Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of clustering technique to teach writing descriptive texts. This research was conducted to Year – 8 students of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018 by administering a written test before and after the treatments. The researcher applied a pre-experimental design. The population of this research was all of Year – 8 students of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018, and the sample was taken from Year – 8 Class C which consists of 33 students. The data were analyzed by using t-test and effect size formula. The findings showed that the students’ mean score of post-test (72.22) was higher than the students’ mean score of pre-test (44.19). On the other hand, the findings also showed that the t-test (16.94) was higher than t-table (1.697) and the effect size (2.88) was categorized as strong effect. In conclusion, the use of clustering technique is significantly effective in teaching writing descriptive texts. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis which stated “Clustering technique is significantly effective to teach writing descriptive texts to Year – 8 of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018” was accepted.                                                                                        Key words: Clustering Technique, Teaching Writing, Descriptive Texts, Pre  Experimental Study

Abstract

This research aimed to describe how picture series improved students’ skill in writing recount text. This research was conducted to Year-8 students of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2023/2024. The students in class VIII B that consist of 23 students were the subject of this research. The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research which has been conducted in two cycles. The researcher used observation checklist table, field notes and writing test as the tools of data collection in this research, and the data has been analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively by referring to the result of tools of data collection. The finding showed that the use of picture series improved students’ skill in writing recount text. Students’ participation, students’ mastery of writing recount text, students’ writing test score and class situation had a better improvement from the first cycle to the second cycle. It could be concluded that students’ skill in writing recount text through picture series improved.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of tourism in the village in an effort to optimize the village's potential to be utilized as a tourist village destination. The role of the community in this development is a form of shared commitment. However, in this development effort literacy related to tourism awareness is still low and must be overcome so that community awareness of tourism villages can be realized. This study uses field research (field research) with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the research conducted, the development of the Kertosari tourism village is a tourist destination that combines aspects of recreation and education by optimizing the potential that the village has. In the scope of increasing the community's economy, the presence of tourist villages has a very positive impact, especially on the sale of agricultural products. Suggestions that can be conveyed are the importance of the role of tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) in increasing the existence of the Kertosari tourist village both in terms of the number of tourists and community economic empowerment through the use of social media as a means of digital tourism information. This shows that the role of Pokdarwis is not only as tourism manager but also as tourism marketing

Abstract

Karangpawitan Health Center in 2023 was the largest population that experienced referrals and there was an increase from the previous year, which was 36% to 37.4%, so that various factors can affect the occurrence of hypertension, especially in the elderly. One alternative non-pharmacological treatment for hypertension patients is giving 200 grams of ripe papaya. Mineral content, ripe papaya has a potassium content of 257 mg/100 g and very little sodium content. The high incidence of hypertension needs to be prevented because hypertension can cause death. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of papaya juice on blood pressure in menopause with hypertension. This research method uses a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest one group design. The population in this study were all pregnant women who underwent examinations and were diagnosed with hypertension as many as 36 people, the sample technique used total sampling with a sample size of 36 respondents. The instruments used were equipment to measure blood pressure and a set of tools to record the results. Data analysis used a one-group t-test. The results of the study showed that the average systolic blood pressure before being given chayote was 145.44 and diastolic was 93.89, while after being given papaya juice it was 134.83 and diastolic was 87.50. The bivariate results showed p = 0.000. There is a significant effect of giving papaya juice on hypertension in menopausal women. It is recommended for menopausal women to increase their knowledge about how to lower blood pressure during pregnancy, one of which is by non-pharmacological means by consuming papaya juice either in the form of juice or however it is according to taste, the important thing is in a safe dose

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Islamic business ethics in determining market equilibrium prices based on Ibn Khaldun's thoughts. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through documentation techniques, observation and interviews with informants. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that at different levels, traders with small capital tend to have poor moral values such as cheating, playing with the scales, and playing with prices. Buyers tend to suffer losses and experience fraud in buying and selling. Meanwhile, the current market price determination is not based on the theory of demand and supply, but the price is high because the price is taken from the agent where the trader takes the merchandise, the seller only adjusts the price and on the other hand the high demand is caused by the behavior of certain individuals or middlemen who cheat by hoarding goods with the aim of taking advantage of the scarcity of supply by raising the price of goods above the normal price when many goods are needed.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the strategic potential of Islamic boarding schools regarding self-reliance, independence, and community participation, in the context of developing the people's economy, then the actualization of independence and entrepreneurial skills of students through the Tsanawiyah 4 Santri Bazaar Program at the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School. This program is designed to provide practical experience in running a business, as well as developing an entrepreneurial spirit among students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that this bazaar program has succeeded in developing the independence of students, which is shown through increased initiative, responsibility, and independent decision-making abilities. In addition, students also show increased entrepreneurial skills, including business management, marketing strategies, and financial management. Students learn to work in teams, overcome challenges, and innovate in attracting customers. The Tsanawiyah 4 Santri Bazaar Program not only contributes to the development of practical skills, but also builds the character of students who are creative, independent, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Thus, this program can be used as a model for other Islamic boarding schools in integrating entrepreneurship education into their curriculum. Recommendations for further development include increasing the intensity of entrepreneurship training, providing adequate resources, and collaborating with the surrounding community to expand the impact of the program.

