Abstract

Physics instruction that relies solely on conventional learning models is one of the factors contributing to students’ low critical thinking skills. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model based on a Problem-Solving Strategy on the critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade students at State Senior High School 2 Merauke in the topic of particle motion dynamics. This quantitative study employed a quasi-experimental research method using a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of class XI-4 as the experimental group and class XI-6 as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. The research procedure comprised three main stages: the preparatory stage (problem identification, literature review, development of instructional modules, and construction and validation of research instruments), the implementation stage (administration of the pretest, implementation of the intervention, and administration of the posttest), and the final stage (data analysis and formulation of conclusions). This study adopted Facione’s indicators of critical thinking skills, based on their relevance and alignment with the operational definition of critical thinking employed in this research. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher percentage than the control class, demonstrating that the PBL model based on a Problem-Solving Strategy had a greater impact on improving critical thinking skills compared to conventional learning models.

Abstract

The transformation of digital learning in Indonesia necessitates the pedagogically integrated use of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Portal Rumah Belajar is a national LMS developed by the government to support digital learning in alignment with the national curriculum. This study aims to systematically examine the utilization of Portal Rumah Belajar as an LMS in the context of formal education through a literature review approach. Data were collected from journal articles, books, research reports, and official documents published between 2015 and 2025 and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The primary referenes used onsist of 15 articlesthat intensively examine the Portal Rumah Beljar. The findings indicate that Portal Rumah Belajar has the potential to enhance access to digital learning resources, support self-directed learning, and facilitate interaction and learning assessment. However, its utilization has not been fully optimized due to limitations in teachers’ digital pedagogical competence and insufficient integration of the platform into instructional planning. Therefore, optimizing Portal Rumah Belajar requires strengthening pedagogical design, institutional support, and sustainable utilization of its features.

Abstract

This article presents a conceptual review examining the potential of Sacha Inchi–based plant milk as an innovation in contextual learning to support scientific literacy and nutritional awareness. Drawing on pedagogical and educational technology perspectives, the review synthesizes literature on contextual learning, learning resources, scientific literacy, nutrition education, and food-based innovations. Scientific literacy is positioned as a conceptual construct that develops through learners’ engagement with meaningful real-life contexts rather than as a measurable instructional outcome. The synthesis highlights a pedagogical shift from content-centred learning to context-centred learning, in which every day phenomena function as learning resources that mediate conceptual understanding. Within this framework, Sacha Inchi–based plant milk is conceptualized as an authentic and interdisciplinary learning resource connecting science, nutrition, and sustainability. The review emphasizes the role of educational technology in organizing and integrating contextual learning resources through purposeful pedagogical design. Rather than evaluating instructional effectiveness, this article offers a theoretical framework to inform instructional design, curriculum development, and future research in contextual and technology-supported education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a 2D mindfulness meditation animation in enhancing students’ creativity at higher education institutions in Batam City through perceived perception. This study is considered important since mindfulness activities have been widely recognized for improving one’s ability to concentrate, reduce stress, and foster creativity, yet limited studies have explored its integration through digital animation media. The research applied a descriptive qualitative approach using the MDLC model, which consists six phases: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Data were gathered through open-ended interviews with 20 university students who watched the developed 2D animation, analyzed descriptively to explain participants’ perceptions and response. The results indicate that 65% of participants experienced better relaxation and focus, while 62% reported increased motivation for creative thinking after viewing the animation. The synchronized narration, soft pastel visuals, and calm pacing effectively supported mindfulness engagement, although the short duration limited deeper relaxation. The findings suggest that mindfulness-based animation can serve as an alternative learning medium to promote emotional balance and cognitive readiness. The novelty of this study lies in combining mindfulness practice and educational animation to enhance creativity among non-psychology students in Indonesia. These findings imply that the integration of mindfulness principles into interactive learning media can enrich educational innovation and mental well-being in higher education.

Abstract

Leadership is an ability or power in a person to lead and influence others in work, where the goal is to achieve the targets that have been determined. One of the leadership concepts in education is Ki Hadjar Dewantara's leadership. This leadership concept uses the among system where educators play a role: ing ngarso sung tulodho, ing madya mangun karso, and tut wuri handayani. This study aims to examine Ki Hadjar Dewantara's leadership in schools in depth through a literature review of 15 national journal articles published between 2021 and 2025.. The Results of the  literature review show that the principles proposed by Ki Hajar Dewantara remain relevant and important to be applied in the context of modern education in Indonesia. In the school element, Ki Hajar Dewantara placed the teacher as the central figure in the philosophy of education. A leader also cannot simply encourage and direct the behavior of its members to be in accordance with organizational values (tut wuri handayani), but the leader must also be able to provide a real example of how organizational values have been embedded in him (ing ngarsa sung tuladha). While setting an example, the leader must also communicate the values to his/her members, and motivate them to act in line with the values (ing madya mangun karsa). This study recommends the importance of leadership training for school principals and teachers to encourage the implementation of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's leadership to sustainably address the challenges of education in the modern era.

