Abstract

This paper presents the outcomes of a research experiment on the drying process of seaweed. There are numerous approaches to clustering data, such as partitioning and the Hierarchical Clustering Algorithm (HCA). The HCA has been implemented in binary tree structures to visualize data clustering. We conducted a comparative analysis of the four primary methodologies utilized in HCA, namely: 1) single linkage, 2) complete linkage, 3) average linkage, and 4) Ward's linkage. Clustering validation is widely recognized as a crucial issue that significantly impacts the effectiveness of clustering algorithms. Clustering validation can be identified, such as internal and external validation. Internal clustering validation, in particular, holds significant importance in the realm of data science. With this article, the main goal is to do an empirical evaluation of the traits that a representative set of internal clustering validation indices, namely Connectivity, Dunn, and Silhouette, show. In this paper, the HCA applies two distance functions between Euclidean and Manhattan distances to analyze the entanglement function and internal validity.

Abstract

Academic services are super important for shaping how students experience their education and feel about their school. The quality of these services, whether in academic departments or laboratories, affects how well students perform, how engaged they are, and what they think of their institution. This study sets out to figure out the lowest gap value, calculate the sigma value and satisfaction level, and suggest ways to improve the academic services in the Department and Laboratory. We used Servqual and Six Sigma methods to dig into this. The results showed that all service attributes, for both the department and the lab, had negative gap values. For department services, the total sigma value was 2.205 with an average satisfaction level of 76.2%. For lab services, it was a sigma of 2.274 and a satisfaction level of 78.04%. The biggest issue for both was the same: the comfort of the study room in the department and the practicum room in the lab, which were rated as super important but had the lowest satisfaction. Using the 5W + 1H method, we came up with practical suggestions to fix what’s making students unhappy.

Abstract

The nature of the steel slag concrete experiment followed a mixture process variable (MPV) design. In this study, the concrete is composed of five mixture components, cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, percentage steel slag replaced the fine aggregate and water, and process variable was the size of steel slag. Due to the constraints of the components, the experimental region was not a simplex. The standard MPV of a quadratic model produces large experimental runs. In this paper, D-optimal design with split- plot MPV approach was proposed. The five mixture components were assigned as the subplot factors and the process variable was assigned as the whole plot factors. The main objective of this information is a modified point exchange algorithm was developed to generate the D-optimal design. In addition, the paper investigates related issue namely, the estimation of the covariant matrix in MPV split-plot design. The final design consisted of 18 whole plots each of size 2 and experiment design with 36 observations
