Abstract

This paper examines the contribution of sociology to the Islamic proselytization. In the context of epistemology, it has the opportunity to develop based on five aspects: factors, systems, interpretative, developmentalism and participatory. The five principles can be developed based on sociological theories. Among these theories, for example are the phenomenology of Islamic proselytization, the social construction of Islamic proselytization, dramaturgy of Islamic proselytization, hermeneutics of Islamic proselytization, communicative acts of Islamic proselytization, and ethnomethodology of Islamic proselytization. Through a sociological approach, the Islamic proselytization will be able to develop more quickly. In further, it can be said that the inclusion of social science is a form of pattern of science development based on the integration of science, namely the phenomenon of Islamic proselytization as an object of study and utilizing other sciences as an approach.

Abstract

The relationship between Islam and the West faces increasing tension nowadays. This tension is triggered by many terrorist acts in western countries. The West points out that Islam stands behind this ongoing terror, while Muslims are reluctant to be accused as perpetrators of terror. Terrorism in western countries emerges not only because of social, religious, ideological, and political movements, but also due to the expansion of the industrialization process which has resulted in negative effects for certain countries. The United States of America has contributed to this tension. A double standard by the West when promoting and implementing human right issues, especially in Israel and Palestine, has become another trigger for the growing tension between Islam and the West. This article examines this problem by analyzing the perspectives of Indonesian Muslim thinkers.

Abstract

Islamic and political discourse in Indonesia has had a long experience. Since Indonesia’s independence, the discourse on political Islam has become a fundamental conversation, especially at the beginning of independence. The conversation continued well in the New Order era and got strengthened in the era of bureaucratic reform. If in the New Order era, political Islam was strongly suppressed, so that it had almost no land to develop, then in the era of bureaucratic reform it became even stronger. The emergence of radical and extreme Islamic groups marked the growing strength of the Islamic era which carried the khilāfah movement. In the midst of this reality, moderate Islam emerged, which carried the theme of Nusantara Islam and Progressive Islam. Both of them were imaginatively contemplated by the Nur Syam with the conception of Progressive Nusantara Islam projected to be a permanent solution to overcome the radical Islam in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper examines the contribution of sociology to the making of dakwah studies. From epistemological point of view, dakwah studies develops through five elements: factors, systems, interpretative, developmentalism and participatory. These five elements can be developed based on sociological theories. Through a sociological approach, dakwah studies will be able to contribute to general discussion on the sociology of Muslim societies. The article further argues the inclusion of social science is a pattern of knowledge development based on the integration of science, namely the phenomenon of dakwah as an object of study, while utilizing other social science as approaches.

Abstract

As science, the science of da'wah has a paradigm and theory that enables the da'wah science to develop. There are five da'wah paradigms that can be further studied are paradigm factors, paradigm systems, interpretive paradigms, paradigm developmentalism and participatory paradigms. From this paradigm the theory can then be developed based on the theories of sociology. Among these theories, for example are the theories of da'wah phenomenology, da'wah social construction theory, da'wah dramaturgy theory, da'wah hermeneutics theory, da'wah communicative action theory, da'wah ethnometodology theory and so on. Through a sociological approach to the facts or reality of the da'wah, the science of da'wah will be able to develop more quickly. In the future, it should be considered about further development of the sociology of da'wah, psychology of da'wah, anthropology of da'wah, communication of da’wah etc., by utilizing the pattern of developing science based on the integration of science, namely the phenomenon of da'wah as an object of study and utilizing other sciences as an approach.

Abstract

This study discusses buying and selling activities in the present context. A process of changing buying and selling activities that were originally traditional or conventional to digital. Due to the rapid development of technology, it is finally making changes to buying and selling activities that were originally by way of direct transactions face to face between sellers and buyers, now sellers and buyers only transact via virtual or online using certain platforms. This study uses a qualitative research method, where the researcher aims to describe and analyze changes in people's behavior related to buying and selling activities from an offline system to an online one. Social change in society is not a result or a product but a process. This change process is of course the result of an agreement or joint decision taken by an individual or a community group. The decisions taken are of course in accordance with the wishes or expectations of the group so that social change can be realized.

