Abstract

Abstract

The coast of Jailolo is a tourism area that has the potential of natural resources, namely the potential of village tourism. Developing village tourism potential greatly supports economic activities in increasing community income. The high potential for geological disasters has a negative impact on the Jailolo coastal area, especially village tourism destinations. The low level of community resilience to geological disasters is limited information and a need for more data on disaster risk in the Jailolo coastal area. Therefore, maximum efforts should be made to increase community knowledge related to tourism optimisation, reducing the impact and risk of geological disasters. For mitigation efforts to be maximally and well coordinated, a tourism development strategy is needed on the potential of village tourism on the coast of Jailolo based on disaster mitigation, including multi-risk mapping of geological disasters on the coast of Jailolo. The resulting multi-risk map can be used for safe planning and safe land use and reduces the risk of geological disasters in the Jailolo coastal tourism area. The method used was an exploratory and evaluative survey method with a quantitative approach. Primary data sources were collected by surveying vulnerable communities using questionnaires and interviews to obtain information on capacity. Data processing was carried out in the form of scoring and then mapped with the help of QuantumGIS software. The data analysis technique refers to the Regulation of BNPB No. 2 of 2012 on Disaster Risk Assessment. It uses the Multi Criteria Analysis method with the help of Geographic Information System (GIS) software. The results showed that the Jailolo coastal tourist destination has a high risk of earthquake and tsunami disasters (score 3, red colour). Earthquake and tsunami multi-risk mapping in the Jailolo coastal tourist destination area, West Halmahera, is one of the strategies for developing disaster mitigation-based tourist destinations. Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Halmahera Island in North Maluku consists of active faults that cause frequent tectonic earthquakes. In addition to earthquakes, tsunamis can also occur. Bobanehena village is one of the villages located on the coast of Jailolo sub-district and could be at great risk of a tsunami if an earthquake strikes Halmahera Island. The problems addressed are first, the limited capacity of individuals, households and communities in facing and dealing with tsunami disasters. Second, there is no tsunami evacuation route in Bobanehena Village based on participatory mapping. The method in this service is the Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) approach which involves the community to be actively involved in disaster management. Participatory mapping of evacuation routes was carried out by Forum Group Discussion (FGD) and assessment of disaster capacity was carried out by submitting pre-test and post-test questionnaires conducted during the activity. The results of the service were a participatory map of the tsunami evacuation route plan and increased community capacity regarding tsunami disasters in Bobanehena Village.

Abstract

ABSTRACT − Waya Makawa hot spring is the only hot spring in Ploly Village, Makian Island, North Maluku. Hot water utilization is still in the form of hot spring tourism and has not been explored further. The surface temperature of the Waya Makawa hot spring is quite high, so it is interesting to research because the temperature is the dominant parameter of geothermal areas. This study aimed to determine the mineral content of sintered silica and its relationship to surface temperature, as well as to determine the type of fluid (hot water) of Waya Makawa. The research method used is a quantitative method with mud samples to determine the content of sintered silica tested using the XRF method. A thermocouple temperature sensor measures The hot water sample for its surface temperature. Water samples were taken using a random sampling method to determine the content of chemical elements from hot springs and then analyzed using trilinear diagrams. The mineral content test results obtained in the Waya Makawa mud sample have a fairly high silica mineral content. Point 1 has a silica mineral content of 54.49%, while at point 2 it is 57.84%. At the location of point 1, the average surface temperature obtained is around 37.6 o C, while at point 2 it is around 40.6 o C. The relationship between surface temperature and mineral content in Waya Makawa hot water is very significant, the higher the temperature, the greater the silica mineral content at that point. The results of the chemical analysis show that the Waya Makawa hot spring is an alkaline chloride fluid type and is immature water, as well as an indication of a high permeable zone (fault). This hot water domination system is located in low relief, has been altered with silica characteristics, has silica sinter reserves, and occurs in many tectonic fault systems.

Abstract

Every human being must produce waste, and it needs to get more serious attention from all parties because waste is a social phenomenon. If waste is not handled properly it can cause environmental problems both directly and indirectly. The direct impact is contracting infectious diseases or skin diseases while the indirect impact from waste is flooding. Along with population growth in a city, the amount of waste produced also increases and if it is not handled properly, it will result in an increasing number of piles of waste. This happens a lot in cities. The purpose of this research is to evaluate waste management in the Dehegila TPA, Morotai Island Regency. The results of this study indicate that the most common characteristics of waste in TPA are inorganic and organic waste, while the waste management used in TPA is open dumping or open management, waste transported to TPA is then carried out by the combustion process. thus causing environmental pollution.

Abstract

The integration of mobile-based gamification applications in education is crucial for enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. This study analyzed the effectiveness of the GaMALaMA application, a mobile gamification tool, in improving students’ earthquake disaster mitigation awareness (EDMA) in Islamic junior high schools. An experimental research design with a pretest-posttest control group approach was employed, involving 55 students from a state Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Ternate City, Indonesia. The results showed a significant improvement in EDMA among students who used the GaMALaMA app in addition to science textbooks compared to those who used only textbooks. This improvement was attributed to the incorporation of game design elements, such as points, challenges, levels, time constraints, rules, and leaderboards, which stimulated student engagement and supported independent learning beyond the classroom. The experimental group showed a high level of EDMA improvement (<g> = 0.76), while the control group showed a medium level (<g> = 0.64). These findings suggest that mobile-based gamification can enhance science learning in Islamic junior high schools. The study highlights the importance of teacher and parent cooperation in supporting students’ use of gamification apps for independent learning outside school hours.
