Abstract

Students' motivation to study mathematics was essential for improving their learning outcomes in the subject. Integrating the cooperative learning model of Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) with the Dakonmatika learning media represents an innovative blend of group learning and the traditional Indonesian game of Dakon or Congklak. This research aims to determine the effect of using the SFAE learning model assisted by Dakonmatika media on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The study employs a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental design in the form of The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were 54 students from Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School in Sorong City, divided into two classes: an experimental class of 29 students and a control class of 25 students. The research findings indicated that, based on the previously described data analysis and discussion of the multiple linear regression test, a significance value of 0.019 < 0.05 was obtained. According to the decision-making criteria, H0 was rejected. Moreover, from the t-test table, the calculated value (2.477) was greater than the table value (2.05553), meaning that t_calculated > t_table. It implied that the application of the SFAE learning model with the assistance of Dakonmatika media has a significant impact on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School in Sorong City. The implication of this study was that the integration of the Student Facilitator And Explaining (SFAE) learning model with daconmatics media has great potential in improving the quality of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

The advancement of technology has both positive and negative impacts on the character of the younger generation, who are the future leaders of the nation. To ensure that local cultural values remain strong, it is necessary to instill a love for local culture in the younger generation. One of the local cultures in the village of Teunbaun, West Amarasi, Kupang Regency, is the tradition of weaving ikat textiles. The indigenous people of Amarasi have a variety of patterns and motifs. Incorporating local wisdom values in schools can be achieved by integrating these values into the learning process. Social studies learning resources will be more engaging and have the potential to foster active involvement of students if the socio-cultural environment around the students is included in the learning process. One aspect of local wisdom that intrigued the researcher to study it as a source for social studies learning is the Amarasi ikat weaving. This research aims to 1) examine the values of local wisdom in the decorative patterns of Amarasi ikat weaving, and 2) describe the local wisdom values of Amarasi ikat weaving as a source for social studies learning. This research was conducted in Teunbaun Village, West Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, using a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research findings, the local wisdom values in the decorative patterns of Amarasi ikat weaving can be used as a source for social studies learning, providing a positive impact on shaping students' character, fostering a strong sense of identity, and forming students into a younger generation that is proud of and loves their cultural heritage

Abstract

The limitations of teaching materials in the new curriculum, namely the independent curriculum and technological advances. It has a good impact on education to support the achievement of 21st century skills. E-modules could be used as an alternative learning resource that was practical and contextual, because they could be used anywhere and the material presented was relevant to real life. The article aimed to produce e-module based on PBL valid, practical, and accounting cycles to determine the effectiveness of the e-module on students' critical thinking skills. The researchers used development research, adapting the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). In testing the effectiveness of this e-module, there was a significant increase because the value of the learning effectiveness of students after being given treatment was higher than without being given treatment. The implication of this research showed that educators must implement PBL assisted by e-modules, especially in accounting subjects, to improve students' critical thinking. Students were able to formulate learning problems, analyze problems, students used clear language, and draw learning conclusions. It gave an implication provision for students to develop their critical thinking skills. An important implication for the future that could be made was by paying attention to designs that were more appropriate to student needs, integrating content that was relevant to real life, and providing adequate training to teachers, it can increase the effectiveness of the module in improving students' critical thinking abilities.
