Abstract

The construction Arabic dan Indonesian verbs within implication of learning Arabic language. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of formation of verbs Arabic and Indonesian, analyzing the difference between the two processes and outlines the implications of the differences in Arabic and Indonesian verb formation on Arabic learning. This research includes qualitative research. The data in this study are written data, whether published in articles, papers, books, and those contained in other writings related to the formation of verbs Arabic and Indonesian language and learning Arabic. The data collection methods used to refer to the technical note. The data collected in this study were analyzed using contrastive analysis. The results of this study describe the formation of Arabic verbs through internal modification and affixation, while the formation of verbs in the Indonesian language is done through affixation, reduplication and composition. The significant difference between the two is that the formation of verbs in Arabic is always related to time, quantity, and gender so as to reveal time, different numbers or genders are expressed grammatically through verb changes, whereas the formation of verbs in Indonesian is not related to time, and gender so as to reveal semantic concepts of time, quantity, and gender are lexically represented accompanying verbs to form verb phrases without altering their verb forms. The differences between them have implications for the Arabic learning process, namely the emergence of difficulties faced by Arabic learners.

Abstract

This research aimed (1) to explore whether or not the use of Silent Way Method can improve the students’ speaking ability, (2) to disclose how effective is Silent Way Method in improving students’ speaking ability.The research applied the experimental design and the samples comprised 30 tenth grade students of SMU Negeri 12 Makassar divided into two groups namely experimental class consisted 15 students class X IPA 3 and control class consisted 15 students class X IPS 3. The data were collected by using two types of instruments: the speaking test and the questionnaires. The data on the students’ speaking ability were analyzed using the descriptive statistics, and the data on the students’ questionnaire toward the use of Silent Way Method were analyzed using Likert Scale.The research results revealed that (1) the use of Silent Way Method in teaching speaking had improved the students’ speaking ability; and that (2) the students’ responses toward the use of Silent Way Method were positive. In fact, the students stated that they found the teaching of speaking more interesting when the Silent Way Method was used to teach them speaking. Thus, the Silent Way Method was effective in improving the students’ English speaking ability; the students also found the method much more interesting when used to teach speaking.

Abstract

Journal of learning reflection using cohesion and coherence. This study aims, describe the realization and the forefront of the principles of cohesion and coherence in the journals reflection of learning Indonesian junior high school teachers in Maros District.                    The type of qualitative research with descriptive method, data collection techniques refer and note. The study population is a whole lingual unit containing cohesion and coherence.              The results of the study show that the cohesion embodiment used is lexical cohesion (repetition and equivalence), grammatical cohesion (references and conjunctions), and coherence (causation, consequence, condition, argumentative and means-result) the cohesion used is repetition, equivalence, reference, and conjunction. As for the application of the coherence rules used by causal relationships, consequences, conditions, arguments, and means-results

Abstract

This study aims, namely (1) describes the ability to write essay description of the class VII SMP Negeri 18 Lau through the use of media image series and (2) to analyze the obstacles faced by students of class VII SMP Negeri 18 Lau in arranging a bouquet of descriptions using the media picture series.This research is a qualitative research. This research data in the form of bouquets description seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Lau. Data collection methods are methods refer to Technical note. Data were analyzed with descriptive methods.The results showed that the analysis of the ability to write essay description of the class VII SMP Negeri 18 Lau through the use of media image series shows (1) the ability to organize ideas in an integrated manner, (2) choice of words / diction precise, (3) the use of vocabulary in varied, (4) the creation of cohesion and coherence and (5) writing techniques in accordance with Indonesian enhanced spelling (EYD). The constraints in the use of media such images in learning, from the point of view of teachers that (a) some teachers still use traditional learning methods, (b) the limited ability of teachers to provide media images in accordance with the concept of learning and (c) the teacher has not been able to use media image series of continuous learning. As from the student's perspective (a) The student has not mastered the rules of spelling properly, (b) students are less serious about work and (c) the influence of the local language diversity.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of pemali as the value of local wisdom in the Maros of District in Bontoa and Maros Baru sub-district, analyze how the meaning of pemali on the behavior of coastal communities in Maros of District, and how the function of the pemali towards local wisdom is in the behavior of the coastal communities of Maros District.The method used in this study is a qualitative method that is describing the form, function and meanings of verbal and non-verbal pemali.  Data collection was conducted through surveys and direct interviews with coastal communities in Maros of District. The results of this study indicate that. Verbal form the guards of pemali in coastal communities of Maros District, including: The words Cappu/Tena/De’gaga (completed), Tassala (detached), Pettu (broken off) Cappak (butt end), and Mate (dead) aqgeaq-geaq (be at odds), Abbaju eja je’ne-je’ne ri tamparanga and (bathing on the beach using red clothes) Appoloi bangi, (whistle). And the of non-verbal pemali coastal communities in Maros District, including; Tettong ribawang/Ammenteng  ritimungang, (stand at the door) Aqboko (backward). Tinro mopang atau tinro mappang, (sleep face down). Appatinompang (face down the container), Pasampo ulu atau Songko Punggawa,  (headgear). Nipiralluangi pa’riolo kanang, (step with your right foot), the meaning of pemali shows religious meaning and social meaning and the function of pemali shows that the function is to protect oneself and as a function of culture.

