Abstract

Students, as Agents of Change from an early age, must have an extensive understanding of the importance of progress in the business field, including strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit. Various parties, including higher education, must support entrepreneurship. This will, in turn, produce independent entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) players who are driven by the attitudes and characteristics of entrepreneurs and ready to persevere and develop the business world in the future. Various strategies used to foster entrepreneurs and UMKM players in higher education are crucial to be carried out systematically and continuously. This article aims to: 1) Provide an overview of strategies for creating an entrepreneurial spirit in students and its relevance to the realization of independent UMKM. 2) Provide contributions, suggestions, and solutions to parties involved in the entrepreneurial spirit of students to become the foundation for the establishment of independent UMKM. This article concludes that: 1) There are several strategies used to create the entrepreneurial spirit of students, namely by providing motivation and understanding related to entrepreneurial characteristics, such as being action-oriented, thinking simply, seeking new opportunities, pursuing opportunities with high discipline, seizing the best opportunities, focusing on execution and everyone's energy into the business they are engaged in, and real strategies that can be implemented in higher education include achieving learning outcomes in the curriculum, participating in Student Creativity Programs (PKM), and establishing business incubators. 2) To contribute suggestions and solutions to the issue of UMKM self-sufficiency, several steps need to be taken. First, change the lifestyle from dependence on imported goods. Second, change government policies and attitudes towards UMKM. Third, the UMKM sector needs assistance in finding better production inputs, suitable technology, efficient marketing strategies, and services. Fourth, UMKM must improve their knowledge and skills. Fifth, the UMKM sector needs easier access to financing, which often becomes a source of problems inhibiting its growth. Sixth, the government must remove various barriers that hinder the growth and expansion of the UMKM sector.

Abstract

Generation Z has become a dominant workforce cohort, whose expectations for openness, flexibility, and meaningful work often intersect with the multicultural and multigenerational dynamics of local workplaces. This study aims to examine how Generation Z employees in West Kalimantan socially adapt to organizational environments shaped by the interethnic TIDAYU (Dayak–Malay–Chinese) context. Using an exploratory qualitative design, the research involved 18 participants aged 18–28 years from the service, retail, education, and MSME sectors in Pontianak, Singkawang, and Ketapang. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis, generating 138 codes, 24 subcategories, and three themes. The findings revealed three dominant adaptation patterns: communication adjustment, learning from senior workers, and seeking clarity and meaning in work. Organizational factors—particularly open leadership and flexible work structures–significantly facilitate adaptation, while authoritarian leadership and rigid structures hinder it. Peer support emerged as the strongest community factor accelerating Gen Z’s social adjustment, supported by multicultural workplace values fostering acceptance and comfort. The study concludes that Gen Z’s adaptation is an interactive, context-dependent process shaped by personal strategies, organizational culture, and social dynamics of TIDAYU communities. These insights emphasize that successful adaptation occurs when organizational values align with the generational needs and local cultural norms. The findings highlight the importance of adopting inclusive leadership, establishing flexible work systems, and strengthening cross-generational and cross-cultural engagement to enhance Gen Z integration and workplace harmony in multicultural regions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the persistent disharmony and lack of vertical synchronization in the regulation of the Village Head Election (Pilkades) within the Indonesian legislative system. Currently, technical implementing regulations frequently deviate from the core spirit of village autonomy and the democratic principles mandated by Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. This study aims to analyze the current laws regarding Pilkades and formulate an ideal, democratic, and high-integrity regulatory reformulation concept. The method utilized is normative juridical legal research through library research, employing statute and conceptual approaches to evaluate the synchronization of legal norms. The analytical results demonstrate that current Pilkades regulations remain highly centralistic and trigger legal uncertainty. Fundamental problems include the Regent's absolute authority in resolving election disputes (which harms judicial impartiality), supra-village domination in additional candidate selections, undemocratic single-candidate deliberation mechanisms, and outdated central regulations hindering E-Voting innovations. Therefore, a comprehensive reformulation emphasizing village independence is urgently necessary. This reformulation proposes four main designs: transferring dispute resolution to the judicial domain, national legalization of E-Voting, rearranging and limiting supra-village authority, and establishing an independent, legally guaranteed supervisory institution (Panwas Pilkades).

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of integrative curriculum management in Islamic boarding schools to bridge the dichotomy between religious and general education. It focuses on how curriculum integration is planned, implemented, and evaluated, as well as its impact on students’ competencies. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving six key informants. The findings reveal that integrative curriculum management is systematically carried out through synchronized planning, contextual learning practices, and continuous evaluation. This approach significantly strengthens students’ holistic competencies, including religious understanding, academic achievement, critical thinking, and moral character. The success of implementation is strongly influenced by leadership commitment, institutional culture, and collaborative teaching practices. In addition, adaptive strategies are proven effective in addressing resistance to change and maintaining curriculum relevance in the face of global challenges. However, inconsistencies at the instructional level indicate that integration has not been fully internalized by all educators. This study contributes an empirical model of integrative curriculum management in pesantren, offering a practical framework for educational reform that is both contextually grounded and globally relevant. Further research across diverse settings is recommended to enhance external validity.