Abstract

Dowry in marriage is one of a woman's absolute rights or the wife's rights as a result of marriage. The dowry is given by the prospective husband as part of an expression of the seriousness of a man's desire for a woman, as well as a sign of a prospective husband's affection for his prospective wife. The dowry is also used as a symbol of appreciation to glorify, honor, and is a symbol of the desire to make the woman who will become his wife happy. Providing a dowry is a form of protecting women's rights to take care of and manage their rights. This means that Islam highly upholds women's rights while providing legal protection to women. In this case, the author makes an important note about how a wife should know and receive her dowry after the marriage contract takes place. By knowing and receiving her dowry, a woman, in this case a wife, knows her rights clearly and can then manage and utilize those rights as one of her economic rights without obstacles and difficulties. Dowry is an absolute right that women must have, not just a formality during the marriage contract. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the dowry, both regarding the form, type and exact amount so that women's economic rights can be fulfilled both in marriage and after divorce.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan konsep pengendalian internal sebagai upaya meminimalisir tagihan biaya pendidikan pada sekolah swasta. Penelitian ini berawal dari hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan dan menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan pendidikan merupakan salah satu masalah bangsa yang belum dapat ditemukan solusinya secara tuntas. Jika kita mencermati dan ikuti perkembangan pendidikan khususnya dalam hal biaya pendidikan sampai saat ini, biaya tersebut dirasakan semakin mahal. Abstract

In the digital era, Islamic education faces significant challenges, particularly in maintaining the harmony between knowledge and adab (ethical conduct). These challenges materialize in the form of moral disconnection among students, digital distractions that weaken focus, and the commodification of knowledge driven by market interests. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas identifies the erosion of adab as the root crisis in Islamic education. This study aims to explore al-Attas’s concepts of knowledge and adab, examining their relevance in reimagining Islamic education amid digital transformation. Relying on a library research method, the study employs philosophical exegesis and textual hermeneutics to critically analyze al-Attas’s seminal works, especially Islam and Secularism and The Concept of Education in Islam. Key concepts such as the loss of adab, confusion of knowledge, and the Islamic worldview are discussed as foundations for an integrated educational model. The findings emphasize that the principle of ta’dib which integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual development is crucial for addressing contemporary issues. This research contributes a contemporary reinterpretation of ta’dib, offering both theoretical insights and practical applications for Islamic education in the digital context. Proposed strategies include ethical digital literacy, value-based teacher training, and curriculum design grounded in Islamic metaphysics. The study advocates that technology must serve to reinforce the Islamic worldview rather than secularize it. Ultimately, this work proposes a framework that reconnects knowledge with adab, ensuring Islamic education remains morally grounded and intellectually relevant in the face of digital challenges.

Abstract

Integrating science and religious knowledge is crucial in Islamic higher education, especially at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, amid contemporary challenges that demand holistic approaches. While previous studies have addressed knowledge integration, few have explored its practical implementation within Islamic educational settings. This study investigates how Nurcholis Madjid’s thought contributes to integrating science and religion at this institution. Employing a qualitative method with a literature review, data were collected from scholarly articles, books, and academic publications related to science-religion integration, focusing on Nurcholis Madjid’s perspectives. Data collection involved systematic searches across academic databases and libraries, followed by thematic analysis through coding, categorization, and synthesis to identify patterns supporting integration within the curriculum. The findings reveal that applying integration concepts at UIN Sunan Ampel enriches Islamic knowledge and fosters adaptive students responsive to modern developments. In conclusion, integrating science and religion enhances the relevance of Islamic education today and promotes a more tolerant and inclusive society.  Integrasi ilmu pengetahuan dan pengetahuan agama merupakan isu penting dalam pendidikan tinggi Islam, khususnya di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, di tengah tantangan kontemporer yang membutuhkan pendekatan holistik. Meskipun studi sebelumnya telah membahas integrasi ilmu pengetahuan, sedikit yang mengeksplorasi implementasi praktisnya dalam lingkungan pendidikan Islam. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana pemikiran Nurcholis Madjid berkontribusi pada integrasi ilmu pengetahuan dan agama di institusi tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui tinjauan pustaka, data dikumpulkan dari artikel ilmiah, buku, dan publikasi akademik yang berkaitan dengan integrasi ilmu pengetahuan dan agama, khususnya yang berfokus pada perspektif Nurcholis Madjid. Proses pengumpulan data melibatkan pencarian sistematis di basis data akademik dan perpustakaan, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik melalui pengkodean, pengkategorian, dan sintesis untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola yang mendukung integrasi dalam kurikulum. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep integrasi di UIN Sunan Ampel memperkaya ilmu Islam dan membentuk mahasiswa yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman. Kesimpulannya, integrasi ilmu pengetahuan dan agama meningkatkan relevansi pendidikan Islam masa kini dan mendorong masyarakat yang lebih toleran serta inklusif.
