Abstract

Teachers use many methods to measure students' progress in learning Arabic, either by using a computer or manually. This study aimed to determine the level and comparison between student motivation to complete assignments using computer-based and paper-based test methods in Arabic language learning. This research used a quantitative approach with comparative descriptive by performing observation, questionnaire, and interview for data collection. It used data analysis methods, such as validity tests, reliability tests and percentage analysis. The research subjects were 23 tenth graders of Visual Communication Design of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Malang. The results of this study are: (1) the motivation of students to complete Arabic language assignments by computer-based test methods is 81.13% with high category. (2) The motivation of students to complete Arabic language assignments by paper-based test method is 83.82% with high category. (3) Comparison between the motivation of students to complete assignments using computer and paper-based test methods is 2.7% with low category. This difference is due to several factors, including human resource factors. This research has contributed to the Arabic language learning evaluation as it can be used as a teacher's consideration on what methods to use.

Abstract

The learning model is an essential element in the learning process. Many studies state that the Numbered Heads Together is a learning model that has proven effective in increasing student interest and learning outcomes in various materials. However, not much research has revealed the effectiveness of NHT in language learning, especially in Arabic. Therefore, the researchers want to explore the efficacy of the NHT learning model in improving Arabic learning outcomes on nahwu material. This study aims to explain the effectiveness of using the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model in enhancing learning outcomes of nahwu material. The research design used was the Experiment posttest-only control design. The sample divided into two classes was all second-grade students of KMI PP Khadimul Ummah Riau. The data collection method used tests, while the data analysis method used the t-test and SPSS 16. The results of the data analysis in this study were: (1) posttest on experimental class students with minimum value of 65, maximum value of 100, and mean of 83.00. The minimum posttest results for control class students were 53, the top score was 90, and the mean was 74.26. (2) The results of this study indicated that Sig. (2-tailed) from the Mann-Whitney Test was 0.003 <0.05. From these data, NHT cooperative learning significantly influences the learning outcomes of second-grade students at Khodimul Ummah Riau Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

The international class in the Islamic Education study program establishes Arabic as a language of instruction in its implementation of learning, yet not all students have good competences in Arabic. Therefore, Arabic learning is an additional program that is taught outside of regular class hours to practice Arabic skills. Thus, this study explained the implementation of the Arabic learning process in the Islamic Education Study Program in the international class carried out for the first semester students. This study used descriptive qualitative. Collecting data in this study was done by conducting observation and documentation based on Miles and Huberman's theory. Data analysis used in this study was based on the process of collecting data, data reduction, and conclusion. The study result shows that Arabic learning becomes one of the programs that helps students to master Arabic. The implementation of learning using Arabic as the language of instruction can be understood by the students and it even facilitates the communication between the students and the teacher to create a more active learning atmosphere.

Abstract

The use of Arabic learning media in Salafiyah Islamic boarding schools in Balangan Regency is considered infrequent, causing the necessity to develop learning media to be accepted and used. This research aims to create a model of a mind mapping-based card series of Kitab Mutammimah al-Ajurumiyyah for students' grammar learning at Salafiyah Islamic boarding schools. This development research using the ADDIE model comprises potential analysis, product design, product development, field implementation, and evaluation. According to the results of teachers

Abstract

The stigma of Arabic as a radical language affects motivation, leading to disinterest in Arabic. This study aims to find out the relationship between the stigmatization of Arabic radicalism-terrorism and religiosity and the motivation to learn Arabic among students of Muhammadiyah Mataram University (UMMAT). It uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlation. The results of the partial test show that there is no relationship between the stigmatization of Arabic radicalism and terrorism and learning motivation, and there is a positive and significant relationship between religiosity and learning motivation, but both have a significant influence on motivation to learn Arabic. The results of this study provide theoretical implications that the stigmatization of Arabic radicalism and terrorism cannot be a predictor of motivation to learn Arabic. At the same time, religiosity can predict motivation to learn Arabic. As for the practical implications, which is how to motivate students to learn Arabic, it can be used to overcome the stigmatization of radicalism and terrorism in Arabic with meaningful perceptions and by continuously internalizing religiosity.

Abstract

Until recently, few educational institutions have developed and integrated Arabic language learning curricula with LMS. This study aims to develop a proposed Learning Management System (LMS) program designed to enhance the Arabic proficiency of non-native speakers. It investigates the impact of this program on cognitive fulfilment and language advancement among non-native Arabic learners at the University of Darussalam Gontor, Indonesia. The researcher utilized a quasi-experimental and descriptive research approach, deemed most suitable for this study's nature. Data collection involved 80 students from the University of Darussalam Gontor, employing various tools such as tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The study yielded significant outcomes, including creating the proposed LMS, arabi.id. After completing the research, statistically significant improvements were observed in the experimental and control groups' listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, with a more substantial positive impact on the experimental group. Moreover, the experimental group's pretest and post-test results showed statistically significant differences in proficiency levels (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The study's findings suggest that non-native Arabic speakers can benefit from e-learning courses to enhance their language skills. Recommendations include implementing LMS-based Arabic instruction, encouraging instructors to integrate LMS into the Arabic teaching curriculum, and increasing the availability of Arabic educational websites.

Abstract

This research develops a Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)-based Arabic receptive proficiency test instrument at the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon. This study addresses the lack of international standard measures to test Arabic receptive competency, including listening and reading. This work created a CEFR-compliant test instrument that matches Arabic language specifics. The Research and Development (RnD) strategy using the ADDIE model
