Abstract

Shield Metal arc welding (SMAW) is one of ways which are usually used for welding steel low carbon. The quality of the welding connection can be grouped by using pull testing, and Vickers method. This study aims to know the strength of pulling and hardness welding connection with the variation of electrodes and current. This study used carbon steel ST 40 with an electrode which is used E 6010 and E 7016 with the current variations 80 ampere, 90 ampere and 100 ampere. The result produced the result to the power of certainly drag out from a current of 80 a use electrodes 6010 was recorded at 34,92 kg / mm2. Of tensile strength with a current of 90 a shall be 37.43 kg / mm2 and tensile strength the use of a 100 a shall be 40,63. The force of attraction to the electrode 7016 is promoting the creation of ampere 80 is 33,11 kg / mm2, ampere 90 of tensile strength him it is the same 35,57 kg / mm2 while using ampere 100 of tensile strength that is produced is 37,76 kg / mm2. The difference between the value of the force of attraction for a current is 80 a 1,81 kg / mm2. A current of 90 a 1,86 kg / mm2 and with a current of 100 a 2,87 kg / mm2 for the material structure image on the fault of drag monitoring shows the material is ductile because the fault looks low and high.

Abstract

Development of technology shown rapid progress in various of structural applications especially on advanced of component in industry. Using of aluminum as a matrix on composite fabrication by addition ceramic as reinforcement is the better solution, for expected to improve the mechanical properties on materials-based composites. The process carried out was combining SiC particles with an aluminum (AA1100) as a matrix with variations number of rolling cycle’s: 2, 4 and 6 as direction. Preparation of SiC particles with transverse, cross section and mix variations through a hot working process with the technology of severe plastic deformation (SPD) using the method of repetitive press roll forming (RPRF). The results obtained was mechanical properties increased when the roll cycles high with mix of variations in the direction of SiC arrangement resulting in a wider distribution of SiC into the matrix AA1100. Rolled process by cycle 6 and the direction of the SiC mix resulted in higher hardness of 55.54 HV, tensile strength was 90.46 MPa, porosity 0.33% density 1.831 gr/cm3 and SiC distribution 23.19%. Increasing the number of rolling cycles, the thickness of the interface for the formed layer and the size of SiC particles will decrease due to SiC particles scattered in most aluminum matrices, which can increase the hardness value.

Abstract

Risk analysis aims to prevent the incompatibility of a system used in the testing process including the Boiler system. At the Labuan 2 Steam Power Plant (PLTU) 2, the Boiler component was declared "very often" to have a pipe leak. Failure Mode And Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a method used to analyze the risk of failure. This method is represented by calculating the value of RPN (Risk Priority Number) obtained from the results of the multiplication of S (severty), O (occurrence), and D (detection). The highest analysis results are shown at 480 (in the steam drum component in the form of abnormal steam and water level failure). The cause is human error. Next three levels below are (1) Economizer component, which is 360 causes of combustion side ash erosion, material lifetime, and economizer tube fibration; (2) super heater tube and re-heater tube components which are 320 due to Corrosion, Overheat Flyash erosion, Sub blower erosion, Welding error; and (3) Walltube which is 320 causes of overheating and sub blower erosion. The recommendation for the analysis of FMEA testing to predict mantenance is done by applying remaining life assessment after 8,000 hours / operational.

Abstract

In this modern era all human activities are still very dependent on non-renewable energy sources. Electricity is one of the most important needs for humans, starting from lighting, communication, transportation and other needs. Energy supplies, especially fossil energy, are increasingly depleted, therefore an alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly and abundant availability is needed. One alternative energy source is water energy, especially energy derived from Piko Hydro. With variations in valve openings installed on pelton turbines of 18ᵒ, 36ᵒ, 54ᵒ, 72ᵒ, and 90ᵒ analyzed using the experimental method to determine the efficiency of the pelton turbine system used to produce electrical power from the Piko Hydro system. The results of this study indicate that the highest power is produced with a 90ᵒ faucet opening where the Power is 3.96 Watts and the system efficiency is 14.56%.

Abstract

This research focus on the design of output voltage amplifier from MAP sensor. The purpose of this design research is to explain the process of designing and manufacturing and testing the voltage amplifier with Arduino Uno microcontroller and as a refinement of the previous tool which has been found but still using manual control. In addition, this research serves as a solution to the problems that researchers found in the field of vehicle performance began to decrease with the increasing age of vehicle usage. This type of research is level 3 research, researchers research and test to develop existing products. The object of this research is Toyota Avanza 1.3 G vehicle in 2010. Based on the research, it can be concluded that after adding the output voltage from the MAP sensor with variation of voltage addition of 0.3V, 0.5 V, and 0.7V, it can be concluded that there is an increase in power and torque significantly generated by the vehicle. The highest increase in power and torque occurs in the addition of MAP sensor output voltage of 0.5 V with a percentage increase of 85.87% and 28.4% when compared to power and torque without using a voltage amplifier on the MAP sensor output.

Abstract

Milkfish bones/chanos-chanos forsk (CCF) contain of 4% calcium, 3% phosphorus, and 32% protein. CCF is heated at certain temperatures (500-7000C) then can be turned into hydroxyapatite (HAp) as a biomaterial application. The selection of materials in accordance by HAp is aluminum (Al), magnesium (Mg) and titanium (Ti). Al is one of the non-ferrous metals with very wide applications. It has specific properties such as; being light weight, ductile and a lower melting point compared to many other common engineering materials. The combining some of metals by HAp, is a composite material term, which is currently the latest development for processing various elements of different materials. Processing of composite for multi-alloy materials, requires a complex process in resulting of products, both in terms of parameters and process variables. Self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS) is a relatively novel and simple method for making certain advanced composites and intermetallic compounds. The SHS method is very suitable to be used as a composite multi-alloy material processing because it has a series of processes capable of producing strong bonds between the elements combined, such as HAp, Al, Mg and Ti. The HAp material from milkfish bones was combined by several metal materials such as Al, Mg and Ti. The use of this material is expected to improve mechanical properties especially eliminating fragility in composite materials. Variation of composition on hybrid composites consist of 3 types: (hybrid composites). There are three combinations of compositions in hybrid composite manufacturing, namely: 80% HAp; 10% Al; 5% Mg; 5% Ti, 80% HAp; 10% Al; 5% Mg; 5% Cu and 80% HAp; 10% Al; 5% Mg; 5% SiC. Characterization carried out ware mechanical and microstructure to determine the properties of hybrid composites, from the values obtained can be recommended for biomaterial applications

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on changing the learning model in Indonesia, from conventional learning to virtual learning. This causes a high gap in practicum learning. Where practicum learning that was originally in the laboratory can be applied at home. The purpose of this study was to determine the need for practical learning media for students. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The research subjects were all UST PKK study program students. Determination of the sample through a purposive sampling of 77 respondents. The validity test of 31 statements about the instrument was declared valid. Meanwhile, all instruments were declared reliable with high reliability (0.705> 0.7). The total score averaged 87.35 which means it is highly expected. This result explained that the need for practical learning media using videos with clear instructions. So that further research needs to develop barcode-based e-job sheets according to the needs of learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic and the development of the digital generation era.
