Abstract

Study explores the integration of eco theology into Christian higher education curricula, focusing on the role of faith based environmental education in fostering environmental stewardship. Introduction: As the global ecological crisis intensifies, there is a growing need to incorporate ecological ethics into religious education, preparing future leaders to address environmental challenges. By integrating eco theology with sustainability practices, students are encouraged to view environmental stewardship as a spiritual responsibility grounded in biblical teachings. Literature Review: Previous studies emphasize the success of faith based educational approaches in raising ecological awareness and fostering sustainable practices, particularly in Islamic and Christian communities. Eco theology combines theological principles with environmental ethics, offering a holistic perspective on sustainability. Materials and Method: This study employs a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data from interviews, surveys, and focus groups with students and faculty members at Christian institutions that integrate eco theology into their curriculum. The research examines changes in students' attitudes toward sustainability before and after participation in eco theology courses, focusing on practical applications of creation care. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that the integration of eco theology significantly enhances students' ecological awareness and commitment to sustainability practices. Students report an increased understanding of the ethical and moral responsibility to care for creation, as well as greater engagement in community based conservation efforts. The results highlight the potential of eco theology as a transformative model in Christian higher education, equipping students with both ethical and practical tools to address the global ecological crisis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh krisis keteladanan dan reduksi Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) menjadi sekadar transfer pengetahuan teologis yang bersifat kognitif-informasional. Kajian ini bertujuan merumuskan model teologi PAK yang bersumber dari 1 Tesalonika 2:1-12 dengan menekankan dimensi relasional, keteladanan, dan formasi iman sebagai fondasi pedagogis. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan tinjauan biblikal kontekstual terhadap teks Alkitab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Paulus mengembangkan pola pelayanan relasional yang menampilkan kasih keibuan, ketegasan kebapaan, integritas moral, dan orientasi formasi iman yang holistik. Novelty penelitian ini terletak pada perumusan paradigma teologi PAK relasional-formasional sebagai alternatif terhadap pendekatan kognitif yang dominan dalam pendidikan iman kontemporer. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa esensi PAK terletak pada relasi kasih dan keteladanan hidup yang menuntun peserta didik kepada transformasi iman yang sejati di dalam Kristus.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and crises for Christian education, as algorithmic rationality has the potential to reduce holistic human formation to a merely technical process. This study aims to formulate the Beyond Algorithms paradigm, which positions Christian education as an embodiment of holistic mission in the AI era. Employing a qualitative approach based on theological and pedagogical literature studies, this research finds that Christian education must be grounded in the vision of the imago Dei, critically evaluate algorithmic reductionism, and develop integrative strategies that utilize AI as a tool for holistic mission. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of the Beyond Algorithms paradigm as an epistemological shift that organically integrates holistic mission theology, the metaphor of incarnation, and AI ethics-philosophy within the still underexplored discourse of Christian education. This paradigm emphasizes a transformative, relational, and shalom-oriented form of education that transcends computational logic. The implications suggest that Christian educational institutions need to restructure curricula, redefine the role of teachers, and reform governance in order to restore human dignity holistically in the AI era.   Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) menghadirkan peluang sekaligus krisis bagi pendidikan Kristen, karena rasionalitas algoritmik berpotensi mereduksi pembentukan manusia seutuhnya menjadi proses teknis semata. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan paradigma Beyond Algorithms yang menempatkan pendidikan Kristen sebagai inkarnasi misi holistik di era AI. Melalui metode kualitatif berbasis studi literatur teologis dan pedagogis, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pendidikan Kristen harus berpijak pada visi imago Dei, mengevaluasi reduksionisme algoritmik secara kritis, dan mengembangkan strategi integratif yang memanfaatkan AI sebagai alat misi holistik. Novelty penelitian ini terletak pada perumusan paradigma Beyond Algorithms sebagai pergeseran epistemologis yang mengintegrasikan teologi misi holistik, metafora inkarnasi, dan etika-filosofi AI secara organik dalam wacana pendidikan Kristen yang masih jarang dikaji. Paradigma ini menegaskan pendidikan yang transformatif, relasional, dan berorientasi shalom yang melampaui logika komputasional. Implikasinya, lembaga pendidikan Kristen perlu menata ulang kurikulum, peran guru, dan tata kelola demi pemulihan martabat manusia secara utuh di era AI.

