Abstract

The objective of this study was to obtain the data on the improvement of gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years with taiso radio gymnastics. This research was included in the experimental research type. The population in this study were children aged 5-6 years at RA Diponegoro Kertanegara, Purbalingga. The respondents in this study were 33 children. The method of data collection in this study was the observation instrument of gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years. Then the method of data analysis used were descriptive and hypothesis testing with Paired Sample t-Test. The results of this study indicated that the gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years after being given treatment which was in the form of Taiso Radio gymnastics from an average of 92.91 to an average of 106.48. This was given a pretest treatment of gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years in the fair category with a percentage index of 12.12% and a good category with a percentage index of 87.88%. After being given treatment (posttest) there was an increase in gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years into a good category with a percentage index of 81.81% and a very good category with an achievement index of 18.19%. Therefore, taiso radio exercise is effective in increasing gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years. Based on the results of the Paired Sample t Test calculation, the researcher obtained values -table > count > table, which was (-14.544 < -2.036 or 14.544 > 2.036), with sig = 0,000, so that was rejected and was accepted. It meant that there were differences in the gross motor ability of children aged 5-6 years after being applied to Taiso Radio gymnastics. The difference can be seen from the value of sig 2 tailed <0.005 which was 0,000.

Abstract

Courtesy is an unwritten rule that has been considered a good habit by Javanese people. At this time began to be abandoned by the Javanese people themselves. This research objective was to obtain empirical data about increase courtesy for early childhood using Javanese language picture story book. This type of research is experimental research (experimental research). The population in this study were students of kindergarten class B TK Sidoluhur II, Wonowoso Village, Karangtengah Sub-district, Demak Regency. The sampling technique used was saturated sample (totality sampling). The sample is 30 children. Data collection methods used were interviews, documentation and use of the Likert scale increase courtesy for early childhood using Javanese language picture story book. The Likert scale was previously tested so that it can be used in research, with results totaling 50 valid items. While the method of data analysis is descriptive and hypothesis testing with Paired Sample T Test. The results of this study are courtesy for children in behaving and speaking in Javanese language has increased. The way children talk and behave becomes more polite. Based on the results of the calculation of the Paired Sample T Test, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. There was a significant increase in courtesy in early childhood after the Javanese language story book media was applied. The effectiveness of the media usage of Javanese language picture book is as big as 37.9668. This means that the Javanese language picture story book is effective in increasing early childhood courtesy.

Abstract

This research is done based on concerns with children’s lack of knowledge about the culture. Indonesia is a country that is rich in cultural diversity. Cultural diversity in Indonesia today is beginning to experience shock. The shock is caused by the entry of foreign culture which then dominated local culture. The media for the introduction of local culture in early childhood is minimal and less attractive. The creation of local cultural media today is not comparable to the creation of foreign media, so early childhood is more comfortable with foreign cultures and less familiar with the local culture. This study aims to determine the differences and knowledge of early childhood about cultural heritage in terms of the use of Punakawan novel graphics. This study uses quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design used is Pre-Experimental Designs. The population in this study are all students in the TK (Kindergarten) Khalifah 25 Semarang who are 5-6 years old, while the sample is 32 children aged 5-6 years who became the experimental class which are given treatment by researchers using the media graphic novel books of the clown. The data collection technique in this study uses a knowledge scale of cultural heritage. The data analysis technique uses Independent Sample t-Test. The results obtained t count> t table (11,825> 2,039) and the sig value (2-tailed) 0.00 <0.05, then the hypothesis is accepted. The calculation of the percentage of cultural heritage knowledge in early childhood based on the application of novel graphic media has increased by 28% between pretest and posttest. The results of the study stated that there are differences and increased knowledge about cultural heritage in early childhood in terms of the use of Punakawan novel graphic.

Abstract

Playing is a fun activity for children and is an easy way for a child’s brain to form new memories. Playing is related to toys. Children’s toys selection is dominated by the parents’ will or vice versa that is based on the wishes of children without any attempt by parents in directing the appropriate tools for the child. This study aims to find out the efforts made by parents. The next objective is to find out the parents’ understanding of the purpose of toys that are suitable for children aged 3-4 years. Knowing the considerations made by parents as an effort to choose toys that are suitable for children aged 3-4 years in Kebumen Village, is the third goal of this study. The research method is qualitative research with the research subject is parents of 3-4 years old children, their children, and educators in Kebumen Village. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis methods are through the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification of data and conclusion. Based on the research, the results show that the parents’ understanding about the purpose of the toys is as stimulation of child development. Parents’ efforts consist of children’s desires/interests and discussions with children. Those efforts are carried out mostly by parents. Considerations made by parents as part of the effort to choose children’s toys are more inclined to the price of toys than the function and purpose of education that is suitable for children aged 3-4 years. In addition, the colors and materials and labels of children’s toys by most parents are not much considered.

