Abstract

This article aims to explain the importance of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKI). this study uses literature review. The results of the study indicate that PBL is a constructive learning method that uses problems as a trigger for the learning process. This method is important for students in Islamic higher education in constructing their own learning experiences and knowledge, to improve critical thinking skills, problem solving, train communication skills, and improve student learning outcomes. AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan memaparkan tentang pentingnya penerapan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) di Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam (PTKI). penelitian ini menggunakan kajian kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL adalah metode pembelajaran konstruktivistik yang menggunakan masalah sebagai pemicu proses pembelajaran. Metode ini penting untuk mahasiswa di pendidikan tinggi Islam dalam mengkonstruk pengalaman belajar dan pengetahuan sendiri, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, melatih keterampilan komunikasi, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

AbstractIssues related to teacher professionalism may differ among countries. In Indonesia, the problems of teacher professionalism are connected to pre-service education and the lack of continuous professional development. In Malaysia, the major issues are concerned with teaching and management skills of teachers. In New Zealand, teachers face major issues related to work overload and the feeling of poor payment. Using a qualitative approach, this conceptual research paper discusses the issues of teacher professionalism and how the government takes roles in the continuing professional development of teachers in Indonesia, Malaysia and New Zealand. The research data was collected from the existing literature containing descriptions and discussions on the research topic and then analyzed using content analysis. The major findings of the study include that these three counties have issued laws, legislation, and regulations regarding the teacher profession. Then, teachers in the three countries are required to have the teacher’s standard competence embodied with a certificate. In addition,  before entering the classroom, all New Zealand teachers must have a certificate of teaching eligibility, while in Malaysia and Indonesia, the teacher certification is executed when teachers are already in the service. Finally, compared to Indonesia and Malaysia, New Zealand has a complete plan for improving teacher professionalism. The study concludes that the three countries put serious effort into improving the teaching profession. Similar research with more country samples would enrich the understanding of ways in which teacher professional development is conducted, thus providing valuable lessons for future reflections.AbstrakMasalah terkait dengan profesionalisme guru mungkin berbeda di setiap negara. Di Indonesia, masalah profesionalisme guru terkait dengan pendidikan pra-jabatan dan kurangnya pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan. Di Malaysia masalah utama berkaitan dengan keterampilan mengajar dan manajemen guru. Di Selandia Baru, guru menghadapi masalah besar terkait dengan kelebihan beban kerja dan persepsi terhadap rendahnya gaji guru.  Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, artikel penelitian konseptual ini membahas masalah profesionalisme guru dan bagaimana pemerintah berperan dalam pengembangan profesional guru berkelanjutan di Indonesia, Malaysia dan Selandia Baru. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari literatur yang berisi deskripsi dan diskusi tentang topik penelitian, dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis konten. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa tiga negara ini telah mengeluarkan undang-undang, peraturan perundang-undangan, dan peraturan tentang profesi guru. Kemudian, guru di tiga negara harus memiliki kompetensi standar guru yang diwujudkan dengan sertifikat. Selain itu, sebelum memasuki ruang kelas, semua guru Selandia Baru harus memiliki sertifikat kelayakan mengajar, sementara di Malaysia dan Indonesia sertifikasi guru dilaksanakan ketika guru sudah berada dalam layanan. Akhirnya, dibandingkan dengan Indonesia dan Malaysia, Selandia Baru memiliki rencana yang lebih lengkap dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa ketiga negara melakukan upaya serius dalam meningkatkan profesi guru. Penelitian serupa dengan lebih banyak sampel negara akan memperkaya pemahaman tentang cara-cara di mana pengembangan profesional guru dilakukan, sehingga memberikan pelajaran berharga untuk refleksi di masa depan.How to Cite: Kholis, N., Murwanti. Abstract

This study aims to reveal the policies of European countries, such as the Netherlands, Britain, Germany, France and Sweden, towards Islamic schools. The focus of the study includes three interrelated themes, namely policies on education funding, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum, and empowerment of IRE teachers. Data from relevant literature were collected and analyzed using an analytical-comparative approach. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, with regard to funding, the Netherlands and Sweden fund all Islamic schools; Britain and France only fund Islamic schools that follow national education regulations; and Germany funds only IRE teacher salaries. Second, for the curriculum policy, Germany and the UK include IRE in public schools; The Netherlands and Sweden leave the IRE curriculum to each Islamic school; while France integrates IRE into other subjects in public schools. Third, with regard to teachers, the Netherlands requires IRE teachers to undertake certified teacher training at universities; England and Sweden require that they take postgraduate-level education courses; France requires that they take courses containing religious topics; and Germany requires them to take Islamic theology courses.