Abstract

Research on the productivity of Songket Subhanale weaving in forming Sasak women’s Economic Independence was carried out because of the researchers’ interest in the reality of weaving culture in Sukarara, Central Lombok. Sukarara Village is one of the villages that is still sustainable in carrying out the authentic traditions of Sasak culture. One of them is the culture of weaving in the Sasak term “nyesek” which is done manually by hand and simple tools but has economic value and the output has a high selling potential. The above reality is scientifically studied through qualitative research with an ethnographic approach to obtain definite and academically accountable answers. Qualitative ethnographic research provides an opportunity to examine holistically and specifically, related to the behavior, attitudes and characters inherent in the weavers in their daily activities. The findings in this study refer to two things as formulated in the research problem formulation, namely: 1) The productivity of Muslim songket weavers in Sukarara in carrying out their profession as songket weavers, they are very productive, this is illustrated through several indicators, namely: increased results achieved, ability doing the job, morale, self-development, quality / quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. 2) The implications of work ethic and productivity on the economic independence of Muslim songket weavers in Sukarara have been realized through several indicators, namely: working capitalists, breadwinners/family breadwinners, having confidence in business, able to manage finances, mentally prepared for financial disturbances, creative and initiative , and partners/husbands in synergy by prioritizing mutual respect between each other and having a commitment to complement each other.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand how the application of persuasive communication in explaining religious moderation, especially that which is applied to the Youtube content of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, entitled "why should religious moderation". This research method uses a qualitative approach and a document study method, with the unit of analysis in the form of social artifacts. The results of this study indicate that in one-way communication through this Youtube video content, it is found the use of integration techniques, reward or pay-off techniques, fear-arusing techniques and icing techniques. The use of integration techniques can cause the communicant to feel that they are facing a problem and have the same position as the communicator. Fear arousing can produce the effect of communicants thinking they want to avoid it so as not to get bad like the video exemplified. The payoff technique shows the communicant knows the benefits that can be obtained by implementing the offered solution, namely religious moderation. The arrangement technique can be used to attract the attention of the communicant emotionally, by arranging sentences so that the communicant can understand it logically, and answering the doubts they have.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan memahami: (1) persepsi Kyai dan pengelola bisnis  terhadap manajemen risiko,  (2) penerapan nilai-nilai Islam dalam pengelolaan bisnis dan manajemen risiko, (3) persepsi Kyai dan pengelola bisnis   terhadap penciptaan nilai perusahaan,  dan  (4)  pendistribusian  nilai  perusahaan  kepada  pemangku  kepentingan. Setting penelitian adalah bisnis di Pondok Pesantren Sunan Drajat, Lamongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan postpositivist, teologi, dan intuitif. Desain penelitian studi kasus interpretatif tipe “single case”. