Abstract

This study seeks to comprehend in-depth how social entrepreneurship (SE) practices from a business standpoint in Islamic boarding schools, as well as what values emerge in SE practices. The qualitative research design is descriptive exploratory, with a holistic single-case study conducted at the Sidogiri Islamic boarding school in Pasuruan, Indonesia. In-depth interviews, field observations, focused discussions, and a review of supporting documents were employed to collect data. Purposive sampling was used to select key informants, and the snowball sampling technique was used to select other informants based on key informant recommendations. After maintaining quality standards through data triangulation, observers and sources, and member checks, data analysis employs an interactive model. According to the findings, SE practices are implemented through a combination of corporate social responsibility programs, bottom-of-the-pyramid orientation, other SE activities, and spirituality. The distinction of SE development in the Islamic boarding school-based business perspective in Indonesia is this balance. The balance of the SE program, as reflected in the holistic blended value, is critical to the business's existence and sustainability. The last section goes over the implications and future research.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of transformational leadership and work motivation on performance of the administrators of the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Malang, East Java. This study uses a quantitative approach and data collection through questionnaires distributed to 33 boarding school administrators. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that transformational leadership significantly affects the performance of the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School administrators. However, work motivation has no significant effect on the performance of the management. The results of this study provide positive implications for the leadership of Islamic boarding schools in improving the performance of the management through the implementation of transformational leadership values such as charisma, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and attention to individuals.

Abstract

Employee performance is an important factor in determining organizational success. Previous studies on employee performance are dominated by the business sector. Whereas the performance of non-business organizations such as Islamic boarding schools also requires administrators to provide high performance as business organizations. Along with modern developments, Islamic boarding schools are required to adapt to a new environment that allows pressure on the management. The demands of adaptive Islamic boarding schools also allow administrators to feel like or dislike their work. This study aims to analyze the performance in Islamic boarding schools influenced by the variables of stress and job satisfaction. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 60 administrators of Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Malang, Indonesia, using the census method and analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results showed that job stress had a significant effect on the performance of Miftahul Ulum Islamic boarding school administrators. However, job satisfaction has no significant effect on the performance of Miftahul Ulum Islamic boarding school administrators. The results of this study have positive implications for the leadership of Islamic boarding schools to improve performance through human resource management.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan masjid yang sangat besar di Indonesia namun tidak diikuti dengan pengelolaan yang baik telah menjadi masalah mendasar dalam hal fungsi masjid. Secara umum pemaknaan fungsi masjid hanya seputar tempat ibadah, namun mengabaikan fungsi peradaban Islam yang holistik. Maka diperlukan upaya untuk mendorong optimalisasi fungsi masjid secara berkelanjutan dan komprehensif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mengarah pada orientasi tersebut melalui pelatihan manajemen masjid dan pendampingan aplikasi digital MosQ. Para peserta program ini adalah pengurus takmir masjid lima kecamatan di Kota Malang yaitu kecamatan Lowokwaru, Blimbing, Kedungkandang, Sukun dan Klojen yang dijadikan pilot project. Mereka dilatih tentang manajemen masjid dan didampingi dalam penggunaan aplikasi digital MosQ sebagai implementasi materi manajemen masjid. Kemudian mereka diberi amanat untuk memberikan pendampingan serupa kepada pengurus masjid lainnya di masing-masing kecamatan. Hasil program pelatihan manajemen masjid ini menambah wawasan dan membuka cara pandang pengurus takmir masjid yang lebih terbuka. Pemanfaatan aplikasi digital MosQ memberikan kemudahan dalam tata kelola administrasi dan manajemen masjid yang lebih transparan dan dapat dipertanggung jawabkan secara umum dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Peran strategis industri gula dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional namun tidak diimbangi dengan pemahaman terhadap risiko telah menjadi masalah serius dalam tata kelola. Karena itu, diperlukan upaya strategis untuk memberikan pemahaman secara komprehensif melalui pelatihan manajemen risiko bagi karyawan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berorientasi pada tujuan strategis tersebut dengan memberikan pemahaman teoretis dan praktis dalam mengenali, menilai, dan mengendalikan risiko. Kegiatan ini dirancang menggunakan pendekatan capacity building berbasis standar ISO 31000 dengan menekankan pentingnya proses terstruktur dalam mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, serta mengendalikan risiko. Evaluasi capaian kegiatan dilakukan pengukuran pre-test dan post-test terhadap peserta pelatihan. Untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan tingkat pemahaman dan kesadaran risiko dilakukan pula uji statistik. Hasil program pengabdian memberikan manfaat positif dan menjadi pendekatan efektif dalam memperkuat kapasitas karyawan terhadap kesiapsiagaan risiko. Selain itu ada perbedaan signifikan terhadap pemahaman risiko sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti pelatihan. Program ini berkontribusi praktis dalam implementasi penguatan kapasitas karyawan dan berkontribusi konseptual dalam pengembangan evaluatif dalam studi pengabdian masyarakat.
