Abstract

This study presents a novel approach to the automated detection of road surface defects using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and advanced image processing. The research background highlights the critical need for efficient and safe road infrastructure maintenance. Traditional methods, which rely on manual visual inspections, are often time-consuming, expensive, and expose inspectors to traffic risks. The primary objective is to design and validate an automated system for identifying and classifying various road surface defects, such as potholes, cracks, and rutting. The system aims to leverage aerial imagery captured by UAVs and process it with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The research seeks to demonstrate a solution that is faster, more accurate, and safer than manual inspection methods, paving the way for proactive road maintenance. The research methodology involves three key stages: data acquisition, model development, and validation. High-resolution images of various road defects are captured using a UAV. These images are then used to train a custom-designed CNN model. The model is trained to recognize and classify different types of defects with high precision. The results indicate that the combination of UAVs and CNNs is a robust and effective solution for road monitoring. The conclusion is that this automated system provides a scalable, safe, and highly accurate method for road surface defect detection.

Abstract

Timber has long been a cornerstone of the global economy, serving as a key raw material in construction, furniture manufacturing, and paper production. However, the growing concerns over deforestation, climate change, and resource depletion have raised questions about the sustainability of timber production and its long-term impact on the environment. Understanding the role of timber in the global economy from a sustainable perspective is crucial for balancing economic development with environmental conservation. This study aims to explore the economic importance of timber in various industries and evaluate its role in sustainable development. It seeks to assess the current trends in timber production and consumption while identifying the challenges and opportunities for promoting sustainable practices in the timber industry. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis of global timber trade statistics with qualitative case studies of sustainable forestry practices. Data from international trade reports, environmental NGOs, and industry surveys were analyzed to evaluate the economic contribution of timber and its environmental impact. The results reveal that timber remains a vital economic resource, contributing significantly to the global GDP, particularly in developing countries. However, unsustainable logging practices threaten forest ecosystems, which necessitates urgent policy interventions. The study highlights successful examples of sustainable forestry management and certification systems that can mitigate the negative environmental impacts of timber production. The findings suggest that while timber continues to be economically significant, sustainable forestry practices are essential for ensuring the long-term viability of the timber industry. Recommendations include strengthening international regulations, promoting sustainable forestry certification, and investing in forest restoration initiatives.

Abstract

Inclusive education in primary schools has become a central priority in global education agendas, emphasizing the right of learners with special educational needs to access quality education within mainstream classrooms. Despite strong policy commitments, effective classroom-level implementation remains uneven, highlighting the need for evidence-based strategies that translate inclusion principles into practice. This study aims to identify and examine evidence-based instructional and organizational strategies that effectively support learners with special educational needs in inclusive primary school settings. The study employed a mixed-methods design combining systematic evidence review, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of school documents across multiple inclusive primary schools. Quantitative descriptive and inferential analyses were integrated with qualitative thematic analysis to examine strategy implementation and learner outcomes. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction, individualized support services, and collaborative teaching practices significantly enhance learner participation, engagement, and classroom inclusion. Inferential analysis demonstrates that higher levels of strategy implementation are associated with stronger learner engagement, while qualitative findings reveal improved peer interaction, confidence, and instructional responsiveness. The study concludes that inclusive education is most effective when evidence-based strategies are implemented coherently and systematically. Sustainable inclusion in primary schools requires alignment between empirical evidence, instructional practice, and institutional support to ensure equitable learning opportunities for learners with special educational needs.

Abstract

Early childhood is a critical developmental period in which emotional foundations are formed through interactions with caregivers and the surrounding environment. Experiences such as emotional support, caregiving consistency, and early relational security have been widely recognized as influential, yet their long-term impact on emotional development across later life stages remains insufficiently integrated within developmental research. This study aims to explore the influence of early childhood experiences on long-term emotional development, with particular attention to emotional regulation and psychological well-being. Data were collected using standardized caregiver-report instruments, observational measures, and age-appropriate emotional regulation and well-being scales. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were applied to examine developmental relationships over time. The findings reveal that early emotional support and caregiving consistency are significant predictors of long-term emotional regulation and psychological well-being. Individuals exposed to emotionally responsive and stable early environments demonstrated greater emotional resilience and adaptive emotional functioning in later stages of development. The study concludes that early childhood emotional experiences constitute a foundational determinant of long-term emotional development.

Abstract

Mindfulness, the practice of paying focused attention to the present moment without judgment, has been shown to improve psychological well-being. As mental health concerns grow worldwide, mindfulness is gaining attention as a tool to enhance emotional regulation, reduce stress, and foster greater resilience. This study aims to investigate the psychological benefits of mindfulness and its influence on overall well-being. Specifically, it seeks to assess how regular mindfulness practice contributes to improvements in mental health, emotional stability, and life satisfaction. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data were collected from 300 participants who engaged in an 8-week mindfulness intervention. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) were used to measure stress levels and overall well-being before and after the intervention. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted to gather personal experiences. The findings revealed significant reductions in perceived stress and improvements in mental well-being. Participants reported feeling more emotionally balanced, present, and connected to their surroundings. This study concludes that mindfulness significantly benefits psychological well-being by reducing stress and improving emotional health. Incorporating mindfulness into daily routines can be a valuable tool for enhancing mental health.

