Abstract

School management strategy in an effort to increase the absorption capacity of graduates is due to the low absorptive capacity of vocational school graduates in the business and industrial world. One of the indications is influenced by the lack of communication between the school and the business and industrial world. This study aims to describe and analyze the collaboration management of SMK Negeri 3 Semarang with the business and industrial world, starting from planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research is a qualitative research. Sources of data obtained from (1) informants from SMK N 3 Semarang and industry; (2) the process of planning, organizing, implementing, supervising collaboration between SMK N 3 Semarang and the business and industrial world. While data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include the following procedures: (1) data collection in the field; (2) data reduction; (3) data display and (4) verification and conclusion drawing. The results of the study: (1) Planning was completed through: the formulation of the plan by presenting an industry delegate, setting the plan with a plenary meeting attended by the teacher council, parents of students and school committees, and evaluation of the plan by Evabang; (2) Organizing, coordinating and collaborating between vocational high schools and industry to carry out learning in the form of theory by inserting character education, school practice, and practice, (3) Implementation is adjusted to the establishment of plenary meeting plans (4) Evaluation from industry, BAN-S/M and ISO.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) Describe Islamic character learning planning based on habituation in MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus, (2) Describe the implementation of habituation based Islamic learning in MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus, and (3) Describe the assessment / evaluation habituation based Islamic character learning in MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus.The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used was participatory observation, semitructured interviews, and documentation. The data validity technique that will be used is source, method and time triangulation. The data analysis technique used is based on Miles and Huberman's theory which includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification.The results showed that (1) Planning for habituation programs at MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus consisted of several stages including, evaluation, coordination meetings, and program preparation, (2) Implementation of habituation programs at MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus were well implemented and orderly, both in the school environment and in the home environment. However, the obstacle is sometimes the lazy attitude of the students, and (3) Evaluation (assessment) of the habituation program at MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kudus Program Khusus is carried out in 2 stages. The first is to use student achievement books for daily assessments at school. The second is using the 2013 curriculum report cards for assessment at the end of each semester.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the management of inclusive elementary schools, the principal's strategy in motivating the work of inclusive class teachers, and to describe the exemplary value of principals in inclusive elementary schools. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and documentation. Analysis of research data was done by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data through testing the credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study were as follows: (1) management of inclusive elementary schools by: planning all inclusive school activities at the beginning of the new school year through meetings with teachers and school committees; division of teacher tasks both basic and additional tasks according to their competence; implementing inclusive school work programs according to plan; monitoring during the implementation of activities and evaluating the work program at the end of the semester; (2) the principal's strategy in motivating the work of inclusive class teachers, namely the principal applying reward and punishment, teaching assignments according to his competence, encouraging teachers to excel, giving trust to subordinates, always two-way communication; (3) the principal values ​​exemplified by the principal are: discipline in working, nurturing subordinates, family, responsibility for assignments, and applying the 3S culture senyum, salam, sapa (smiles, greetings, say hello) to teachers and students. The researchers thank the Directorate of Research and Community Service of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education for providing grant assistance so that this research can be completed.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to describe and analyze the partial and simultaneous influence of motivation and work environment as well as commitment towards teacher performance in organizing learning activity. This study also examined the influence of motivation and work environment through commitment on teacher performance in organizing learning activity. This study was a population study in which using quantitative method and survey approach. Data collection was done by using questionnaire distributed to 138 teachers. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis. The results showed that motivation influenced on teacher commitment as big as 1.7%. Work environment had influence on teacher commitment as big as 47.9%. The influence of motivation and work environment on teacher commitment was 63.7%. While, motivation towards teacher performance was 14.7%. The influence of work environment on teacher performance was 9.3%. The influence of commitment towards teacher performance was equal to 12.6%. There was influence of motivation, work environment and commitment towards teacher performance which was equal to 59.1%. There was no influence of motivation on teacher performance through commitment because the value of Indirect Effect is smaller than the value of Direct Effect.

