Wahana-Bio is the a scientific Journal of Biology and its learning, published by the Program of Biology Education, Mathematics and Natural Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. This focuses on the delivery of information on the results of scientific research conducted by the internal and external academicians ULM especially in the field of Biology dan Biology Education. Journal "Wahana-Bio" covers all topics related to related to Biology (botany, zoology, microbiology, genetic, ecology, biotechnology, and related fields) and Biology Education (biology curriculum, teaching biology, instructional media, evaluation, and research and development). Published article published is the article the results of research, studies or critical and comprehensive scientific study on important issues and current job descriptions included in the journal. Wahana-Bio is the Journal of Biology and its learning, published by the Department of Biology Education, Mathematics and Natural Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Abstract

Learning is a basic process of formal education in a limited scope and can determine the quality of the next world of education. Based on the results of interviews, it is known that the activity and student learning outcomes on the concept of Environmental Change in the class are still relatively low. The research aims to improve the activities and learning outcomes of Class X PMIA 1 SMAN 3 Banjarmasin academic year 2016/2017 on the concept of Environmental Change, as well as describe student responses through the application of a combination of NHT and PBL type learning models in their learning. This Classroom Action Research consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The subjects of this study were all 36 students of class X PMIA 1 SMAN 3. The results showed: Student activity during the learning process from cycle I to cycle II increased from an average of 82.31 to 90.02 with a fixed category (good). Cognitive learning outcomes of students' products during the learning process increased, in the first cycle 38% to the second cycle to 92.5% of all students who achieved a score of 76. Cognitive learning outcomes during the learning process increased from the first cycle of 72.77 with a sufficient category good to 82.28, in the second cycle with good category. Student responses were positive, with details of 30% of students strongly agreeing, and 60% of students agreeing, while the negative response was 10%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the implementation of a scientific approach in the surrounding environment to build the students character of elementary school in Martapura, South Kalimantan. This type of research is quantitative research with survey method. The research population is all elementary school teachers in Martapura city. The research sample from 24 public teachers in 4 elementary schools who had implemented the 2013 curriculum. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observations. The questionnaire was used to measure the results of the implementation of the scientific approach in shaping the character of elementary school students. Observations by means of visiting class sampling were carried out on 4 elementary school teachers. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results of research on the implementation of a scientific approach to the surrounding environment in shaping the character of elementary school students averaged 82.53 with a good category. The results of observations on 4 teachers obtained an average score of 87.50 with a good category and the results of observations in 4 classes obtained an average score of student characters of 82.64 with a good category.

Abstract

Reproductive continuity is an important problem for humans and animals, but sometimes reproductive disorders occur which results in decreased reproductive capacity. Goat’s foot creeper leaves have active compounds that act as antioxidants. Antioxidant compounds can maintain reproductive function. This study aims to determine the effect of Goat’s foot creeper leaves on the spermatozoa concentration of white rats. Twenty white rats male (4-week-old) were treated with a completely randomized trial design. There were 4 treatment groups with 5 replications: (1) no treatment; (2) treatment with 750 mg goat’s foot creeper infusion per day; (3) treatment with 1500 mggfoot creeper leaves per day. All treatment groups were administered for 30 days orally. The results showed an increase in spermatozoa concentration of white rats.

Abstract

Pada Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan (CPL) matakuliah Botani Tumbuhan Rendah(BTR) diharapkan mahasiswa mampu secara kognitif dan sikap untuk menginternalisasi berbagai sikap ilmiah seperti  sikap ingin tahu, sikap respek terhadap fakta, sikap berpikir kritis, sikap penemuan, dan sikap ketekunan, sehingga perlu dilakukan pembaharuan pembelajaran yang dapat mengakomodasi hal tersebut. Aspek pembaharuan salah satunya adalah menilai kemampuan belajar peserta didik. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa mata kuliah BTR. Metode penelitian merupakan metode Survey. Data diperoleh melalui angket mengenai sikap ilmiah, observasi sikap ilmiah selama berlangsungnya pembelajaran (praktikum) serta menggunakan instrumen tes evaluasi hasil belajar untuk mengetahui ketercapaian hasil belajar kognitif. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan Uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang positif (r=1) antara jenis kelamin dengan hasil belajar dan sikap ilmiah, meskipun hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan hasil belajar tidak bermakna secara signifikan (P=0,239). Akan tetapi antara jenis kelamin dengan sikap ilmiah memiliki korelasi yang sangat signifikan (P<0,01).Kata kunci: Korelasi, Jenis kelamin, Hasil belajar, Sikap ilmiah

Abstract

Validasi produk sangat penting dilakukan agar dapat diketahui kelemahan atau kekurangan dari bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dari sisi relevansi, akurasi, kebahasaan dan pembelajarannya. Uji validasi yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelemahan atau kekurangan dari produk yang telah dikembangkan berdasarkan masukan-masukan yang diberikan oleh validator. Buku yang dilakukan uji validasi adalah Buku Ilmiah Populer Etnobotani Tumbuhan Fagraea racemosa Jack ex Wall. di Kawasan Hutan Bukit Tamiang Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas buku ilmiah populer yang dikembangkan tentang etnobotani tumbuhan Fagraea racemosa Jack ex Wall. sebagai bahan ajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan model Educational Design Research (EDR) melalui Evaluasi Formatif Uji Tessmer. Hasil validasi dengan 2 orang ahli bahwa buku imiah populer menunjukkan kriteria sangat valid (92,01 %).

