution. This study can be concluded thatthere are no effects ofkimpul flour substitution on the expansion level of the cake, and there are effects of kimpul flour substitution on the sensory preferences test of the cake.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the association between anthropometric assessments and total cholesterol levels among adult women. The research design was cross sectional study with purposive sampling methode involving 92 adult women in Sambirejo village, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java. Anthropometric assessments consisted of BMI, waist circumference, and waist-hip ratio. Data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate using Pearson Product Moment. Bivariate analysis was performed by the correlation of anthropometric assessment with total cholesterol levels. The results showed that 15.2% subjects were overweight and 54.1% subjects had obesity. There were 80,4 % subjects had waist circumference 80 cm and 71,7% subjects had waist-hip ratio ≥0,85. Subjects with cholesterol levels 200 mg / dL were 31,5 %. The BMI and waist circumference had no correlation to total cholesterol level. The waist-hip ratio had a significant correlation to cholesterol level. The conclusion of this study was waist-hip ratio in women related to high total cholesterol level.Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan penilaian antropometri dengan kadar kolesterol total pada wanita dewasa. Desain penelitian adalah studi potong lintang dengan melibatkan sebanyak 92 orang wanita dewasa. Sampel dipilih secara purposive sampling di desa Sambirejo Kecamatan Mantingan Kabupaten Ngawi Jawa Timur. Penilaian antropometri yang dilakukan meliputi IMT, lingkar pinggang dan rasio lingkar pinggang-pinggul. Analisis data terdiri atas univariat dan bivariat  melalui uji Pearson Product Moment untuk melihat korelasi hasil penilaian antropometri dengan kadar kolesterol total. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 15,2% dan 54,1% subjek memiliki status gizi lebih dan obesitas. Sebanyak 80,4 % memiliki lingkar pinggang 80 cm dan sebanyak 71,7% memiliki rasio lingkar pinggang dan pinggul ≥0,85. Subjek dengan kadar kolesterol  200 mg/dL sebanyak 31,5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa IMT dan lingkar pinggang tidak berkaitan dengan kadar kolesterol total. Rasio lingkar pinggang-pinggul berhubungan signifikan (p-value=0,29; r=0,227) dengan kadar kolesterol. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah rasio lingkar pinggang-pinggul pada wanita berkaitan dengan tingginya kadar kolesterol total.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the relation between energy intake and waist circumference with the risk of T2DM. It was an observational study with a cross-sectional design using secondary data (ethical number, 476/KEP-UNISA/V/2018). Sample collected by simple random sampling. The minimum sample size was calculated using the Fisher formula. In this study, obtained 67 sample with inclusion criteria were not taking drugs to lower blood glucose levels. The independent variable in this study was T2DM risk, while the dependent variable was diet and waist circumference. The normality test of data used Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The Spearman correlation analysis used for knowing the relation between energy intake and waist circumference with blood glucose. The result showed that there was no relation between energy intake and blood glucose (r=0.19; p=0.12). There was no relation between waist circumference and blood glucose (r=0,18; p=0,16). There were 91 % of subjects having a high risk of T2DM and 52.2 % of subjects having a high total cholesterol. There is no relation either energy intake or waist circumference and blood glucose. Almost all subjects have high risk in T2DM.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relation between physical activity, sleep duration, breakfast habits and fast food consumption habits at school-age chidren. This is a quantitative study using cross sectional design. The study was conducted in SDS Kartika VIII-5 Jakarta, as many as 102 fourth and fifth grade students were involved. The sampling technique used for this study was stratified sampling technique. The data collection instrument used questionnaire and interview. The data obtained were then analyzed by Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that 63,7% of children were overweight. Bivariate result using Chi-Square statistical test showed that a significant relationship between physical activity (p = 0,003), sleep duration (p = 0,046), fast food habits (p = 0,035). There was a significant relation between physical activity, sleep duration, and fast food consumption habits with the prevalence of overweight.

Abstract

The enhancement of WHR value which is one of abdominal obesity predictor is usually correlated with the rise of chronic disease risks because its relations with the metabolic syndrome. Dietary intake and energy expenditure factors may have the important role of balance energy that can increase WHR value. The aim of this study is to analyze correlation of energy expenditure, energy and fiber intake with waist hip ratio (WHR) of officers. This cross-sectional study was taken place at PT. Pertamina (Persero) Semarang with consecutive counted 55 sample. Energy and fiber intake was estimated by dietary food record 2 x 24 hour dan Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Quesionaire. While energy expenditure was counted by using form diary activity. Statistic correlation was calculated by Statistic Package for the Social Science (SPSS) for window. About 70,9% of total subject has abdominal obesity. The prevalence of abdominal obesity is higher in women (81,5%) than men (60,7%). The mean of energy intake is 2402.2 ± 319.68 Kcal. Obese subject has 7,2% higher energy intake than normal subject. About 40% subject has light energy expenditure category and 45,5% subject is belong to moderate energy expenditure category. About 96,4% subject has fiber intake less than 25 gram per day. The result of this study shows that energy intake has association with WHR(r = 0.455 ; p = 0.000). Fiber intake is inversely associated with WHR(r = -0.382 ; p = 0.004). Energy expenditure also has negative association with WHR(r = -0.268 ; p = 0.048). There are significantly correlation of energy expenditure, energy and fiber intake with WHR.

Abstract

Kelor is one of the vegetables with high nutrients contents but haven’t been widely utilized. Adding kelor leaves flour to the crackers made with catfish flour to increase protein and minerals is one way to maximize the potential of its nutrient content. This research purposed to develop the formulation of crackers by adding kelor leaves flour and catfish dumbo flour as a food source of protein and minerals. Kelor leaves flour obtained from this research contains protein, calcium, iron, and zinc respectively for 23.25%, 640.5 mg/100g, 30.6 mg/100g, and 6.65 mg/100g. The best formula chosen from organoleptic was is crackers with the addition 10% catfish dumbo flour and 2.5 g kelor leaves flour. The crackers contain 11.50% protein, 30.73 mg/100g calcium, 8.56 mg/100g iron, and 609.70 mg/100g zinc respectively. Selected crackers contain more than 20% protein and more than 15% of iron and zinc standart for 2-5 years old children group based on nutrition label reference (ALG, for Indonesian), so it can be claimed as a food source of protein, iron and zinc.

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze differences in food selection and factors related to adolescent girls in the urban and rural high schools. The sampling technique used is the sample size difference of 2 proportions. Data was collected by giving questionnaires to respondents which included food choices and its related factors such as social media, body image, nutritional knowledge, food labels, and peers. Body weight and height used to measure the anthropometric data. The statistical test used in this research was the t-test. There were no differences in food choices, use of social media, perception of actual body shape, perception of desired body shape, and perception of ideal body shape in urban and rural (p 0,05). There were differences in actual body shape with BMI, nutritional knowledge, understanding food labels , and peer influence in rural and urban (p 0,05). Found differences in perceptions of actual body shape with BMI, nutritional knowledge, understanding food labels, and peer influence in urban and rural areas. There were no differences in food choices, but there were differences in factors related.
