Abstract

ABSTRACT Curriculum management is a strategic factor in improving the quality of learning because it serves as a guideline for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational processes. However, the dynamics of educational development and the demands of twenty-first-century competencies require effective and adaptive curriculum management. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of curriculum management in enhancing learning quality through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research method involved identifying, selecting, analyzing, and synthesizing relevant scientific publications concerning curriculum management and learning quality. The reviewed literature was obtained from scholarly sources that met the inclusion criteria and aligned with the focus of the study. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of curriculum management is determined by the integration of curriculum planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation involving school principals, teachers, and other educational stakeholders. Furthermore, the implementation of needs-based curricula, continuous evaluation, and effective human resource management significantly contribute to improving learning quality. The review also reveals that curriculum flexibility in accommodating local needs and global developments is an essential factor in creating relevant and high-quality learning processes. Therefore, strategic, collaborative, and sustainable curriculum management plays a crucial role in improving educational quality and producing competent graduates who are capable of adapting to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) contains many abstract concepts that are difficult for elementary school students to understand, including changes in the form of substances. Although closely related to daily life, this topic often leads to misconceptions because the processes cannot be observed directly. Initial observations at SDN 45 Ampenan showed that most fourth-grade students had difficulty answering descriptive questions, classifying changes in the form of substances, and providing accurate examples. This study aimed to analyze fourth-grade students’ conceptual understanding of changes in the form of substances and identify factors contributing to their low understanding. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with 28 fourth-grade students at SDN 45 Ampenan. Data were collected through descriptive tests, classroom teacher interviews, and learning observations, then analyzed using three indicators of conceptual understanding: restating concepts, classifying objects, and providing examples and non-examples. The findings showed that students’ conceptual understanding remained low. Only 10,7% of students could correctly restate concepts, 21.4% could accurately classify objects, and 32% could provide complete examples. The low achievement was influenced by limited concrete learning experiences, difficulty distinguishing the original substance from the resulting change, and a tendency to memorize object functions rather than understand the process. The study recommends hands-on experiential learning and concrete demonstrations to improve students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of accreditation on teacher motivation and performance in the context of digital learning. Accreditation, as an instrument of quality assurance of education, not only functions in assessing the quality of institutions, but also plays a strategic role in increasing the intrinsic motivation and professionalism of teachers. The method used was explanatory research with the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach to 46 junior and senior high school teachers under the auspices of the Lenterahati Islamic Boarding School Foundation. The results showed that accreditation had a significant effect on teacher motivation (R² = 0.520) and teacher performance (R² = 0.598). The validity and reliability of the research instruments have been proven to be strong, supported by composite reliability and AVE values that meet the standards. Hypothesis testing showed that accreditation had a significant positive influence on teacher motivation and performance with a p-value of 0.000. These findings confirm that accreditation is able to create a positive organizational climate, clarify work expectations, and improve teachers' skills in the use of digital technology. However, the study also found that there are other external factors, such as leadership and work climate, that also affect teacher motivation and performance. This study recommends the importance of optimizing technology-based accreditation processes and strengthening professional training programs to support digital transformation in the education sector. Follow-up studies with a wider sample coverage are suggested to enrich understanding of the dynamics of accreditation and teacher capacity building in the digital age.