Abstract

In vocational education, cooperation with the business world and industrial world (DU/DI) is very important, and its implementation must be adapted to the needs of the current era. Therefore, Vocational High Schools (SMK) must be able to combine the curriculum and equate perceptions with DU/DI in order to produce quality graduates and have skills that are in line with market needs. This study aimed to describe the relationship of cooperation in the form of partnerships based on link and match in SMK Negeri 6 Semarang, especially in developing competencies in the field of fashion. To be able to achieve the research objectives, a qualitative approach with the case study method was used. The results showed that SMK 6 Semarang had implemented link and match based partnership management in various forms, including: 1). The planning stage begins with synchronizing the curriculum between the school and DU/DI, 2). At the implementation stage, a link and match based partnership program has been implemented in the form of learning and training through holding industrial classes with by-order products that have a sale value, and 3). At the supervision stage, it has collaborated with the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), so as to increase the resources of productive teachers and students in the fashion sector.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect and differences in the use of the cooperative model Think Talk Write and Problem Based Learning aided by Pop Up Books media on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This research used a quantitative research method of quasi experiment. The research design used in the study was the pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this research was SD 1 Rahtawu and SD 2 Rahtawu as the control class and SD 1 Menawan as the experimental class. The control class consisted of 39 students and the experimental class consisted of 40 students. The independent variable was the cooperative model Think Talk Write and Problem Based Learning aided by Pop Up Books media. While the dependent variable was students' critical thinking. The data collection technique was a test of students' critical thinking results. With the results of the average value obtained by the control class 79.1, while in the experimental class the average value is 82.6. With an average N-gain in the experimental class is 0.51 in the medium category, while the average N-gain in the control class is 0.31 in the medium category. Which means there was an influence of the application of the cooperative model Think Talk Write and Problem Based Learning aided by Pop Up Books media on students' critical thinking skills. And there were differences in results in the use of learning models which means that by applying the Problem Based Learning model aided by Pop Up Books media students' critical thinking skills were better than the Cooperative Think Talk Write model aided by Pop Up Books media.

Abstract

The research aims to describe (1) planning; (2) realization; and (3) supervision of boarding school on students’ character building in An-Nawawiyyah Islamic Junior High School Rembang. The method of this research uses qualitative approach. The data sources are from informant (vice headmaster, teachers, caretaker/Islamic preacher, and students), observation and document. The data collection technique is by using interview, observation, and documentation. In addition, the data testing technique is done by triangulation. Besides, the data analysis technique is by using some phases consisting of data reduction, data showing, and verification. The research result showed that the service of character building of An-Nawawiyyah Islamic Junior High School Rembang students was integrated in the students’ activities in the classroom and outside the classroom. All policy was planned by the school and Islamic boarding school. The planning of integrated character education between school curriculum and Islamic boarding school program is done by determining executing team of character building namely Islamic preacher of Islamic boarding school. The scheduling and the programming of character building in organization were realized in form of cooperation among schools’ community and Islamic Junior High School. The realization was integrated in every student’s activities. The supervision was addressed to the implementation of students’ discipline regulation. From the research result, it can be concluded that character building of An-Nawawiyyah Islamic Junior High School Rembang students is not separated from the role of boarding school. Boarding school of An-Nawawiyyah Islamic Junior High School Rembang can build the attitude of politeness, discipline, honesty, responsibility, independence, nationalism, and environmental caring.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by pocket book to reading literacy skill. This quasi experimental research had quantitative method. The population of this research consisted of IV grade of Karangayu 02 in academic 2018/2019. It consisted of 60 studeents grouped into two classes: IV A and IV B. The sampling technique was nonprobabilty sampling with saturated sampling. The data was obtained from pretest – posttest. The data analysis consisted of normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and N – gain test. The findings showed that reading mathematics literacy skill of experimental group classically reached 93.1% with average 84.13. Meanwhile, the control group classically reached 73.3% with average score 76.6. The t-test result showed that Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by pocket book was effective to reading literacy skill of primary school students. It could be concluded that Problem Based Learning assisted by pocket book was effective to improve reading literacy skill of students. It is suggested to develop further investigation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, supervision, evaluation and reporting and accountability of the management of school operational assistance fund in SDN Girirejo 02 Ngablak, Magelang Regency. Data were collected by interview, questionnaire and documentation, which were then analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the preparation of the RKAS was on schedule at the beginning of the fiscal year, based on the priority scale of school needs, and involved committees and teachers. The implementation aspect was not entirely successful because the distribution of BOS fund was still too late. Bookkeeping administration was in accordance with Permendiknas No. 48 of 2017. The aspect of supervision was still unsuccessful because there was no supervision from the school committee and related agencies on a regular basis. Evaluation activities by the committee had been conducted even though they had not been maximized. Reporting on the management of BOS fund in SDN Girirejo 02 can be said that it had been successful because it had made a report in accordance with the technical guidelines for managing BOS funds in accordance with Ministry of Education Regulation No.48 2017. The effectiveness of BOS fund management at SD Negeri Girirejo 02 reaches 63%, within the effective criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to analyze the internalization process of religious character conducted by teachers in the learning process in low class in Islamic elementary school in Purwokerto City. The type of research used is qualitative. Research Data is derived from interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis used in this research by triangulation. The results showed that the process of planting religious character in the implementation of learning carried out by associating the value of religious characters into the learning theme integrated in syllabus and RPP and applied in Implementation of learning. Research conclusion shows that the implementation of religious character planting in the low class in the implementation of learning in the city of Purwokerto carried out by integrating religious character book into the implementation of learning. The suggestions presented in this study are necessary to be further developed in subsequent studies.