Abstract

This article aims to compare character education policies in primary schools in three countries namely Singapore, Japan and South Korea and the impact of these policies on primary schools in Indonesia. this article is motivated by the fact that Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world. This is because Indonesia has not been able to control the number of births in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to strive to foster creativity by improving the quality of Education. This is because Indonesia is a developing country, it cannot be separated from the process of improving the quality of Education. This study is a diagnostic study. This writing uses doctrinal (normative) methods, and this article aims to clarify the Policy Foundation in character education. All the information that has been collected is processed by analyzing the results of the literature review by comparing the character of Education from three countries and seeing the impact on character education in Indonesian primary schools. Indonesia's education is becoming more community-centric. International education must be redeveloped in order to change for the better. Comparing the character of Primary School Education of the three countries related to education in East asia and the Pacific, recorded in the WEF World Economic Forum, Singapore ranked 11th and Japan ranked 17th. While South Korea maraih ranked 27th. The three countries are countries that have a high commitment to improving human resources through an education. While Indonesia ranked 65th out of 130 countries in the world. [Artikel ini bertujuan untuk meembandingkan kebijakan pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar di tiga negara yakni negara Singapura, Jepang dan Korea Selatan serta dampak kebijakan tersebut pada sekolah dasar di Indonesia. artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta bahwa Indonesia adalah salah satu negara terpadat di dunia. Ini dikarenakan Indonesia belum mampu untuk mengontrol jumlah kelahiran di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, perlu diupayakan untuk menumbuhkan kreativitas dengan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Hal ini karena negara Indonesia merupakan negara berkembang, maka tidak dapat dipisahkan dari proses peningkatan kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian diagnostik. Penulisan ini mengggunakan metode doktrinal (normatif), dan artikel ini mempunyai tujuan untuk memperjelas landasan kebijakan dalam pendidikan karakter. Semua Informasi-informasi yang telah terkumpul diolah dengan menganalisis hasil literature review dengan membandingkan karakter Pendidikan dari tiga negara dan melihat dampaknya terhadap pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar Indonesia. Pendidikan Indonesia menjadi lebih focus pada community-centric. Pendidikan internasional harus dikembangkan kembali agar bisa berubah menjadi lebih baik. Membandingkan pendidikan karakter sekolah dasar ketiga negara terkait Pendidikan di asia timur dan Pasific, tercatat di WEF World Economic Forum negara Singapura meraih peringkat ke 11 dan negara Jepang meraih peringkat ke 17. Sedangkan Korsel maraih peringkat ke 27. Ketiga Negara tersebut merupakan negara yang memiliki komitmen tinggi terhadap peningkatan SDM melalui sebuah Pendidikan. Abstract

