This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and compensation on employee performance, with work motivation as a moderating variable at the Batik Benang Raja Surabaya Store. Using quantitative methods, this study involved the entire population of 46 permanent employees as research samples. Data analysis used moderated linear regression. The results showed that transformational leadership had no significant effect on employee performance (p = 0.847). Work motivation was also found to be unable to moderate the relationship between transformational leadership and performance (p = 0.696), this is suspected because the employee's educational profile prioritizes fulfilling material needs. Conversely, compensation was proven to have a significant and positive effect on employee performance (p = 0.00). Work motivation significantly strengthened the effect of compensation on performance (p = 0.012). These findings imply that the Company needs to maintain a proper compensation system and increase work motivation to optimize employee performance.

Abstract

Competition among interior-related MSMEs requires marketing strategies that connect internal capability with market opportunity. Previous studies have discussed MSME marketing strategies using SWOT, SOAR, and QSPM, but limited attention has been given to interior curtain MSMEs that rely on customization, product quality, installation service, and customer trust. This study aims to formulate and determine the priority marketing strategy for Lely Gorden Interior MSME by integrating SOAR analysis and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). This research used a descriptive case study approach. Primary data were obtained through owner interviews and field observation, while secondary data were collected from business documents and relevant literature. The data were analyzed using SOAR, EFE, IFE, IE, and QSPM matrices. The EFE and IFE scores were 3.60 and 3.40, placing the MSME in Quadrant I of the IE matrix. This position indicates a growth-oriented strategy. The SOAR matrix produced four alternative strategies. QSPM results show that building a premium brand image through customized product quality and personalized service across online and offline channels obtained the highest Total Attractiveness Score of 3.70. The study contributes to MSME strategy literature by showing how SOAR and QSPM can convert qualitative business potential into measurable marketing priorities in an interior MSME context.

Abstract

Background. Historical narratives are critical in shaping both political power and social structures within societies. These narratives not only reflect past events but also contribute to the construction of collective identities and the legitimization of political authority. Understanding how these narratives influence cultural change is crucial for examining the interplay between political power and societal transformation across different contexts. Purpose. This study aims to explore the relationship between political power, historical narratives, and cultural change by examining how social structures are depicted and reshaped through historical accounts in various political regimes. The research compares the role of these narratives in societies with different political systems, including monarchies, democracies, and authoritarian states. Method. A comparative historical analysis is employed, focusing on key historical narratives from selected societies. Textual analysis of primary sources, alongside secondary literature, is used to identify the ways in which historical events are framed to reinforce or challenge political power and social hierarchies. Results. The study reveals that historical narratives serve as powerful tools for consolidating political power, often manipulating cultural memory to legitimize dominant social structures. However, these narratives also provide spaces for contestation, allowing alternative perspectives and social movements to challenge established norms. Conclusion. This research concludes that historical narratives are central to the dynamics of political power and cultural change, offering insights into how societies negotiate social structures through the lens of history.