Abstract

Pembelajaran merupakan proses komunikasi dan berlangsung dalam suatu sistem, maka media pembelajaran sangat penting dan merupakan komponen sistem pembelajaran. Dengan media akan memperjelas materi yang diajarkan, sehingga mudah dipahami dan dimengerti. Sehingga akan memperluas wawasan dan pengetahuan terhadap apa yang dajarkan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian survey dengan pendekatan kualitatif (Quantitative Research) untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan penelitian. Penyusunan instrument atau alat pengumpul data, variable-variabel yang menjadi acuan utama peneliti dalam menyusun angket, terdiri atas angket tentang media pembelajaran dan mutu pembelajaran yang ada pada program studi terakreditasi A. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui ada hubungan antara media pembelajaran terhadap mutu pembelajaran pada 6 (enam) program studi terakreditasi A di FKIP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai Signifikansi (2-tailed) berdasarkan uji dengan menggunakan SPSS lebih kecil dari 0,005 yang berarti pengunaan media dalam pembelajaran sangat mendukung bagi terciptakan pembelajaran sesuai tujuan yang diinginkan dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk menentukan pertumbuhan cacing tanah (Lumbricus terrestris) dengan media buatan. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Palangka Raya pada Juni - Juli 2018 menggunakan desain rancangan acak lengkap dengan 3 macam perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Bahan yang digunakan cacing tanah (72 cacing) dengan rata–rata berat 2 gr dan panjang tubuh 15 cm. Bahan organik sebagai media hidup yaitu tanah tanpa campuran pupuk kendang (P0/kontrol), Tanah 2 Kg + kotoran sapi 2 Kg (P1), Tanah 2 Kg + Kotoran kambing 2 Kg (P2), Tanah 2 Kg + Kotoran ayam 2 Kg (P3). Parameter yang diukur adalah panjang dan biomassa cacing tanah selama 7 hari setelah cacing dimasukan ke dalam media (pada awal dan akhir penelitian). Parameter pendukung yang diukur adalah pH tanah, suhu tanah dan kelembaban. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians diikuti oleh uji Beda Nyata Terkecil pada level 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan media tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap parameter panjang tubuh cacing tanah, sedangkan beberapa media berpengaruh terhadap berat tubuh cacing tanah. Media yang memiliki pengaruh yang paling besar terhadap berat tubuh cacing tanah adalah kotoran ayam.

Abstract

One of the causes of learning difficulties in the population concept is that there are not many locally-based materials. The purpose of this study was to obtain a Handout of Plant Populations of the Tabanio Coastal Forest as a practical and effective Plant Ecology Enrichment Course. This research is a development research using Education Design Research (EDR) design through formative evaluation of the Tessmer model at the small group test stage to determine the practicality of expectations and the effectiveness of expectations from the developed Handout. The subjects of this study were 10 students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP University of Lambung Mangkurat Banjarmasin with the object of research being plant population structures found in the coastal forest of Tabanio, Tanah Laut Regency. The results of the research show that the teaching materials in the form of handouts developed are very practical and very effective to be used as material for enriching the population concept in improving learning outcomes for the Plant Ecology course.

Abstract

Abstrak. Monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis) merupakan satwa primata termasuk ke dalam Genus Macaca. Monyet ekor panjang mempunyai daya adaptasi yang tinggi terhadap lingkungan sehingga populasi yang ada di alam semakin bertambah setiap tahunnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah individu dan kepadatan populasi monyet ekor panjang (M. fascicularis) di Gunung Kapur Cicadas Desa Ciampea. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Juli 2015. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode jalur (line transect sampling). Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh total individu monyet ekor panjang sebanyak 245 individu dengan jumlah masing-masing individu jantan dan betina dewasa diperoleh 38 individu (15,51%), remaja 56 individu (22,86%), anak 91 individu (37,14%), dan bayi 22 individu (8,98%), dan kepadatan populasinya sebesar 2,0 individu/Ha.Kata Kunci: Populasi, Monyet Ekor Panjang, Gunung Cicadas, Ciampea, Bogor Abstract. Long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) is a species of primates into the Genus Macaca. Long-tailed monkeys have high adaptability to the environment so that the population that exists in nature is growing every year. This study aims to determine the number of individuals and the population density of long-tailed macaques (M. fascicularis) in Gunung Kapur Cicadas Ciampea village. This study was conducted from April to July 2015. The datawas collected using a path (line transect sampling). The results of this study obtained individual total long-tailed macaques were 245 individuals with the number of individual males and females adult obtained 38 individuals (15,51%), juvenile 56 individuals (22,86%), children 91 individuals (37,14%), and infants 22 individuals (8,98%), and a population density of 2,0 individual / Ha.Keyword: Population, Long-tailed monkeys, Mount Cicadas, Ciampea, Bogor

Abstract

The results of research on various types of medium for the growth of Acetobacter xylinum generally show good results, but in the provision of additional nutrients with the same nitrogen source. Bean sprouts have the potential to be an alternative source of nitrogen in the growth medium of Acetobacter xylinum because they contain protein. This study aims to describe the quality of nata produced from bacterial fermentation in the medium by adding green bean extract, cowpea, and soybeans. Experimental method with 6 replications at each treatment. The quality of the nata that is formed is seen based on the color, aroma, and fiber content produced. Data were analyzed descriptively by paying attention to respondents' ratings and the results of fiber content analysis test. The results showed the addition of green bean sprouts extract, cowpea, and soybeans on the nata de coco making medium showed good quality. The quality of nata de coco produced in each treatment has a good aroma (sour smell), the color quality of nata de coco on medium with green bean sprout extract is better than the others.
