Abstract

An agricultural business is a business that is always characterized by variability in results or high risk. Good farming must be supported by farmers' income by looking at the ratio of income to farming costs incurred. This research aims to analyze the comparative risk of production, income, and feasibility of rainfed lowland rice farming. The research was conducted in Maros Regency, namely Minasa Baji Village, Bantimurung District, and Bonto Cabu Village, Lau District. Meanwhile, Barru Regency is Sape'e Village, Barru District and Lempang Village, Tanete Riaja District. This research was carried out in April - March 2023. The population of this study were all farmers who cultivated rice in rainfed rice fields at the research location. The total population is 1,259 farmers, consisting of 634 in Maros Regency and 544 in Pangkajene Islands Regency. The number of respondents was 100 farmers. The sample was selected using the proportional random sampling method. The data collection techniques used were observations and interviews. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques with the independent sample t-test. The research results show that farmers are at risk in terms of production in Maros Regency and Barru Regency. The results of the t-test analysis showed no differences in production risk at the two locations. The income earned by Maros Regency is greater than Barru Regency. The results of the t-test analysis show differences in income from the two districts. Maros Regency's income is IDR 6,405,167.20 and Barru Regency's income is IDR 6,055,875.06. Rainfed lowland rice farming in Maros Regency and Barru Regency is worth pursuing. The results of the t-test analysis show a difference, namely that the feasibility of Maros Regency is greater than that of Barru Regency. Maros Regency has a feasibility value of 2.25 and Barru Regency is 2.07.

Abstract

Coping mechanisms greatly help schizophrenia patients deal with psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thoughts, as well as manage the emotional and social effects of their illness. The purpose of this concept analysis is to gain a more detailed and in-depth understanding of the use of coping mechanisms as part of schizophrenia therapy. This concept analysis uses the Walker and Avant approach with relevant literature findings related to the concept were obtained through concept databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, etc. Keywords used in the literature search include "Coping mechanisms", and "Scizophrenia". The inclusion criteria for articles were articles written in English and Indonesian, full text, and articles published in the last 5 years from 2019-2024 and open access as many as 7 articles. The results Adaptive coping mechanisms, such as problem solving and seeking social support, can help patients deal with stress, reduce symptoms, and improve their quality of life. Conversely, maladaptive coping strategies, such as avoidance or denial, actually risk worsening the patient's condition, increasing social isolation, and increasing the likelihood of symptom recurrence. It is hoped that more in-depth education about effective coping mechanisms needs to be included in nurse training and patient counseling.

Abstract

The occurrence of a natural disaster on 28 September 2018 in the province of Central Sulawesi Indonesia caused vehicle tax arrears to be incurred by people who were victims of natural disasters. This research is socio-legal research with a statutory and comparative approach to find out the legal arrangements related to tax collection after natural disasters and to compare it with the practices in New South Wales, Australia. This study concluded that there is no specific regulation that differentiates the mechanism of tax collection during normal times and the period after a natural disaster in Indonesia. Local governments are given the authority to regulate it based on the scale of the disaster and the affected areas/people in which people lose their homes and livelihoods so they cannot fulfill their obligations to pay for vehicle tax. This resulted in the arrears of tax collection carried out by the fiscus and become an obstacle for local governments to collect taxes as a source of financing rebuilding infrastructure after a natural disaster. As a comparison, an integrated tax reduction system was applied for disaster victims in New South Wales, including for the vehicle tax. The whole process was done online. Indonesia needs to build such a system to anticipate the bad impact of tax collection that can make disaster victims suffer psychologically.

Abstract

Political parties play a strategic role in democratic governance, serving as key instruments in fostering democracy. However, a decline in public trust has emerged due to the perception that political parties prioritize power politics over their educational function, reducing them to mere tools of political control. This study employs legislative, conceptual, and comparative approaches to develop a framework for strengthening the role of political parties, particularly in enhancing political education as a prerequisite for democracy. It examines two key issues: whether the current regulation of political party functions aligns with Indonesia’s democratic development model and how these functions can be reinforced to promote public political education. The findings indicate that the existing political party law has not effectively facilitated political education, failing to enhance civic awareness and responsibility in accordance with Indonesia’s democratic principles. To address this, the legal framework governing political parties must institutionalize political education and ensure that ethical and moral values serve as guiding principles in decision-making processes.