Islam provides fundamental sources for human development, including ukhuwah Islamiyah, ashabiah and rahmatan lil ‘alamin. These concepts are strategic in developing the economy of the state. The current article aims to analyze the economic development in Medina carried out by the Prophet Muhammad. The authors employed a qualitative method through narrative reviews of the extant literature. The study shows that before the hijrah of the Prophet, Medina was already a multicultural and heterogeneous society with many prolonged conflicts.. The Prophet devised a strategic approach to build the Medina economy and society. Ukhuwah Islamiyah was used to unify differing, often conflicting cultures, beliefs, and ethnicities to form a strong brotherhood. Ashabiah was applied to tighten the glue among society members, creating high social solidarity. Upon the perfection of Medina, the apostolate of rahmatan lil ‘alamin leads to a universal, inclusive, and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to uncover and analyze the concept of the Sammaniyah order and its role in the moral, spiritual and social formation of postmodern society. The research uses literature studies; library study. The results showed that, first, the Sammaniyah Order was founded by Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim al Samman (1130-1189 H / 1718-1775) in Medina and spread to the archipelago in the 18th century by Muhammad Arsyad al Banjari, Abd al Rahman al Fathani, Abdu al Samad al Palimbani, Haji Ahmad and Muhyiddin bin Syihabuddin, Shaykh Nafis al Banjari. Second, the concept of the Sammaniyah tariqah includes (1) dhikr which is read out loud and with high-pitched, especially when saying lafadz la ilaha illa Allah, (2) tawassul, (3) ratib samman, and  (4) multiplying prayers, remembrance, being gentle to the poor, not too loving the world, utilizing the intellect of rabbaniyah and monotheism to Allah in His essence, nature and affinity. Third, the deed and role of the murshid become the specific strategy of this tarekat in carrying out the education process, and the formation of moral, spiritual and social even the political attitudes of the people. Among them are (1) amaliah dhikr samman and ratib samman, (2) tazkiyah an nafs process, (3) charismatic; the character of the murshid, (4) dialogues of the murshid to guide the spirit, morals and attitudes of the people.الملخص: الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو كشف وتحليل مفهوم النظام السامانية ودوره في التكوين الأخلاقي والروحي والاجتماعي لمجتمع ما بعد الحداثة. تستخدم طريقة البحث دراسات الأدب. دراسة مكتبة. أوضحت النتائج أن النظام السامانية أسسه الشيخ محمد بن عبد الكريم السمان (1130-1189 هـ / 1718-1775) في المدينة المنورة. وانتشر إلى الأرخبيل في القرن الثامن عشر من قبل محمد أرسيد البنجاري وعبد الرحمن الفتحاني وعبد الصمد البليمباني والسيد حاجي أحمد ومحي الدين بن سيهاب الدين والشيخ نفيس البنجاري. ثانياً: مفهوم الطريقة السامانية يشمل (1) الذكر الذي يقرأ بصوت عالٍ وصرير ، خصوصاً عند قول لافد لا إله إلا الله. (2) تواصل ، (3) راتب سمان ، (4) ضرب الصلوات ، إحياء ذكرى الفقراء ، عدم حب العالم ، استخدام عقل الربانية والتوحيد مع الله في جوهره وطبيعته وألفةه. ثالثاً ، يصبح دور ودور المرشد الإستراتيجية المحددة لهذه الطاقات في تنفيذ العملية التعليمية ، وتشكيل المواقف الأخلاقية والروحية والاجتماعية حتى المواقف السياسية للشعب. من بينهم (1) أماليا ذكر سمان وراتب سمان ، (2) عملية التزكية نفس ، (3) كاريزمية ؛ صفة المرشد ، (4) حوارات المرشد لتوجيه روح وأخلاق ومواقف الناس.Asbtrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis konsep tarekat Sammaniyah dan perannaya terhadap pembentukan moral, spiritual dan sosial masyarakat post modern. Metode penelitiannya menggunakan kajian literature; studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pertama, tarekat Sammaniyah ini didirikan oleh Syaikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim al Samman (1130-1189 H/1718-1775) di Madinah. Dan disebarkan ke Nusantara pada abad ke 18 oleh Muhammad Arsyad al Banjari, Abd al Rahman al Fathani, Abdu al Samad al Palimbani, Tuan Haji Ahmad dan Muhyiddin bin Syihabuddin, Syaikh Nafis al Banjari.  Kedua, konsep ajaran tarekat Sammaniyah ini di antaranya (1) zikirnya yang dibaca dengan suara keras dan melengking, khususnya ketika mengucapkan lafadz la ilaha illa Allah. (2) tawassul, (3) ratib samman, (4) memperbanyak salat, zikir, bersikap lemah lembut kepada kaum fakir miskin, tidak terlalu mencintai dunia, mendayagunakan akal rabbaniyah dan tauhid kepada Allah dalam dzat, sifat dan af’al-Nya.  Ketiga, amaliah dan peran mursyid menjadi strategi khusus tarekat ini dalam melakukan proses pendidikan, dan pembentukan moral, spiritual dan sosial bahkan sikap politik masyarakat. Di antaranya (1) amaliah zikir samman dan ratib samman, (2) proses tazkiyah an nafs, (3) kharismatik; ketokohan sang mursyid, (4) dakwah dialogis sang mursyid untuk membimbing ruhani, moral dan sikap masyarakat.

Abstract

As the main actor in the education process, teachers are required to develop the full potential of students: knowledge, skills, attitudes, characters and morality. The quality instructional materials that teachers use in their classroom greatly affect students’ knowledge acquisition and their skill development. The existing and easily accessable instructional materials could widen teachers’ horizon. However, misperception and misunderstanding could occur among students if the learning materials are not properly selected and taught. Ideally, teachers should develop creative, innovative, interesting, and effective instructional materials for use in their classroom. The multimedia besed instructional materials can and should be developed and used by teachers of Islamic education in school. This paper aims at discussing the development of instructional materials in general; the relationship between teachers and instructional materials; and the importance of designing teahchers’ made instructional materials using multimedia for Islamic education. It is argued here that Islamic teachers need to develop multimedia based learning materials so that their teaching will be more interesting, joyful, and effective.