Abstract

The quality of vocational education is closely related to the effectiveness of school management and data-based governance. This study examines the effect of RMD, a regional education data management system, on the quality of public vocational schools in Bandar Lampung City. An explanatory quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected from 263 teachers selected through proportional random sampling across nine public vocational schools. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used to measure RMD utilization and school quality, and the data were analysed using prerequisite tests and simple linear regression. The results indicate that RMD utilization has a positive and statistically significant effect on education quality. The coefficient of determination shows that RMD explains 46.8% of the variance in school quality. These findings confirm that effective use of data management systems contributes substantially to planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes in vocational schools. Strengthening data utilization practices is therefore essential to support transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in vocational education.

Abstract

Astabrata, the ancient Javanese leadership philosophy rooted in Hindu traditions, has undergone significant semantic transformation from feudal leadership guidelines to a philosophical framework for contemporary counselor personality development. This study employs genealogical hermeneutics integrating Paul Ricoeur's three-stage textual interpretation to trace Astabrata's transformative dynamics across historical contexts: from classical religious-harmony contexts to feudal bureaucratic power structures, and finally to modern professional counselor development. Through textual genealogy tracking Kakawin Ramayana to Serat Rama Jarwa Macapat (Yasadipura I, 1822) to contemporary applications, this research identifies how eight principles (Indra, Yama, Surya, Candra, Bayu, Kuwera, Baruna, Brama) initially symbolizing ideal leader characteristics can be reinterpreted as representing essential counselor personality attributes. The study demonstrates that this genealogical transformation reflects an epistemological shift from hierarchical power paradigms toward individual care and empowerment paradigms. By integrating classical Javanese self-cultivation concepts (mawas diri, eling waspada, sangkan paraning dumadi) with contemporary counselor competency frameworks, this research contributes significantly to developing culturally-grounded Indonesian counselor education models that recognize personality development as foundational to professional competence. Practical implications include normative framework for counsellor education and philosophical grounding for competency formulation rooted in Javanese philosophy.

Abstract

Excessive workload imposed on teachers poses a significant threat to their mental health, leading to emotional exhaustion and a decline in psychological well-being. This phenomenon has the potential to trigger burnout (chronic work fatigue) that destructively impacts educational performance. This article aims to systematically review recent literature on the dynamics of the relationship between job demands and leadership support (job resources) on teacher burnout and performance levels. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining 12 reputable journal articles (national and international) from the 2021–2024 period. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) theoretical framework. The findings consistently show that excessive workload has a strong positive correlation with work stress and a decline in professionalism. However, these negative impacts can be significantly mitigated by certain leadership styles. Servant Leadership and Spiritual Leadership have been proven effective as moderating variables that enhance Quality of Work Life (QWL), job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, which in turn suppress turnover intention. Conclusion: Modern educational management must shift from a purely instructional approach to a humanistic approach that balances workload ratios with psychological support from leaders.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of organizational communication on the effectiveness of teachers’ teamwork at SMAN 4 Kundur, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province. Employing a quantitative approach, the study tests the hypothesis that effective organizational communication is positively and significantly correlated with improvements in teachers’ team effectiveness. Recent post-pandemic developments have required more adaptive and transparent communication patterns within school environments. While existing research gaps often emphasize linear communication processes, this study highlights the complexity of effective communication within the school ecosystem. The research adopts an associative research design with a quantitative approach, aimed at explaining the causal relationship or influence between the independent variable (organizational communication) and the dependent variable (teachers’ team effectiveness) through statistical hypothesis testing. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey administered to 40 teachers and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that organizational communication has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ team effectiveness at SMAN 4 Kundur, Karimun Regency. The main results demonstrate that open communication patterns, supported by effective formal and informal communication channels, directly enhance coordination, productivity, and the achievement of shared goals among teacher teams. From a managerial perspective, the findings suggest that school principals should optimize internal communication channels to strengthen collaborative team performance, particularly through the provision of interpersonal communication training for teachers.
