Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has brought about significant changes across various sectors, including the field of education. This transformation has profoundly impacted the ways in which learning materials are delivered and the interactions between educators and students, with an increasing reliance on digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the impact of integrating microlearning into digital platforms on student engagement in higher education. Microlearning integration, which breaks content into small, digestible units, is believed to enhance student participation, motivation, and retention of learning material. The study involved 80 students from three universities in Probolinggo, Indonesia. It measures the impact of microlearning through digital platforms on student engagement. The paired sample t-test analysis revealed a significant increase in engagement in the experimental group, with the average score rising from 65.4 before the intervention to 78.3 after the intervention (p < 0.05). In contrast, the control group showed no significant improvement, with the average score increasing from 64.9 before the intervention to 66.1 after (p > 0.05). These findings suggest that the use of microlearning platforms can significantly enhance student engagement. Additionally, the study provides practical recommendations for educators and institutions on integrating microlearning to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of contemporary students in the digital age.

Abstract

The integration of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) into higher education in Indonesia continues to face significant challenges, particularly regarding their effectiveness in supporting sustainable learning. Most prior studies have predominantly focused on technical aspects such as platform usage and user participation rates. At the same time, limited attention has been given to the impact of MOOCs on long-term skill development, learner autonomy, and their formal integration into academic curricula. This study offers a novel contribution by deeply exploring the perspectives of both students and lecturers on MOOCs as an educational innovation for sustainable learning in higher education. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research utilized the MOOC Integration Perception Scale (MIPS) for quantitative data and the MOOC Sustainability Interview Protocol (MSIP) for qualitative inquiry. A total of 120 students and 20 lecturers from diverse Indonesian universities participated as respondents. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent samples t-tests, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. Findings reveal that both students and lecturers highly value the flexibility and accessibility of MOOCs, especially in overcoming geographic and temporal barriers. However, concerns remain about the lack of direct interaction and the limited provision of personalized feedback, which hinders the pedagogical depth of these platforms. This study recommends the development of blended learning models and improvements in digital infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped regions, as strategic efforts to enhance MOOC integration in higher education. Future research should adopt longitudinal approaches to assess the long-term effects of MOOCs on learning outcomes, skill development, and learner autonomy.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the process and impact of mentoring the implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS) in realizing the Islamic Smart School model in junior high schools. The digital transformation of education in rural Indonesia faces significant barriers, including limited teacher digital literacy and a lack of culturally and religiously contextualized learning materials. The study used the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) framework to assess school resources, followed by capacity-building workshops, mentoring, and co-development of digital content integrating Islamic values. The results showed a significant increase in teacher confidence and proficiency in using the LMS platform, with LMS confidence increasing from 24% to 88%, and ability to integrate Islamic values into digital content from 15% to 80%. Teachers also reported increased motivation and ownership of digital pedagogy, with 84% expressing high motivation to continue using the LMS tool. The establishment of an LMS Clinic and Virtual Support Forum fostered ongoing peer support, contributing to the sustainability of digital pedagogy. This research contributes to the understanding of how digital transformation in Islamic education can be successfully integrated with religious values through a structured and participatory mentoring program.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology should make students' learning outcomes increase, but in reality, what happens at SMA Negeri 01 Kunir - Lumajang is that students' learning outcomes are low or tend to be unstable. This is apparently caused by the unbalanced number of educators with classes that must be taught. As a result, educators are overwhelmed, and the learning process is boring due to the lack of preparation of educators in using learning models and media. From the description above, the researcher intends to conduct a study using interactive-based Wordwall learning media with the help of Talking Stick to find out whether there is an effect of interactive Wordwall media assisted by Talking Stick on improving student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 01 Kunir - Lumajang. The method used in this research is Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The technique used to determine the research sample is the Random Sampling technique. Before applying Wordwall interactive media assisted by Talking Stick to the experimental class, the control class and experimental class were both given a pretest to determine the initial ability of the two samples. And it turns out that the results of the two classes are both normally distributed and homogeneous variants. After the application of interactive media Wordwall with Talking Stick, followed by giving the final question (posttest) in the control and experimental classes to determine the results of the application. The result is an increase in the learning value of students in the experimental class. Calculation of values using SPSS shows a very significant difference, learning outcomes with a value of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 1.000> 0.05, meaning that the experimental class scores tend to be higher than the control class. So it can be concluded that the use of interactive media Wordwall assisted by Talking Stick has an influence on improving student learning outcomes, especially in class XI students of SMA Negeri 01 Kunir - Lumajang with the material of tolerance and maintaining human life.

Abstract

Most learning motivation research focuses on students' performance with various abilities and skills and still needs to integrate constructive learning technology tools. Therefore, this study answers research questions about differences in stu-dent motivation and learning outcomes using the online flipped classroom based on differences in students' self-regulatory levels. Data was obtained from 108 students in coastal area schools, who were divided into two groups. Students' self-regulative abilities are measured using a four-point Likert scale, and learning outcomes are obtained from multiple-choice questions. The data collection in-strument used resulted from the developing of The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The hypothesis was tested using multivariate analysis of variance to find answers to research questions. The results of this study show higher levels of motivation and learning outcomes in the online flipped classroom group. Furthermore, the research results show the influence of student self-regulation on student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious and frequent problem in schools, affecting the well-being of students and the environment, both physically, emotionally, and even socially. This incident must be addressed immediately to prevent school concerns during school activities. This study aims to prevent bullying cases in schools by internalizing Islamic religious values. By naming the feeling of loving each other and fostering noble character. This method uses a case study approach which is one of the research methodologies. In this case study, researchers must conduct a more thorough analysis of an event, in the form of individuals and groups. In addition to collecting data, researchers also observe and interview and understand the event holistically. The results of the study show that Islamic values provide a strong foundation for bullying cases, thus creating a safe, inclusive, and civilized learning environment. By consistently understanding and deepening Islamic values, students are also able to apply student character and tolerance attitudes so as to maintain relationships with each other, by providing examples of the attitudes of the prophets and Islamic figures. The application of Islamic religious values is also able to create a school environment that. Thus, concrete steps in internalizing religious values to prevent bullying cases involving all related parties, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of prevention strategies, can create a school environment based on the principles of justice, compassion and equality.
