Abstract

Children prefer to play games on gadgets rather than explore the environment around the house. This situation is exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic that is happening around the world, which has caused the children's play environment to become more limited. The passivity of these children is, of course, very bad for their development and growth. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce fun activities that can be done around the house to avoid the coronavirus. The activity introduced in this community service activity is farming in polybags. The plant introduced was ginger because this plant has many benefits, including as a body warmer. This service activity received a positive response from the children who took part in the event. This introductory activity is expected to raise children's interest in simple farming around the house. Saat ini anak-anak lebih memilih untuk bermain game di gawai dibandingkan dengan melakukan eksplorasi lingkungan di sekitar rumah. Keadaan itu diperparah dengan pandemi Covid-19 yang terjadi di seluruh dunia, yang menyebabkan lingkungan bermain anak menjadi lebih terbatas. Kepasifan anak-anak tersebut tentunya sangat berdampak buruk bagi perkembangan maupun pertumbuhan mereka. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengenalan aktivitas yang menyenangkan sekaligus dapat dilakukan di sekitar rumah agar terhindar dari virus korona. Aktifitas yang diperkenalkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah bercocok tanam di polibag. Tanaman yang diperkenalkan yaitu jahe karena tanaman tersebut memiliki banyak manfaat, di antaranya sebagai minuman penghangat tubuh. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapat respo  positif dari anak-anak yang mengikuti acara. Kegiatan pengenalan ini diharapkan dapat memunculkan ketertarikan anak-anak untuk bercocok tanam secara sederhana di sekitar rumah.

Abstract

Flooding in rice fields often occurs as a result of overflowing rainwater or overflowing river water. In addition, irrigation also often overflows and inundates farmers' fields. The way that is often done to overcome this is usually done every few minutes to the fields. An automatic tool is needed that can be used to be able to monitor water level activities that occur in rice fields. In that case farmers can make the best and timely decisions when rice fields will be flooded. The design process of this tool is carried out in 2 stages, namely the area analysis stage and the design of the tool design which will be carried out with the characteristics of rice fields in Teluklada village. The Water Level Measuring Tool as a Flood Indicator in Rice Fields is designed as a flood indicator by utilizing the HCSR04 sensor work function to detect water rise that occurs. Residents who received the notification message were surprised when they first received the flood warning message and felt helped by the presence of this water level measuring instrument because it can monitor rice fields remotely.