Abstract

Crimes against humanity in the form of human rights violations in Uganda was caused by internal conflict which was triggered by Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). The conflict started in 1987 and lasted over 20 years. Not only in Uganda, LRA also attacked three neighboring countries, such as Republic Democratic Congo, South Sudan, and Central Africa. During the conflict, LRA caused more than 100,000 deaths, abducted more than 60,000 children, and displaced more than 2.5 million civilians. Due to the prolonged internal conflict, the Ugandan government was considered to fail to protect its citizens thus the international community intervened to overcome this problem, as conducted by the United States. This paper attempted to reveal the U.S. efforts to overcome cases of human rights violations by LRA group in Uganda and the impact of such efforts to the protection of civilians. The research reveals the case of human rights violations in Uganda can be overcome after efforts had been carried out by the U.S. and supported with development and economy recovery for areas and social and healthy recovery for citizens of Uganda.

Abstract

Language selection done by the speakers of the language so that it led to a situation of language that is diglosia to pay attention to the use of the languages of Indonesia, foreign language, and local languages in different situations. The aims of study were,(1) describe the situation in a conversation kediglosiaan Modern Boarding School of Al- Syaikh Abdul Wahid Baubau City and (2) reveal a situation in a conversation kediglosiaan Modern Boarding School Al- Syaikh Abdul Wahid Baubau City City in the realm of formal and informal. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research data in the form of units of speech students tsanawiyah in Modern Boarding Al-Syaikh Abdul Wahid. The method used is the method refer to techniques refer libat ably, check out free libat ably, engineering techniques and record noted. As for the method of data analysis was descriptive. Model of data analysis is the analysis of flows that consist of three strands of activities that occur simultaneously, i.e. the reduction of the data, the presentation of data, and the withdrawal of the summary. The results of this research show that the situation of the diglosia in Modern boarding schools students conversation Al-Shaykh ' Abd al Wahid Baubau Town there are 12 speech; 4 speech variety of formal (official), and 8 speech is colloquial variety (and familiar).

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the forms of the basic Indonesian sentences basic children aged 3-4 years playinggreen slope district of jeneponto and (2) describe the types of single sentences of children aged 3-4 years in the district green slope play group jeneponto. This research is a descriptive research. The approach used in this study is a syntactic approach. This research data is a sigle sentence spoken by children aged 3-4 years in the green slope play group jeneponto district. The method of reffering and proficient. The technique used in the refer and refer method is the recording technique and recording technique. The results of this study indicate that (1) forms of basic sentences based on single sentences of children aged 3-4 year in the district green slope play group jeneponto consists of  KB + KB, KB + KK, KB + KS, KB + KDep, KB + KBil, and FB + KDep and (2) types of child single sentences which consist of question words, who, when, and where the presence is at the beginning of the sentence, in the middle, and at the end sentence. As for, the question asked how and why the researchers did not find. Furthermore, the imperative sentences or command sentence consists of the commad sentence verily, prohibited sentences, and sentences invite.

Abstract

The traditional game is the local wisdom of every region in Indonesia. Indonesia has a diversity of classic games with different characters in each area. The positive thing that is found in traditional games is that it can embed the noble values of the nation such as, the virtuous, spirit of cooperation/togetherness, honesty, and obedience to the rules. The exact amount of traditional games must continue to be preserved. The biggest challenge in defence is the development of difficult-to-be-dammed technology. Based on the background, this research wants to apply various traditional games in SMP Negeri 1 Purwodadi by reviewing the cause of the start-up, traditional games, students ' responses when traditionally used games, and the benefits that Acquired traditional games.  Research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques with observations and interviews. The results of this research are the first, and there are various causes of the traditional game if it is reviewed from the socio-cultural, environmental, legal, and historical aspects. Secondly, the enthusiastic response of students depicting that traditional games can also provide the satisfaction of playing during sophisticated technology. Thirdly, traditional game benefits can instil the sublime value of the nation.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the forms of ecological wisdom in the lexicon of jungle language regarding forest ecosystems, subsistence fulfillment, and naming and interpreting flora and fauna. This research was a qualitative research. The research data were in the form of the jungle lexicon related to forest ecosystems, subsistence, flora and fauna. Data were obtained from the Jungle people gathered in Ketemenggungan Makekal Hulu. Data were collected using ethnographic interviewing techniques, participant observation, and the application of ecolinguistic knowledge in praxis. The data analysis technique used in this study refered to the principle of the ethnographic method proposed by Spradley (2006), namely the research data that had been obtained through interviews and participant observation was coded so that the data source can still be traced. Then the data inside contained some local terms in the language of the jungle lexicon being transliterated. Furthermore, data were classified and analyzed based on ecolinguistic theory. After that, the data were presented in the form of in-depth descriptions and conclusions based on the results of the study. The discussions of the results of this study outlines three problems based on the formulation of the problem, namely (1) forms of ecological wisdom in the Jungle language lexicon relating to forest ecosystems including: changes in weather and disasters, about types of rain, time according to jungle people, rivers and regulation, and the classification and treatment of forest areas; (2) forms of ecological wisdom in the jungle lexicon that are related to subsistence fulfillment, namely behuma ‘farming’, beburu ‘hunting’, gathering (collecting forest product); and (3) the forms of ecological wisdom in the lexicon of the jungle language, which relates to the naming and meaning of flora and fauna, out of the fifteen flora described the origin of their names and meanings, seven of which have no scientific names yet, as well as the fifteen outlined, eleven of them have also not been identified.