Abstract

Many conflicts that arise in Indonesia such as loss of humanity, love and respect for NKRI, recognition of the culture by other nations, causing division between regions, countries and nations. Therefore, it becomes an important thing to cultivate learning national vision into the nation's next-generation, especially from an early age. Various character values ​​need to be applied to children, especially the character to love culture of the nation and country, which is grown through learning the cultivation of national vision. So, children know the origin of their birth and various cultures of their resident people. This study aims to determine the learning program for the cultivation of national vision in Indonesian children with permanent resident status (PR) at Little Stars Kindergarten, School of Indonesia (Singapore) Ltd. In addition, this study aims to see how the behavior of students after participating in the learning of national vision at Little Stars Kindergarten, School of Indonesia (Singapore) Ltd. The target of this study is Indonesian children with permanent resident (PR) status, aged 4-6 years at Little Stars Kindergarten, School of Indonesia (Singapore) Ltd. This study uses qualitative methods, with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation (triangulation). Permanent Resident is the legal status granted by a country so that it has the same position as a citizen. Almost all students at SIS Little Stars are permanent residents. The results of this study indicated that students with permanent residency (PR) status at Little Stars Kindergarten, Indonesia School (Singapore) Ltd, have diverse national perspectives. The national vision possessed by students includes: knowing the city or country of origin at birth, local languages, special foods, Indonesian national songs, some folk songs, and general knowledge about Indonesian culture. Students still have a national vision for Indonesian, even though they have long-lived and settled in Singapore. This is the output of the learning of national vision conducted by the teacher.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best food for babies. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding during the first 6 months of birth in infants. Breast milk contains all the substances that babies need. However, there are still babies who are not given exclusive breastfeeding and have never even felt breast milk. This is due to the mother's breastmilk not coming out, working mothers, or the production of breastmilk that is felt to be inadequate in meeting the needs of the baby. This study discusses the differences in growth focused on the weight and height of children aged 14-23 months who drink breast milk and infant formula. This type of research is a comparative study with cross sectional design. The population is 115 children aged 12-24 months in Sekaran village. As in this study, respondents are 30 mothers who have children aged 14-23 months. While the sample is 15 children who drink breast milk and 15 children who drink infant formula. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, where the sample is selected according to predetermined inclusion criteria. Data collection is done through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Growth data is seen through KMS (health card), filling questionnaires, and interviews with respondents. Hypothesis testing uses an independent t test. The results showed that there are differences in body weight and height growth between children aged 14-23 months who are breastfeed and who take infant formula. The average weight growth value of children who drink breast milk is 10.94 and children who drink formula milk 11.83. The average height growth value of children who drink breast milk is 81.85 and children who drink formula milk 78.46. The difference in average body weight of children who drink breast milk with children who drink formula milk is 1.43. While the difference in the average height of a child who drinks milk with a child who drinks formula milk is 3.39.

