Abstract

Advertisement is an important element in the world of marketing that has a strategic role in influencing consumer behavior and creating awareness of a product. Advertisements not only play a role as a means of promotion, but also as a medium to influence consumer behavior and create an image of a product. Early in 2024, one of the largest mineral water products in Indonesia released its latest advertisement with the tagline "AQUA 100% MURNI, 100% INDONESIA". This latest version of the Aqua advertisement has its own uniqueness, namely by featuring an advertising star who is not like the usual advertisement featuring a famous public figure, but Aqua features one of its employees, this makes the current version of the Aqua advertisement interesting because it is different from previous Aqua advertisements. This study aims to analyze the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth contained in this latest version of the Aqua advertisement. This study uses a qualitative research method with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis technique.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena migrasi tenaga kerja Indonesia yang semakin meningkat, khususnya ibu-ibu yang bekerja di luar negeri demi peningkatan taraf ekonomi keluarga. Kabupaten Karawang menjadi salah satu wilayah dengan jumlah Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) yang cukup besar. Banyaknya ibu yang bekerja di luar negeri membawa konsekuensi emosional dan sosial yang signifikan bagi keluarga, terutama anak-anak yang ditinggalkan. Meski kepergian mereka biasanya didorong oleh alasan ekonomi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup yang lebih baik, kondisi ini membawa tantangan besar dalam menjaga komunikasi dan hubungan emosional dengan keluarga. Teknologi komunikasi seperti telepon, video call, dan media sosial memberikan alternatif, namun tidak sepenuhnya mampu menggantikan kehadiran fisik ibu di rumah. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengalaman komunikasi ibu pekerja migran Indonesia (PMI) yang bekerja di Taiwan dengan keluarga mereka di Indonesia. Pendekatan fenomenologi Alfred Schutz digunakan untuk memahami motif dan dinamika komunikasi jarak jauh yang melibatkan lima informan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa motif bekerja sebagai PMI terbagi menjadi because-motives (lapangan kerja sulit, faktor ekonomi, lingkungan sosial, dan status sebagai orang tua tunggal) dan in-order-to-motives (meningkatkan pendapatan, memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga, mendukung pendidikan anak, dan memiliki aset). Komunikasi jarak jauh memiliki dampak positif seperti membangun kemandirian anak, namun juga membawa dampak negatif berupa keterbatasan kehadiran fisik ibu dalam momen penting keluarga. Penelitian ini menyoroti peran teknologi komunikasi dalam menjaga keharmonisan keluarga dan pentingnya dukungan emosional dalam hubungan jarak jauh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang digunakan oleh brand Maternal Disaster dalam mempromosikan produknya melalui media sosial Instagram, dengan menggunakan pendekatan model Circular Some (Share, Optimize, Manage, Engage). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Narasumber terdiri dari pihak manajemen promosi Maternal Disaster serta beberapa konsumen aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan tidak hanya berfokus pada promosi produk semata, tetapi juga membangun keterlibatan emosional melalui konten visual, kolaborasi dengan influencer, serta respons yang cepat terhadap interaksi audiens. Strategi ini berhasil meningkatkan engagement, memperluas jangkauan audiens, serta mendorong konversi penjualan melalui Instagram. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Circular Some secara konsisten dapat memperkuat efektivitas komunikasi pemasaran di media sosial.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the dynamics of information dissemination through grapevine communication—an informal communication channel—and its impact on individuals' mental health in the workplace. Using a qualitative approach with participant observation methods, the researcher directly engaged in participants' daily lives to naturally observe how unofficial information is spread and received, as well as how the process affects psychological conditions. The findings indicate that grapevine communication can be a source of emotional tension, uncertainty, and insecurity, especially when circulating information is ambiguous or has the potential for conflict. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening interpersonal communication literacy and adopting empathy-based communication management to safeguard mental health amid the uncontrolled flow of informal information.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the approach process carried out by Gay Homosexuals in Karawang in their efforts to establish same-sex relationships in private through a Gay online dating application called Hornet, which is expected by users to foster interpersonal communication to establish relationships like normal relationships in general. . The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative research approach assisted by observation and interviews in data collection and documentation as supporting data in this research. The results of this research show that informants prove the effectiveness of the Hornet application in the success of the Gay relationships they build by going through several phases of the illustration of the theory of social penetration in interpersonal communication. However, it does not rule out the possibility that gay couples who are successful in establishing a relationship will encounter obstacles caused by internal and external factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui bagaimana dinamika pola komunikasi wanita karir dalam mengasuh anak. Dinamika tersebut akan membahas mengenai jenis pengasuhan yang diterapkan oleh wanita karir, hambatan yang dirasakan ketika menjadi wanita karir dan juga strategi yang diterapkan oleh wanita karir dalam menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan anak. Wanita karir yang berprofesi sebagai dosen dan memiliki jabatan tertentu di lingkup akademisi tentunya memiliki tantangan yang unik dalam menjalankan peran gandanya sebagi ibu dan istri. Data yang didapatkan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan informan, menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh informan berbeda-beda. Pola komunikasi yang diterapkan wanita karir dalam mengasuh anak yaitu pola komunikasi pengasuhan permisif, pola komunikasi pengasuhan demokratis, dan pola komunikasi pengasuhan otoriter. Wanita karir cenderung akan mengalami hambatan dari segi waktu yang berkurang bersama anak dan keluarga. Adanya dinamika dalam pola komunikasi wanita karir ketika mengasuh anak tentunya memiliki strategi yang diterapkan agar terjalin hubungan yang baik dengan anak. Strategi yang diterapkan oleh wanita karir yaitu menerapkan keterbukaan dengan anak, memiliki rasa empati, dukungan, dan juga memiliki rasa kepercayaan kepada anak. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam bagi wanita karir yang memiliki peran ganda sebagai ibu mengenai komunikasi pengasuhan anak khususnya pada anak usia 0-7 tahun. Keterbatasan pada penelitian ini ialah hanya mengidentifikasi working moms dengan pekerjaan dosen. Kata Kunci: Wanita Karir, Komunikasi Orang Tua dan Anak, Pola Asuh Orang Tua, Dosen