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Model Interaktif dari Milles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan   bahwa: (1) Manajemen risiko merupakan proses untuk mengeliminir risiko dengan menempatkan  niat yang kuat sebagai esensi yang mendasari praktik manajemen risiko dan adanya kekuatan spiritual berupa khusnuzhzhan kepada Allah SWT dengan bermuara pada maslahah menuju falah. (2) Penerapan nilai-nilai Islam yang membingkai aktivitas bisnis telah membuktikan bisnis telah berkembang pesat. Bahkan nilai Islam ‘an taraadhin minkum  menjadi central value  yang akhirnya berkembang menjadi budaya perusahaan, sedangkan nilai-nilai Islam yang melekat pada praktik manajemen risiko menunjukkan adanya jiwa kewirausahaan sejati pada diri seluruh pengelola. (3) Nilai perusahaan yang tercipta dari praktik manajemen risiko dipandang dalam aspek materi/ekonomi dan immateri, yang dalam aplikasinya telah mampu memberikan kesejahteraan dan kebahagiaan lahiriyah dan batiniyah bagi seluruh pemangku kepentingan, (4) Nilai perusahaan tersebut didistribusikan kepada seluruh pemangku kepentingan baik pemangku kepentingan manusia maupun alam sebagai perwujudan dari maslahah yang menjadi tujuan didirikannya bisnis.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the relationship between Islam and Pancasila in the midst of the struggle for world ideology that continues to exist in the midst of the nation state. In the past, ideological battles took place between the United States and its allies with the Soviet Union and its allies. After the destruction of communist ideology in Eastern Europe under the rule of the Soviet Union, the ideology of capitalism seemed to be a single ideology which ruled over countries in many countries. Indonesia, which has Pancasila as an ideology of nationality, is certainly also suitable in the battle arena. In Indonesia, there was also an internal battle between political Islam, moderate Islam and Nationalist Islam. This position is interesting to be observed in the present and future era, in its consideration with how to practice Islam on the one hand with the practice of Pancasila on the other. So far many views have been expressed between Islam and Pancasila. Through library research by studying content analysis, it is concluded that the ideology of Pancasila has strength as a counterweight between ideological battles both internally and internationally. Pancasila has proven to be a unifying ideology for the Indonesian people.الملخص:كتبت هذه المقالة لأجل التّصور عن حضور علاقة الإسلام ومبادئ الخمسة وسط مبارة الإيديولوجية العالمية. فمن المعلوم، حدث مبارة الإيديولوجية العالمية الماضية بين دولة Amerika Serikat وحليفتهم مع دولة Uni Soviet وحليفتهم. وعندما الإيديولوجية الشيوعية للدول بأوروبا الشرقية هالكة، فأصبحت الإيديولوجية الرأسمالية أحد الإيديولوجية المستخدمة في مختلف الدّول. ولكن، لا يشترك دولة إندونيسيا وسط هذه المبارة. لأنّ الإيديولوجية المستخدمة في دولة إندونيسيا هي المبادئ الخمسة. ولكن الواقع، حدثت المبارة الداخلية بإندونيسيا بين الإسلام السياسية والإسلام الوسطية والإسلام الوطنية. فأصبحت المشكلة الواقعة حالية وآتية بإندونيسيا جذّابة للبحث، ولاسيّما المشكلة في تنفيذ شريعة الإسلام بجانب تنفيذ المبادئ الخمسة كإيديولوجية الدولة. وبنسبة إلى آراء الجامع، فتبدو موقع الإسلام ومبادئ الخمسة في حالة المتطلبة وليست متناقضة. وبالإضافة إلى تنفيذ الدراسة المكتبية بنهج التحليل السياقي، فأخذا الكاتبان على النتيجة الآتية: استحقت الإيديولوجية بالمبادئ الخمسة القوّة لتوازن الإيديولوجية الدّاخلية من هجوم الإيديولوجية الدّولية. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، أصبحت المبادئ الخمسة كالإيديولوجية لتوحيد الدولة الإندونيسيا.Abstrak: Artikel ini menggambarkan tentang relasi Islam dan Pancasila di tengah pertarungan ideologi dunia yang terus hadir di tengah negara bangsa. Di masa lalu, pertarungan ideologi terjadi antara Amerika Serikat dan sekutunya dengan Uni Soviet dan sekutunya. Pasca kehancuran ideologi komunis di Eropa Timur di bawah kekuasaan Uni Soviet, maka ideologi kapitalisme seperti menjadi ideologi tunggal yang menguasai negara-negara di banyak negara. Indonesia yang memiliki Pancasila sebagai ideologi kebangsaan tentu juga berada di dalam arena pertarungan tersebut. Di Indonesia, secara internal juga terjadi pertarungan antara Islam politik, Islam moderat, dan Islam Nasionalis. Posisi ini yang menarik untuk dicermati di era sekarang dan akan datang, dalam kaitannya dengan bagaimana mengamalkan Islam di satu sisi dengan pengamalan Pancasila di sisi lain. Sejauh ini banyak pandangan yang menyatakan bahwa antara Islam dan Pancasila bukanlah berada di dalam posisi berlawanan tetapi saling membutuhkan. Melalui penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan content analysis, maka disimpulkan bahwa ideologi Pancasila memiliki kekuatan sebagai penyeimbang di antara pertarungan ideologi baik secara internal maupun internasional. Pancasila telah membuktikan bisa menjadi ideologi pemersatu bagi bangsa Indonesia.