Abstract

Authentic assessment with anecdot note with division of students’ model is an assessment model with division into several groups. The implementation of anecdot notes in the Mawar Cluster Semarang Regency is the teacher records all the activities, attitudes, and behaviors of children which are carried out by children every day or that appear suddenly. In implementing anecdot notes, the teacher sometimes only records negative things; as a consequence, the teacher skips positive behavior that can enter anecdot notes sometimes. The purposes of this study are to determine teacher understanding of the implementation of authentic assessment using anecdot notes in the Mawar Cluster Semarang Regency. Then, it is to find out the process of analyzing anecdot records with the division of students model conducted by teachers in the Mawar Cluster Semarang District. This study uses qualitative research methods with the type of descriptive research method percentage. Data are collected using questionnaires and interviews, questionnaires are filled out by each class teacher, while interviews are conducted to the vice-principal of curriculum in the institution. The respondents in the study are 26 teachers taken from the TK Negeri Pembina (Pembina State Kindergarten) Semarang Regency, TK Kartini 01 Karangjati, and Kartini 02 Kindergarten. The results of the analytical study of authentic assessment implementation variables are obtained on average = 45.85, minimum value = 39, the maximum value = 53, the middle value (median) = 45, the frequently occurring value (mode) = 44 and the standard deviation = 2.96. 92.31% of teachers carry out authentic assessments very well, 3.85% of teachers perform authentic assessments very well, and 3.85% of teachers do authentic assessments very well. The results of the interviews are obtained from the results of an authentic assessment analysis process using anecdot record with a division of students model conducted in the Mawar Cluster Semarang Regency following the stages of assessment that is daily assessments, then described in data compilation and summarized into report results of child development. Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's strategy in growing interpersonal intelligence of children participating in the drum band at Hj. Isriati Baiturrahman 2 Semarang Kindergarten School. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Research location in Hj. Isriati Baiturrahman 2 Semarang Kindergarten School. Research subjects that are the source of data such as teacher, trainer, and child. Data collection of techniques in this study include: observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis of techniques used are: Interactive. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the teacher's strategy in growing interpersonal intelligence of the children of drum band participants is through habituation. The teachers educate, teach, direct, stimulate, motivate, and set a good example. Drum band learning at Hj. Isriati Baiturrahman 2 Semarang Kindergarten School is held twice a week, on Thursday and Friday. Drum band activities can train discipline, train cohesiveness, change learning patterns and habits, train leadership, train cooperation, change character, can motivate yourself, and train to socialize. In this study, it can be said that drum band learning already contains interpersonal intelligence, then drum band learning can be used as a medium to support children's interpersonal intelligence. Abstract

Disasters cannot be avoided but can be muted if the community has sufficient information about disaster prevention. The lack of information had about what should be done when a disaster occurs, especially for children, makes them vulnerable to disasters. Therefore, education about disaster preparedness is very necessary for early childhood. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence on the implementation of disaster education through a triangle alert game on children's independence when facing disasters in the coastal area of Bonang District, Demak Regency. Through the triangle alert game, it can be seen whether there are differences in the level of independence of children when facing a disaster. The research method in this research is an experiment. The study uses the one-group pretest-posttest design method.An experiment is carried out in one group without a comparison group. The research instrument with the parameters of independence uses a Likert scale with answers "Strongly Agree", "Agree", "Disagree", and "Disagree". The population in this study is the children in Tunas Bangsa Kindergarten of Morodemak Village Bonang District Demak Regency. The sample in this study is 33 children of Kindergarten B in Tunas Bangsa Kindergarten. The data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive analysis, normality test, and hypothesis testing with Paired Sample t-Test. The hypothesis test states that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of the t-test calculation between the pretest and posttest of the experimental group are tcount = -12,419 with value of sig (2-tailed) < 0.05. The average value at the pretest stage is 68.00 and at the posttest stage is 93.55. So, there is a significant difference between children's independence in facing disasters before and after being given disaster preparedness education.

Abstract

Kebahagiaan anak dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, yang utama ialah lingkungan keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kebahagiaan anak jika ditinjau dari pola komunikasi ibu-anak dan strategi coping pada ibu tunggal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode regresi linier berganda dengan objek penelitian ini yaitu 50 anak berusia 3-6 tahun dari keluarga ibu tunggal (single mother). Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan analisis statik deskriptif, uji signifikansi parameter individual (uji t/ uji parsial), dan uji F. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan statistik menggunakan uji signifikansi parameter individual (uji statistikt/ uji parsial) dengan p value <0,05 diperoleh bahwa hasil dari keempat variabel, tiga diantaranya mempunyai nilai signifikansi antara 0.012-0.047<0.05 (pola komunikasi terbuka, pola komunikasi tertutup, problem focused coping), dari hasil tersebut diketahui bahwa pola komunikasi terbuka, pola komunikasi tertutup, problem focused coping secara parsial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan anak dari keluarga ibu tunggal (single mother). Sedangkan pada emotion focused coping sig. 0.656>0.05 dari hasil tersebut diketahui bahwa emotion focused coping tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan anak dari keluarga ibu tunggal (single mother). Sedangkan pada uji F diperoleh nilai Fhitung (10,729)>Ftabel (2,81) dan p value <0.05 (0.000<0.05), dari hasil tersebut diketahui bahwa dari keempat variabel yaitu pola komunikasi terbuka, pola komunikasi tertutup, emotion focused coping, problem focused coping secara bersama-sama (simultan) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan anak dari keluarga ibu tunggal (single mother) di Kota Semarang.