Abstract

The human resource management practices in the State Higher Education Irxstitutions (SHEls) in Indonesia follow the rules and regulations set by the government; this in theory should guarantee equality to all staff. In reality, however, the effects are different to female and male staff with regards to their career advancement. The present study aims to explore women's status in the structural and academic ranks as well as in the management and leadership positions compared to men's, and the reasons responsible for the gap in their career advancement. A set of instruments was distributed to universities u'iUing to participate in this study. Ten universities participated in this study by returning completed instruments. This study reveals that the representation of women in the higher structural and academic ranks was reasonably below than that of men. However, their number in the starting levels tended to grow. Women were also scarce in the top management and leadership positions, even though their representation in the lower levels tended to increase. Reasons for this disparity include women's lacking research and publication; tendency to recruit future male leaders; and the women's lower qualifications for the higher posts. Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pengelolaan pendidikan di banyak sekolah terkesan tertutup bagi pihak luar. Masyarakat, orang tua murid seolah olah tidak banyak mengetahui seluk beluk pengelolaan pendidikan di sekolah, tidak mengetahui pendapatan dan belanja sekolah, tidak dilibatkan dalam mengevaluasi kekuatan dan kelemahan kinerja sekolah dan sebagainya. Pengelolaan yang dianggap tidak transparan dan akuntabel berdampak negatif bagi perkembangan sekolah, karena orang tua murid akan meragukan sumbangan yang mereka berikan akan benar-benar dimanfaatkan bagi kepentingan penyelenggaraan pendidikan atau akan terjadi penyimpangan yang tidak diharapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah, partisipasi wali murid, hubungan akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah dengan peningkatan partisipasi wali murid serta pengaruh akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah terhadap peningkatan partisipasi wali murid. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah dengan kuesioner/angket. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 73 responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif statistik, korelasi product moment serta analisis regresi linier sederhana. Dari pengujian data diketahui tingkat kualitas akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah tergolong sangat baik karena mempunyai nilai rata-rata (mean) sebesar 37,21 dengan standar deviasi 3, 41, sedangkan tingkat kualitas partisipasi wali murid tergolong sangat baik mempunyai nilai rata-rata (mean) sebesar 36,92 dengan standar deviasi 3, 76. Dari pengujian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh terdapat hubungan akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah dengan partisipasi wali murid. Hasil hitung korelasi product moment di dapatkan bahwa r = 0,94. Karena nilai Sig (2-tailed) (p < 0,05) pada tabel r product moment dengan taraf 5% nilai 0,235 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah dengan partisipasi wali murid. Berdasarkan rxy dengan nilai 0,94 yang terletak antara 0,80 – 1,00 yang mana interpretasinya tergolong sangat kuat/tinggi. Sedangkan Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana hasil penelitian pengaruh akuntabilitas terhadap partisipasi mempunyai ada hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah dengan partisipasi wali murid. untuk variabel akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah, berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh t hitung sebesar 23,288, maka t hitung > t tabel (23,288 > -1,010) maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya koefisien regresi akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah signifikan. Berdasarkan besarnya pengaruh variabel akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah terhadap partisipasi wali murid menandakan bahwa faktor akuntabilitas keuangan sekolah sangat kuat untuk memprediksi partisipasi wali murid.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the role of local wisdom in realizing religious tolerance in Balun, Lamongan. Interviews were conducted with village leaders, leaders and youths of three religions and community representatives, totaling 10 informants selected purposively. All interviews were recorded and then transcripts of the interview results were afforded. Data analysis employed four stages: transcription, inventory, classification, and description. This study found that the Balun community succeeded in maintaining and strengthening religious tolerance. This strength is based on several local wisdoms, for example nyadran and prayer to the deceased, which are carried out together regardless of people religious background. This inclusive activity strengthens a sense of solidarity, cohesiveness and tolerance at Balun. Local wisdom in Balun is portrayed as an interfaith meeting, conflict resolution, and fostering communal solidarity. This research contributes to the scarcity of studies that reveal the role of local wisdom in society. Similar research worth doing in order to unravel other forms of local wisdom.
