Abstract

Monitoring the well-being of the fetus is an important part of managing pregnancy and childbirth, so it is necessary to carry out regular examinations of pregnant women and the fetus. These checks include checking the mother's weight, blood pressure, uterine fundal height, fetal heart rate and fetal movement in the uterus. All these are to prevent fetal death, although fetal death does not always occur in groups of high-risk pregnant women. Some deaths can actually occur in low-risk and even normal pregnancy groups. One way to solve the problems of pregnant women, especially pregnant women with a gestational age of more than 28 weeks in monitoring daily fetal movements, is to provide knowledge related to monitoring daily fetal movements as an effort to improve fetal well-being, and provide assistance in monitoring daily fetal movements which is facilitated by health personnels. Results of counseling and mentoring activities show that the average value of the mothers' knowledge has increased from 66.32 (pre-test) to 90.42 (posttest). 80% (35 mothers) monitored fetal movements routinely for 5 days and 20% (9 mothers) did not monitor routinely for 5 days. The average time it takes for a mother to feel 10 fetal movements is 8 hours. Providing education on how to widely monitor daily fetal movements is expected to increase the mothers’ ability to know the condition of the fetus they are carrying.

Abstract

Personal hygiene behavior is behavior that is carried out by someone to maintain personal hygiene to avoid diseases, especially skin diseases. This behavior cannot be separated from the knowledge that an individual has to help carry it out. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and personal hygienic behavior in children at the Rehabilitation Center for Children in Conflict with the Law. A cross-sectional approach was used for this study, with a total of 60 participants. The results showed that respondents had good knowledge of personal hygiene, namely 29 people (48.3%), and good personal hygiene behavior, namely 29 people (48.3%). The Chi-square bivariate analysis showed a p-value of 0.360, more than the value of 0.05, which means that Ha is denied, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between knowledge and personal hygiene behavior in children in rehabilitation institutions. The orphanages need to carry out strict monitoring and also support the fostered children regarding the importance of maintaining and caring for personal hygiene to avoid skin diseases so that it can generate motivation and enthusiasm for them to continue to routinely maintain personal hygiene.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem of low birth weight, especially in premature birth and LBW, needs to be handled properly and immediately. However, this process tends to be costly and high-maintenance, and the limited number of incubators can be an obstacle. KMC is one method to replace incubators effectively and efficiently. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of KMC on temperature and weight stability for premature babies at X Bekasi Hospital. This research method is a retrospective design with a control group pretest posttest design, which was conducted in August 2023–February 2024. We used total sampling, with a total sample of 72 respondents: 55 premature and LBW babies who were given KMC and 17 who were not given KMC. The results of the study obtained the average value of gestational age in the intervention vs. control group (32.84 vs. 34.33 weeks) and birth weight (1920.49 vs. 2270.47 grams). Weight gain in the intervention group during 2 weeks is 2039.69 grams, 2061.44 grams, 2083.80 grams, and 2105.95 grams. Temperature stability for 2 weeks is 36.40°C, 35.60°C, 36.90°C, and 37.30°C. The results show the mean gain weight in the control group is decreasing. KMC is effective for gestation age (p value 0.045) and weight (p value 0.003). KMC is effective for temperature (p value 0.000) and weight (p value 0.023) pre- and post-iintervention. will provide complementary therapies that are appropriate, effective, safe, and affordable for patients to support weight gain and temperature stability in premature infants. KMC results in better weight gain, decreases the risk of hypothermia, and stabilizes temperatures, so the treatment of the KMC method can be a substitute for the incubator in overcoming hypothermia and weight gain in premature infants. Keywords: Kangaroo Mother Care, Stabilizes Temperature, Birth Weight, And Premature ABSTRAK Permasalahan berat badan lahir rendah khususnya pada kelahiran prematur dan BBLR perlu ditangani dengan baik dan segera.

However, the implementation of nursing documentation that is not in accordance with the 3S standard is still widely found. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of 3S training on improving nursing care documentation. Methods: Quasi-experimental two group pretest posttest with control. Consecutive sampling and inclusion criteria were used to recruit 33 intervention participants and 28 control participants. Questionnaires and nursing care audit tools were used to collect data. Data were analyzed univariately, bivariately, and multivariately. The results: The effectiveness of 3S training (p=0.000) on improving the appropriateness of nursing care documentation was statistically significant. 3S nursing care training has a significant effect on the provision of nursing care in accordance with the 3S standard. The training carried out is effective in increasing nurses' knowledge of nursing care documentation using 3S. After the 3S training, nurses with an ners education were 3 times more likely to improve the appropriateness of nursing care documentation compared to those with a D-3 nursing, controlling for tenure. Nurses with 5 or more years of service were 7 times more likely to improve the appropriateness of nursing care documentation than those with less than 5 years, controlling for education. Discussion: There was a significant increase in the suitability of nursing care documentation in the intervention group given 3S training because the training provided using lecture methods, case studies and simulations could be understood by respondents. The control group that was not given the intervention did not have a significant increase in the suitability of nursing care documentation. Recomendation: The hospital should conduct 3S training for all nurses gradually, both new nurses andnurses who have been working for a long time. The nursing committees are expected to carry out monitoring and evaluation by auditing nursing care and making the results as one of the key performance indicators. Keywords: documentation; nursing service, training; SDKI, SLKI, SIKI