Abstract

This study examines the didactic reconstruction of Christian Religious Education based on digital technology and local wisdom as an effort to overcome the challenges of the Strawberry Vulnerable Generation. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The results of the study show that the Strawberry Generation requires an adaptive, contextual, and transformative model of Christian Religious Education. The integration of digital technology through e-learning platforms, mobile applications, social media, and interactive media has been proven to be able to increase student involvement in the learning process. However, the use of technology needs to be balanced with strengthening local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation, solidarity, respect for the community, and contextual spirituality so that students are not trapped in individualism and instant culture. The didactic reconstruction of Christian Religious Education that was developed emphasizes the synergy between digital innovation and the preservation of local cultural values as the foundation for the formation of resilient Christian character. This research contributes to the development of Christian Religious Education learning models that are relevant to the digital native generation while strengthening faith and cultural identity in the digital era. Thus, Christian Religious Education based on digital technology and local wisdom can be a strategic approach in building a generation that is adaptive, critical, characterful, and resistant to the complexities of modern life.

Abstract

Abstract: The phenomenon of phubbing is increasingly prevalent among Christian adolescents and negatively impacts the quality of social and spiritual relationships that form the core of Christian values. This study aims to explore the strategic role of Christian Religious Education teachers in addressing phubbing among Christian adolescents through value-based pedagogical strategies that integrate theological and pedagogical dimensions. This study employs a qualitative method based on thematic analysis, with data drawn entirely from literature sources analyzed systematically through six thematic analysis steps. The novelty of this study lies in an integrative framework that connects the role of Christian Religious Education teachers as moral guides, spiritual role models, and contextual learning facilitators with value-based pedagogical strategies for addressing phubbing. The findings indicate that Christian Religious Education teachers play a strategic role in shaping adolescents' digital awareness through respect for others grounded in the imago Dei principle, time management through the digital sabbath concept, and interactive case-based discussion that guides adolescents to use technology wisely in accordance with Christian values.  Abstrak: Fenomena phubbing semakin marak di kalangan remaja Kristen dan berdampak negatif terhadap kualitas relasi sosial dan spiritual yang menjadi inti nilai-nilai kekristenan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran strategis guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dalam mengatasi perilaku phubbing pada remaja Kristen melalui strategi pedagogis berbasis nilai yang mengintegrasikan dimensi teologis dan pedagogis. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif berbasis analisis tematik dengan sumber data sepenuhnya berasal dari kajian literatur yang dianalisis secara sistematis melalui enam langkah analisis tematik. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada kerangka integratif yang menghubungkan peran guru PAK sebagai pembimbing moral, teladan spiritual, dan fasilitator pembelajaran kontekstual dengan strategi pedagogis berbasis nilai dalam mengatasi phubbing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAK berperan strategis dalam membentuk kesadaran digital remaja Kristen melalui penghormatan terhadap sesama berbasis prinsip imago Dei, pengelolaan waktu melalui konsep digital sabbath, serta diskusi interaktif berbasis studi kasus yang membimbing remaja memanfaatkan teknologi secara bijaksana sesuai nilai-nilai kekristenan.

Abstract

Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) yang bersifat relasional, personal, dan spiritual menghadapi tegangan mendasar dalam berhadapan dengan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) yang bekerja secara adaptif dan otomatis. Persoalan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah sejauh mana AI dapat berkontribusi terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran PAK berdasarkan teori pembelajaran efektif QAIT Robert E. Slavin, serta bagaimana pemanfaatannya dapat dipertanggungjawabkan secara etis sesuai nilai-nilai Alkitab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis) terhadap sumber-sumber akademik yang relevan. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada konstruksi kerangka konseptual yang secara bersamaan mengintegrasikan teori pembelajaran efektif QAIT Slavin, penerapan AI dalam PAK, dan etika digital Kristen, suatu integrasi yang belum ditemukan dalam kajian-kajian sebelumnya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa AI dapat memperkuat keempat elemen QAIT dalam PAK, yakni kualitas instruksi melalui corrective feedback yang segera, kesesuaian tingkat materi melalui sistem pembelajaran adaptif, motivasi melalui pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual dan bermakna secara rohani, serta efisiensi waktu instruksional yang memperluas ruang pembimbingan iman, sementara peran guru sebagai teladan iman dan pembimbing rohani tetap menjadi elemen yang tidak tergantikan dalam proses pendidikan Kristiani.
