Abstract

Background: Land and building asset management is an important aspect in ensuring the sustainability of good school governance. This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of asset management at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Wates through advocacy, asset certification, training in the use of information systems, and the preparation of sustainable management strategies. Method: The methods used include observation, interviews, document studies, and information technology simulations using the Muhammadiyah Asset Management Information System (SIMAM) application. Result: The results show that the school has a total land asset area of 4,500 m² with varying ownership statuses, namely certified property, uncertified property, and leased property. The existence of assets that have not been certified indicates the need to accelerate legal advocacy. In addition, SIMAM training has succeeded in increasing the understanding of school administrators regarding digital-based asset recording. This activity also produces a structured and sustainability-oriented asset management strategy, including the use of assets for educational activities and school economic development. Conclusion: This activity is expected to be a model for institutional empowerment in other schools with similar characteristics.

Abstract

There are still few studies on sexual harassment toward boys. In society, there is still a lot of skepticism and stigma about whether boys can be perpetrators or victims of sexual harassment. The purpose of this study was to explore the occurrence of sexual violence towards boys, such as the dynamics of the perpetrators and victims, the motivation of the perpetrators to commit sexual violence, and the impact of sexual violence on victims. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, with 17 subjects aged 0–18. The data collection used a study of documents collected from trial facts in the Directory of Supreme Court Decisions. The data were analyzed by the N-Vivo application for data processing, management, ideas, queries, visualization, and reporting. This study found that imitation was the main trigger for perpetrators to commit sexual harassment. From the victim's side, the impact the victim feels is a feeling of trauma, depression, and sensitivity. The role of the environment and online media needs attention in preventing and handling sexual violence against children.

Abstract

For an extended period, education institutions have functioned independently, resulting in a notable disparity in educational quality. The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) promotes collaboration between educational institutions and schools, with the aim of serving as mentors for joint program development. This groundbreaking research delves deeply into the pivotal roles played by both lecturers and students within the MBKM program. They emerge as mentors in the crusade for implementing anti-corruption education within the dynamic context of Sekolah Penggerak, also known as the driving school program (DSP). Conducted as a qualitative descriptive study, this research draws its data from the collaborative efforts between higher education institutions and schools in developing anti-corruption education, leading to recognition from the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK-RI). The data collection process unfolds through a meticulously orchestrated combination of observations, in-depth interviews, and thorough documentation. The findings of this study are nothing short of transformative, as they underscore how the active involvement of MBKM’s lecturers and students in anti-corruption education serves as a potent catalyst, reinforcing the integrity zone policy within the DSP program. This seamless integration of anti-corruption education with Islamic education, encompassing profound concepts like riswah (bribery), ghulul (betrayal), and mukabarah-ghasab (seizing), represents a paradigm shift in pedagogical strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the roles, find out obstacles, and explicate the efforts of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in preventing the practice of money politics during the 2020 Regional Elections in the Klaten Regency. This research is empirical legal research with direct field research. Its primary data source is data from interviews with the Bawaslu of Klaten Regency. The results of this study indicate that Bawaslu as a state institution has a duty to carry out supervision, including preventing violations in Regional Elections. The role of the Klaten Regency Bawaslu in preventing violations of money politics practices include providing socialization to all elements of society and forming an Anti-Money Politics Village and a Monitoring Village. In its supervision, the Klaten Regency Bawaslu experienced obstacles such as a lack of human resources, limited budget, and low community participation in supervision. The community itself is still afraid to report if they find violations. Therefore, to overcome these obstacles, Klaten Regency Bawaslu utilize social media to facilitate the socialization to the public, invite the public, candidates, and campaign teams to reject all kinds of money politics practices, and form Anti-Money Politics Villages and Monitoring Villages.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the independence of the press in Indonesia during the 2024 elections from the perspective of legal justice theory and to analyze the relationship between factors influencing press independence in Indonesia during the 2024 elections and legal justice theory. The method used in this study is normative legal research, which examines issues based on applicable regulations and literature studies. The results of the study show, first, that press freedom in Indonesia during the 2024 elections does not yet meet the principles of legal justice as stated by John Rawls. This is evident in the imbalance in news coverage, which results in news reports and journalistic products produced by some media outlets being unfair and far from balanced, thereby harming other candidates. In addition, the public is also disadvantaged because freedom in obtaining accurate and fair information has not been achieved as it should be. The existence of this imbalance in reporting shows that the press has not been able to carry out its function freely and fairly as a provider of information to the public. Second, the factors that influence press freedom in Indonesia during the 2024 elections show that there is still control by financiers (media company owners) over the press and that there are no firm regulations regarding the enforcement of press freedom, which can lead to violations of the principles of legal justice.

Abstract

Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the Second Amendment to the KPK Law has sparked widespread controversy due to concerns that it weakens the independence and effectiveness of the Corruption Eradication Commission. The analysis is conducted within the framework of Indonesia’s constitution and political system, focusing on its alignment with the principles of the rule of law, democracy, and human rights. This study uses a normative juridical method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings reveal that the 2019 revision places the KPK under the executive branch, restricts technical powers such as wiretapping and searches, and limits public participation in the legislative process. Consequently, the effectiveness of corruption eradication efforts has declined, including a drop in sting operations and public trust in the KPK. Judicial Review is important to enhanced public participation, restoration of KPK’s independence, and political reform to restore the institution’s ideal function.
