Abstract

Childhood trauma is mainly caused by events that threaten a child’s growth, and development. It has a significant impact on children’s well-being. The high suicide rate comes from trauma factors that trigger self-harming behavior. Children who experience trauma are at risk of developing anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and suicidal thoughts. This study aimed to investigate the causes, and consequences of childhood trauma, as well as potential interventions for parents, and institutions. Using a scoping review method, we analyzed existing literature to identify the root causes of childhood trauma. Our findings suggest that psychological distress in children can persist into adulthood, leading to changes in attitudes, and behavior. Fortunately, psychological based interventions, such as Play Therapy, Forgiveness, and Self Resilience strategies can help mitigate the effects of childhood trauma.

Abstract

Domestic violence remains a pervasive issue with profound psychological consequences for survivors, often leading to trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a drastic reduction in self-esteem. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is widely recognized as an effective therapeutic intervention for addressing these psychological impacts. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of CBT in improving the psychological well-being of survivors of domestic violence, particularly focusing on its role in enhancing self-esteem, self-love, and mindfulness, as well as its ability to reduce negative symptoms such as trauma, PTSD, and depression. Using a systematic literature review methodology, the study analyzed twelve relevant studies published between 2019 and 2025. The findings reveal that CBT significantly improves positive psychological outcomes, including self-esteem and self-love, while also effectively alleviating symptoms of trauma, PTSD, and depression. Additionally, CBT fosters emotional regulation and enhances mindfulness, contributing to the survivor's overall well-being and resilience. The implications of this research suggest that CBT should be widely integrated into interventions for survivors of domestic violence, offering a structured and culturally sensitive approach to healing. Future research is recommended to explore the long-term effects of CBT and its application in diverse cultural contexts to strengthen its efficacy and impact.Kekerasan dalam rumah tangga tetap menjadi isu yang meluas dengan dampak psikologis yang mendalam bagi penyintasnya, sering kali menyebabkan trauma, kecemasan, depresi, PTSD, dan penurunan drastis dalam harga diri. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) diakui secara luas sebagai intervensi terapeutik yang efektif untuk mengatasi dampak psikologis ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas CBT dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis penyintas kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, dengan fokus pada perannya dalam meningkatkan harga diri, cinta diri, dan kesadaran penuh, serta kemampuannya untuk mengurangi gejala negatif seperti trauma, PTSD, dan depresi. Menggunakan metodologi tinjauan pustaka sistematis, penelitian ini menganalisis dua belas studi relevan yang diterbitkan antara 2019 dan 2025. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CBT secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil psikologis positif, termasuk harga diri dan cinta diri, sekaligus efektif meredakan gejala trauma, PTSD, dan depresi. Selain itu, CBT mendukung regulasi emosional dan meningkatkan kesadaran penuh, yang berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan dan ketahanan penyintas secara keseluruhan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa CBT sebaiknya diintegrasikan secara luas dalam intervensi bagi penyintas kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, menawarkan pendekatan yang terstruktur dan sensitif secara budaya untuk pemulihan. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi efek jangka panjang dari CBT dan penerapannya dalam konteks budaya yang beragam untuk memperkuat efektivitas dan dampaknya.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an important aspect of early childhood development that is influenced by the family environment, especially parenting. This study aims to examine the role of parenting patterns on the development of emotional intelligence in early childhood through literature review. The research method used is narrative literature review by reviewing SINTA accredited national journals published in the range of 2018-2025. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar and Garuda Portal using the keywords parenting, emotional intelligence, and early childhood. The results show that democratic or authoritative parenting has the most positive influence on children's emotional intelligence development, which is reflected in children's ability to recognize and manage emotions, have empathy, self-control, and good social skills. Conversely, permissive and authoritarian parenting tend to have a less than optimal impact on children's emotional development when applied predominantly. In addition, factors such as education, occupation, parents' age and the number of children in the family also influence the parenting style applied. The conclusion of this study confirms that the application of warm, communicative and consistent parenting plays an important role in supporting the development of early childhood emotional intelligence. ABSTRAK Kecerdasan emosional merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini yang dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan keluarga, khususnya pola asuh orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pola asuh orang tua terhadap perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak usia dini melalui kajian literatur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah narrative literature review dengan menelaah jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA yang diterbitkan pada rentang tahun 2018–2025. Pencarian literatur dilakukan melalui Google Scholar dan Portal Garuda menggunakan kata kunci pola asuh, kecerdasan emosional, dan anak usia dini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh demokratis atau authoritative memiliki pengaruh paling positif terhadap perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak, yang tercermin dari kemampuan anak dalam mengenali dan mengelola emosi, memiliki empati, kontrol diri, serta kemampuan bersosialisasi yang baik. Sebaliknya, pola asuh permisif dan otoriter cenderung berdampak kurang optimal terhadap perkembangan emosional anak apabila diterapkan secara dominan. Selain itu, faktor pendidikan, pekerjaan, usia orang tua, serta jumlah anak dalam keluarga turut memengaruhi pola asuh yang diterapkan. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan pola asuh yang hangat, komunikatif, dan konsisten berperan penting dalam mendukung perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak usia dini.
