Abstract

This study aims to explore phenomenologically informal education through the role of parents in providing economic education to children and education in family financial management. This study uses a qualitative approach to phenomenology. The informants in this study were six parents who were heads of families and, based on their profiling, met the requirements for achieving the research objectives. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis techniques are used through the data reduction phase to present information and draw conclusions. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that parents have the perception that economic education must be taught to children from an early age, especially in terms of managing money, reducing unnecessary expenses, and starting to save from an early age, so that children get used to being intelligent economic beings and prepare for future success. When teaching their children about family economics, parents focus on helping their children understand their family's financial situation and how to act responsibly by only spending as needed by providing explanations and modeling economic behavior. Abstract

The implementation of independent teaching and independent play in the Independent Curriculum is expected to help achieve learning objectives. The Integrated Islamic Kindergarten Institution, under the auspices of the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT), also collaborates the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) Curriculum with the Independent Curriculum, which hopes to develop children's potential and instill religious values. The purpose of this study is to determine how the implementation of independent teaching and independent play can foster religious feelings in children aged 5–6 years at the City of Semarang Integrated Islamic Kindergarten. The research method used is qualitative, with data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberment model, namely data reduction, data display (data presentation), and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that independent teaching gives teachers the freedom to manage the class, providing child-centered learning. Through independent play, children's play rights are fulfilled, and children feel happy. In terms of fostering children's religious feelings, teachers and parents collaborate to instill the habit of worship and give confidence that Allah SWT is the God of Muslims. The implementation of freedom of teaching and freedom of play with fun activities, habituation of worship activities, and collaboration with parents is able to foster children's religious feelings who are still in the learning stage. Abstract

The Students who did not meet the criteria for mastering critical thinking and not carry out Project Based Learning in Mathematics courses became passive, did not generate creativity and did not understand the mathematical concepts applied in the previous material in the learning process. The aim of this research was to identify and analyze the improvement of high-level thinking skills that could be obtained through HOTS (High Order Thingking Skill)  questions using the Project Based Learning method. This research was descriptive research with a qualitative approach and it was conducted in second semester students at Sriwijaya University. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, test and others were used to solve problem and the documentation was used to collect the process data and research results. The results of this research showed that there was a significant increase in acquisition. Application of the PJBL  (Project Based Learning Model) a to critical thinking skills were in cycles 1 and 2, especially at the knowledge level. Based on the research results, the two studies increased critical thinking skills by 66.66% pre-action and 16.66% post-action, increasing to 85.3% in the method Project Based Learning. Apart from that, there was a significant increase in critical thinking skills with the "Very Good" category increasing from 66.67% to 85.3%. This showed that critical thinking skills had a positive impact on learning outcomes and collaborative spirit in the classroom. Overall, this showed that research applying the Project Based Learning method on HOTS questions was used to improve critical thinking skills to be more effective in strengthening problem solving by second semester students of  elementary school teacher education.

Abstract

Local knowledge and traditions have a lot of potential as a result of Indonesia's diverse cultural landscape. Several regional Indonesian proverbs have been used in the classroom as teaching aids. Nasi pelleng, a form of indigenous knowledge, is still hardly ever acknowledged or utilized in the classroom. Making Nasi Peleng traditional knowledge into a tool for teaching social science is thus novel. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the viability of including Nasi Pelleng traditional knowledge in the social science curriculum. Data collection methods for the qualitative approach adopted in this study include observations, recordings, interviews, and other sources that are connected to Nasi Peleng traditional knowledge. Additionally, content analysis is utilized to examine the data gathered. Based on its practical qualities and local wisdom values, the research's findings—which take the form of a presentation of Nasi Peleng's local knowledge—are appropriate for use as social sciences teaching materials. The religious, austere, and cooperative principles found in the Nasi Pelleng heritage can be used as a guide for how to behave in society, and this integration can be one of the attempts.maintaining communal knowledge that is beginning to be lost. Consequences of According to this study, children can learn to live simply and form communities by cooperating and showing respect for one another through the use of educational materials based on the Nasi Peleng tradition. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create an innovative history learning model by using a virtual field trip model. The problem will be studied in this study are: (1) what is the essence reality in learning history? (2) how is the application of the virtual field trip model to a history learning? Research method selected for this study is a literature study where the data material needed are obtained from books, journals, encyclopedias, articles and others. According to the study result, it defines a learning history is a teaching and learning activity regarding past events with conveyed meaning for the present. Within its development process in responding to the Covid 19 pandemic, an innovative virtual field trip model was created and designed to make students able to play an active role in the history learning process which can be seen from the following syntax: (1) Determining the learning materials, (2) Guiding the group/individual investigations, (3) Presenting the result of students’ investigation and (4) Evaluation. Abstract

Reading is a fundamental skill that underpins the entire learning process and must be mastered by students at an early stage. This study aims to examine the nature of initial reading difficulties among second-grade students, identify contributing factors, and explore effective interventions within the context of Indonesian language learning. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, with validity ensured through technical triangulation. The findings reveal a range of reading difficulties experienced by students, including the inability to recognize letters, distinguish between similar-looking letters, differentiate vowels and consonants, fluently decode words, and construct sentences. A significant contributing factor identified is the lack of support and involvement from the family environment, particularly parental attention. To address these challenges, teachers implemented engaging and interactive learning media to create a playful and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The study highlights the importance of teacher initiatives in designing student-centered reading interventions and underscores the need for strong communication between educators and parents to support students facing early reading challenges. These findings have implications for improving early literacy strategies and fostering collaborative efforts between schools and families in addressing learning difficulties.

Abstract

This study explores community activities that contribute to enhancing teachers' professional competence. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data collection, analysis, and reporting. Findings reveal that learning communities within schools significantly support teachers’ learning processes and foster improvements in their professional competencies, evident in their teaching practices, material delivery, and commitment to the profession. The study underscores the importance of learning communities as platforms for sharing best practices, deepening content knowledge, enhancing pedagogical skills, and developing innovative teaching strategies—thereby cultivating a culture of professionalism and lifelong learning. Furthermore, the research contributes to the development of a collective-based professional development model that prioritizes collaboration over individual training, which often lacks sustained impact. Lastly, learning communities are shown to foster a sense of belonging and support among teachers, increasing motivation, self-confidence, and willingness to experiment with new approaches. This research thus strengthens the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum by promoting collaborative and sustainable professional development for teachers.