Abstract

Metallothionein is a protein that is well known to play a role in metal metabolism in bacterial cells. Metallothionein is a multifunctional protein that has the potential to be used as a metal adsorbing agent. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a ubiquitous gram-negative and rapid-growth bacterium. In addition, the complete genome of Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been largely known. Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 is a strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa that the complete genome of this strain is easily accessible in NCBI. These features make Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 become a common model in bacterial studies. This research aimed to find and model the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1. This research was carried out by bioinformatic and protein homology methods. Based on the results, the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was found in the bacterial genome at base sequence of 2355918 to 2356157. The putative metallothionein-encoding gene of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has a size of 240 bp. The translation result of the gene showed that the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has 79 amino acids. The modeling result showed the 3D structure of the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 is similar to the metallothionein 3D structure of Pseudomonas fluorescens Q2-87. The 3D structure of the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was dominated by turn and coil, but contained 1 α-helix structure and 2 β-sheet structures. Based on protein analysis, it was found that the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has 1 metal-binding cluster with 10 amino acids and the most important amino acid residue is Cysteine . Even though, there was 1 Histidine amino acid residue on the metal-binding cluster.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi Covid-19, pemberlakuan pembatasan kegiatan fisik di luar rumah dilakukan oleh pemerintah. Kebijakan tersebut merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah terjadinya penyebaran virus Covid-19 yang lebih luas. Pembatasan tersebut menyebabkan kegiatan masyarakat di luar rumah harus dibatasi. Hampir semua kegiatan di masa pandemi harus dilakukan di dalam rumah, sehingga kebersihan dan kesehatan di dalam rumah mesti diperhatikan. Namun, belum banyak masyarakat yang mengetahui bagaimana caranya membuat hunian menjadi bersih, sehat, dan terbebas dari Covid-19. Beberapa kegiatan sosialisasi yang dilakukan yaitu pembuatan spanduk informasi, mengenalkan vaksinasi, pembagian masker dan hand sanitizer gratis, serta penyemprotan disinfektan di lingkungan rumah warga. Tempat dilakukannya sosialisasi yaitu di Desa Paninggilan Utara, Kecamatan Ciledug, Kota Tangerang. Harapan terbesar dari kegiatan ini yaitu masyarakat dapat melanjutkan kebiasaan baik yang telah diperkenalkan agar menciptakan hunian yang sehat sehingga masyarakat tetap produktif melakukan berbagai kegiatan di dalam rumah namun tetap aman dari Covid-19. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government imposed restrictions on physical activities outside the home. This policy is an effort to prevent the broader spread of the Covid-19 virus. These restrictions cause people's activities outside the home to be limited. Almost all activities during a pandemic must be carried out at home, so cleanliness and health in the house must be considered. However, only a few people know how to make their homes clean, healthy, and free from Covid-19. Some socialization activities included making information banners, introducing vaccinations, distributing free masks and hand sanitizers, and spraying disinfectants around residents' homes. The place where the socialization was carried out was in Paninggilan Utara Village, Ciledug District, Tangerang City. The primary purpose of this activity is that the community can continue the good habits introduced to create healthy housing so that people can remain productive in carrying out various activities at home while remaining safe from Covid-19.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas kegiatan penyuluhan yang dilaksanakan di Desa Paninggilan Utara, Kota Tangerang, dengan fokus pada penanggulangan COVID-19 dan promosi vaksinasi anak. Penyuluhan dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang langkah-langkah pencegahan COVID-19 dan pentingnya vaksinasi pada anak. Metode penyuluhan mencakup penyuluhan berupa penyampaian informasi secara interaktif, melibatkan pihak ahli kesehatan, dan memanfaatkan media komunikasi yang relevan dengan masyarakat desa. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai protokol kesehatan COVID-19 dan manfaat vaksinasi anak. Artikel ini juga menyoroti tantangan yang dihadapi selama penyuluhan, seperti kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap vaksin dan upaya penanggulangan rumor yang mungkin muncul. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk perbaikan lebih lanjut dalam implementasi kegiatan penyuluhan serupa di tingkat desa, dengan harapan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap penanganan pandemi dan peningkatan tingkat vaksinasi pada anak. This article discusses outreach activities in Paninggilan Utara Village, Tangerang City, focusing on overcoming COVID-19 and promoting child vaccination. The outreach was carried out to increase public understanding about steps to prevent COVID-19 and the importance of vaccinating children. Counseling methods include outreach by delivering information interactively, involving health experts, and utilizing communication media relevant to village communities. The results of this activity show an increase in public awareness regarding the COVID-19 health protocol and the benefits of child vaccination. This article also highlights the challenges faced during education, such as public trust in vaccines and efforts to overcome rumors that may arise. Therefore, this article recommends further improvements in implementing similar outreach activities at the village level, hoping to positively contribute to handling the pandemic and increasing vaccination rates in children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk menerapkan metode daur ulang air limbah manusia pada pada Area Politeknik Pelayaran Banten digunakan untuk penghijauan tanaman sehingga dapat mengurangi dampak buruk bagi lingkungan akibat pembuangan air limbah dan menghasilkan penghematan secara ekonomi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis kebijakan dan studi kasus. Data primer akan dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan para pemangku kepentingan, seperti pimpinan politeknik dan para dosen di Politeknik Pelayaran Banten. Penelitian ini akan mengevaluasi berbagai kebijakan dukungan pembelajaran yang telah ada, seperti insentif fiskal, pembiayaan, pengembangan infrastruktur, pelatihan tenaga kerja, dan dukungan riset dan inovasi. Analisis akan difokuskan pada efektivitas kebijakan dalam meningkatkan pengolahan limbah cair, serta mengidentifikasi potensi perbaikan dan penyesuaian kebijakan yang lebih baik sesuai dengan perubahan lingkungan.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan keamanan pelabuhan adalah elemen esensial dalam menjaga kelancaran operasional dan reputasi perdagangan maritim internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penerapan International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code di Pelabuhan Banten, Indonesia, dengan fokus pada persiapan teknis dan administratif yang dilakukan oleh pihak pelabuhan serta tanggapan terhadap evaluasi yang dilakukan oleh United States Coast Guard (USCG) pada Juli 2019. Temuan utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat sejumlah kekuatan, seperti kepatuhan terhadap protokol dasar ISPS Code, beberapa kelemahan teridentifikasi, termasuk dalam manajemen kontrol akses dan koordinasi antar pemangku kepentingan. Artikel ini memberikan kontribusi dengan mengajukan rekomendasi perbaikan yang praktis, untuk mendukung pelabuhan dalam memenuhi standar keamanan internasional secara lebih efektif. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan strategis bagi pelabuhan-pelabuhan lain di Indonesia dalam meningkatkan tingkat kepatuhan terhadap ISPS Code.

Abstract

This community service project, conducted by Politeknik Pelayaran Banten, focused on providing sailing safety counseling to fishermen at Cituis Port in Karang Serang village. The initiative sought to address the challenges faced by local fishermen by improving their awareness of safety practices, alleviating economic constraints, and mitigating the risks associated with navigating and operating in demanding marine environments. Through participatory workshops and practical demonstrations, fishermen were educated on effective safety practices and emergency responses. The distribution of life jackets further emphasized the importance of preparedness. The project also involved collaborating with local governments and organizations to enhance sustainability. By increasing safety awareness and equipping fishermen with critical resources, this program protected lives and fostered a safer and more resilient maritime community. This effort aligns with the institution's mission of contributing to sustainable marine development and community empowerment. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yang dilaksanakan oleh Politeknik Pelayaran Banten, bertujuan memberikan penyuluhan tentang keselamatan berlayar kepada para nelayan di Pelabuhan Cituis, Desa Karang Serang. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi nelayan lokal dengan meningkatkan kesadaran mereka tentang praktik keselamatan, meringankan kendala ekonomi, dan mengurangi risiko yang terkait dengan navigasi serta operasi di lingkungan laut yang menantang. Melalui lokakarya partisipatif dan demonstrasi praktis, para nelayan diberikan edukasi tentang langkah-langkah keselamatan yang efektif dan respons darurat. Pembagian jaket keselamatan juga menjadi penekanan penting akan kesiapan menghadapi keadaan darurat. Proyek ini melibatkan kerja sama dengan pemerintah setempat dan organisasi terkait untuk memastikan keberlanjutan program. Dengan meningkatkan kesadaran keselamatan dan menyediakan sumber daya yang penting, program ini tidak hanya melindungi nyawa, tetapi juga membangun komunitas maritim yang lebih aman dan tangguh. Upaya ini selaras dengan misi institusi dalam mendukung pembangunan kelautan yang berkelanjutan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat.