Abstract

The background of this research focuses on the stability of quantum computing, which is a major challenge in the development of quantum technology. Superconducting qubits are known to be prone to errors due to environmental disturbances and noise, which hinders computational accuracy. Quantum error correction code (QECC) emerged as a solution to solve the problem by detecting and correcting errors that occur in qubits. This study aims to evaluate the application of QECC to superconducting qubits in improving the stability and accuracy of quantum computing. The method used was a quantitative experiment by comparing the qubit error rate before and after the implementation of QECC, with measurements on bit-flip, phase-flip, and decoherence errors. The results showed that the application of QECC successfully reduced the bit-flip and phase-flip error rates from 15.3% to 5.2% and 12.4% to 4.8%, respectively, while the decoherence decreased from 25.6% to 9.3%. These findings suggest that QECC can significantly improve the stability of quantum computing on superconducting qubits. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of QECC can be an important step in improving efficiency and accuracy in quantum computing systems, although there are still limitations related to scalability and resources required for deployment in larger systems

Abstract

Innovation has become a defining factor for organizational survival and competitiveness in the technology sector, where dynamic markets demand continuous adaptation and creativity. This study aims to examine the relationship between transformational leadership practices and the development of a culture of innovation within technology firms. A quantitative research design was employed using a cross-sectional survey distributed to 320 employees across ten leading technology companies in Southeast Asia. The Transformational Leadership Inventory (TLI) and Innovation Climate Scale (ICS) were utilized to assess leadership behavior and organizational culture, respectively. Statistical analyses, including structural equation modeling (SEM), revealed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.74, p < 0.01) between transformational leadership dimensions particularly intellectual stimulation and inspirational motivation and innovation culture indices. The findings indicate that leaders who encourage risk-taking, empower employees, and communicate a shared vision significantly enhance creativity and collective learning. The study concludes that transformational leadership serves as a critical driver in shaping an organizational climate conducive to innovation, underscoring the need for leadership development strategies centered on creativity and adaptability.

Abstract

Challenges such as limited infrastructure, financial constraints, and lack of awareness hinder the effective implementation of open access (OA) initiatives, hindering their continued growth as a means to democratize knowledge and increase research visibility, particularly in developing countries. This study aims to investigate the current state of open access publishing in developing countries, identifying challenges and opportunities that could shape the future of academic dissemination. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative surveys of researchers and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders, including publishers and policymakers. The study collected data from several developing countries to provide a comprehensive overview of the OA landscape. The findings indicate that while awareness and support for OA publishing are growing, significant barriers remain, including the lack of funding models and inadequate training for researchers on OA practices. The study concludes that fostering a culture of open access in developing countries is crucial for enhancing academic collaboration and information sharing. By addressing identified challenges, such as improving infrastructure and increasing financial support, stakeholders can create a more conducive environment for OA publishing. This study emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts between governments, institutions, and the academic community to harness the potential of open access, ultimately contributing to the advancement of knowledge and research equity in developing countries.

Abstract

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) remain a global health problem that requires early detection and rapid treatment. This study aims to design and fabricate microfluidic biochips for the early detection of several PMS-causing pathogens, such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Trichomonas vaginalis. This research method involves designing chips with microfluidic technology, fabrication using lithography techniques, and testing the sensitivity and specificity of blood, urine, and cervical fluid samples. The results show that the biochip developed has a sensitivity of up to 92% and a specificity of 95%, with a detection time of less than 10 minutes. The biochip is also capable of detecting a variety of pathogens in a single device, making it an efficient diagnostic tool. In conclusion, this microfluidic biochip has the potential to be a fast, cheap, and effective PMS detection tool for use in the field. Further research needs to be conducted to test the sustainability of chip performance under real-world conditions and for further development in the detection of various other pathogens.

Abstract

The success of creative startups is influenced by various factors, including the role of social networks and social support. As these ventures typically involve innovative ideas and high uncertainty, the social connections entrepreneurs establish can provide essential resources, knowledge, and emotional support. Understanding the impact of these social relationships on startup success is critical for entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers aiming to foster a conducive environment for growth in creative industries. This study aims to explore the influence of social networks and social support on the success of creative startups. It seeks to identify the types of social support that entrepreneurs rely on, the networks they engage with, and how these factors contribute to their business growth and sustainability. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Data was collected through surveys of 100 creative entrepreneurs in Indonesia, followed by in-depth interviews with 15 startup founders. The analysis involved statistical techniques to identify patterns in network usage and social support, alongside thematic coding for qualitative insights. The findings reveal that social support, particularly from professional networks and mentorship, is crucial for overcoming challenges in the early stages of startup development. Entrepreneurs with strong connections to industry peers, investors, and mentors reported higher levels of success in securing funding and achieving market growth. Emotional support from family and friends was also found to play a significant role in maintaining resilience and motivation. Social networks and support systems are essential drivers of success for creative startups. Entrepreneurs who actively cultivate these networks tend to navigate challenges more effectively and sustain long-term business growth.