Abstract

The use of smartphones has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic. This is due to the government's policy of restricting human-to-human gatherings in order to avoid the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. People's lives are being made easier as communication and information technology advances; the world appears to be shrinking, and distance and time are no longer obstacles to humans meeting their needs. Technological advancements must be accompanied by an increase in the community's ability to use technology in order for it to be used optimally, particularly in efforts to improve the family economy. This community service aims to increase public awareness of the use of Internet-based media for digital marketing purposes. Community service is accomplished through direct exposure, discussion, and practice. This study was followed by mothers and women in the Waluya village. The information provided was about digital marketing and how to use it to improve the family economy by starting a home-based industry-based business. Mothers and women in Waluya Village are becoming more knowledgeable, and there is a greater interest in starting an online store to help the family economy.

Abstract

The advancement of communication and information technology in Indonesia has become one of its strengths for handling maternal and infant mortality in Indonesia; with good skills in managing information using advanced technology and information sources from a midwife, the public will more easily recognize the signs of an emergency felt by pregnant women. and will give birth. This community service activity is carried out to increase the knowledge and ability of midwives to manage sources of maternal and newborn health information. The activity was carried out in Waluya District, Karawang Regency, and was attended by 20 midwives in the area. The activity found an increase in the knowledge and ability of midwives to manage digital information by 40%.

Abstract

There is no denying that the COVID-19 pandemic, which broke out at the start of 2020, had an influence on Indonesia's family economy, both positively and negatively. A decline in family income levels is one of the COVID-19 pandemic's negative effects on Indonesian families, although there are also beneficial effects, such as increased usage of digital technologies worldwide, including in Indonesia. Teaching women how to be productive without having to leave the house while still being able to fulfil their responsibilities as mothers is one of the answers suggested by academics from Singaperbangsa Karawang University. This time at the community service, the volunteer proposes a way to improve mothers' knowledge by giving them training in operating digital stores using their social media. This service will be provided to mothers who are members of the Bandung Regency Family Empowerment and Welfare Group of mothers. Participants in this programme should gain an understanding of how women can manage digital shops to boost family income.

Abstract

Symbolic violence is a form of violence that occurs through language, symbols, or actions that demean, discriminate, or exploit a person or group. Preventing symbolic violence can be done by increasing awareness about symbolic violence and its impact on society, respecting diversity and avoiding stereotypes that demean or discriminate against certain groups, encouraging critical thinking and self-reflection in individuals and groups to avoid actions or speech that can cause symbolic violence, develop policies that are inclusive and respect diversity in educational environments, workplaces and communities. For this reason, it is necessary to collaborate between service members who are lecturers at Singaperbangsa University Karawang and students of SMA 1 Teluk Jambe in Karawang Regency which aims to identify symbolic violence that occurs in society and socialize the Anti-Symbolic Violence Movement through the Snake and Ladder Game. By combining these approaches, it is hoped that it will be easier to identify symbolic violence and take steps to prevent and overcome the problem early on.
