Abstract

The Surabaya Mengajar Batch 7 Program aims to study the profile of SD Negeri Manukan Kulon VI, the vision and mission implemented, the organizational structure and work procedures of the school, the culture and values ​​adopted, the activities of general and special teachers, the student learning process, and formal ceremonial activities. The Surabaya Mengajar Batch 7 Program will run from February to June 2025. The purpose of this program is to provide teaching experience, broaden horizons, training and development of skills, independence, responsibility, and the ability to develop professionalism in the field of teaching or education. The program will also provide opportunities for students to apply their own discoveries. At SD Negeri Manukan Kulon VI, the Surabaya Mengajar Batch 7 Program runs from September 10 to June 2, 2024. To start the Surabaya Mengajar Program work program, observations were carried out both physically and non-physically to see how the school looks as a whole, including facilities, infrastructure, teaching materials, and other learning equipment. Based on the results of the observations, a schedule was made for the preparation and implementation of the Surabaya Mengajar Program. With the Surabaya Mengajar Program at SD Negeri Manukan Kulon VI, students can improve their teaching skills, implement activity programs that aim to optimize the potential in schools, provide opportunities for students to learn and recognize problems in schools related to the learning process and school administration, and exchange knowledge, skills, and attitude values ​​that have been learned in real life at school.

Abstract

This research uses descriptive quantitative survey research. This study aims to determine the relationship between student perceptions of using DeepSeek on the effectiveness of mathematics learning. The sample in this study were 100 students majoring in mathematics at Surabaya State University. The sampling technique was carried out by means of probability sampling technique, namely simple random sampling. The data source of this research is the result of a survey conducted on the sample. In this survey, researchers used a questionnaire regarding students' perceptions of the use of DeepSeek on the effectiveness of mathematics learning with a Likert scale analyzed using Pearson's correlation analysis. The results showed that the correlation analysis between the independent variable (student perceptions in using DeepSeek) and the dependent variable (the effectiveness of mathematics learning) revealed a strong and positive relationship between the two variables. This means that there is a fairly strong and positive relationship between student perceptions of using DeepSeek and the effectiveness of mathematics learning.

Abstract

Permasalahan prioritas dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah rendahnya kompetensi guru matematika SMP dalam memanfaatkan teknologi pembelajaran berbasis Virtual Reality (VR) dan Augmented Reality (AR) menggunakan aplikasi CoSpaces Edu. Sebagian besar guru masih memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas terhadap teknologi pendidikan berbasis CoSpaces Edu. Hal ini mengakibatkan minimnya penggunaan bahan ajar interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga siswa cenderung kurang tertarik dan kurang memahami konsep matematika. Selain itu, rendahnya literasi teknologi di kalangan guru juga menyebabkan keterbatasan dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang inovatif dan interaktif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, menghasilkan bahan ajar inovatif dan menarik bagi siswa melalui CoSpaces Edu. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah diskusi dan workshop. Pada kegiatan ini terdapat tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat prosentase peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan guru tentang media dan modul interaktif terintegrasi CoSpaces Edu sebesar 30,81. Hal ini terlihat dari skor rata-rata untuk pretest adalah 70, sedangkan skor rata-rata untuk posttest adalah 91. Selain itu, hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa peserta (guru) memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap pelaksanaan workshop tersebut. Skor rata-rata keseluruhan dari kuesioner adalah 3,69 dari skor maksimal 4 dan termasuk dalam kategori Sangat Baik.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis krusial dalam membantu siswa memahami konsep-konsep matematika dan menyelesaikan soal matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan agar dapat menggambarkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika terakait materi perbandingan, dengan mempertimbangkan gaya belajar masing-masing. Tiga siswa dipilih sebagai subjek penelitian, sebagai perwakilan gaya belajar masing-masing siswa. Pemilihan dilakukan berdasarkan hasil ulangan harian, dengan kategori nilai 85 sebagai kemampuan tinggi, nilai 70 – 84 sebagai kemampuan sedang, dan nilai 70 sebagai kemampuan rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner gaya belajar, tes berpikir kritis, serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual dan auditori cenderung menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang baik, terutama pada aspek analisis dan inferensi, kemampuan menyusun bentuk matematika yang tepat, serta menyampaikan penjelasan yang jelas, dan menyimpulkan jawaban dengan akurat. Sedangkan, siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik umumnya hanya menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada tahap inferensi saja, yaitu dalam menyimpulkan jawaban secara tepat, namun belum maksimal dalam aspek lainnya.

Abstract

Keterampilan abad 21 yang terangkum dalam konsep 6C (berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, komunikasi, kewarganegaraan, dan karakter) merupakan kompetensi penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan global. Pembelajaran matematika dinilai memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung pengembangan keterampilan tersebut. Namun, pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih konvensional seringkali menjadi hambatan dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut. Artikel ini mengkaji pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap pengembangan keterampilan 6C dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui studi literature review dari berbagai sumber. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21, khususnya keterampilan berpikir kritis, komunikasi, kolaborasi, dan kreativitas (4C). Namun, sebagian besar penerapannya masih kurang menekankan pada penguatan karakter dan kewarganegaraan yang merupakan bagian dari keterampilan 6C.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of student anxiety on the administration of sudden mathematics quiz on the material of System of Linear Equations Two Variables (SPLDV) in class VIII Widya Darma Junior High School. The research used a quantitative approach with instruments in the form of a quiz to measure students' understanding of SPLDV and a math anxiety questionnaire to determine students' anxiety levels before and after giving sudden quizzes. The research sample consisted of 38 students from class VIII and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression test to determine the effect of anxiety with sudden mathematics quiz. The results showed that there was an effect of anxiety on student learning outcomes with the regression equation obtained was Y = 33.068 + 0.42X. From this equation, it is known that the constant (intercept) of 33.068 estimates the level of student anxiety (Y) on student grades (X) is zero which indicates a positive and unidirectional relationship between student grades and anxiety levels. This indicates that the higher the level of math anxiety, the lower the student learning outcomes. From the questionnaire results, it was found that most students experienced anxiety symptoms such as nervousness (34.4%), panic because they did not have time to study (28.1%), difficulty concentrating (43.8%), and fear of making mistakes (46.9%). This anxiety has an impact on cognitive impairment that hinders the completion of math problems.

Abstract

Constructing concepts is one of the processes in learning mathematics. Making mistakes in constructing concepts is often experienced by students in solving mathematical problems, errors in constructing concepts that can be experienced are construction pits. Construction holes can occur if the schemes that are formed in the thinking structure of students have not been fully constructed or not, students cannot construct concepts properly and completely. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that aims to defragment the students' construction holes in solving systems of equations in the linear absolute value of one variable. The subject of this study was a class X high school student who fit the indicator for defragmenting the construction pit that is answering correctly but there was a construction process that was not appropriate and students answering correctly but the concept was not fully constructed. Data collection was carried out using test and interview instruments and analyzed ie reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is done by passing triangulation by comparing test results with interview results. From the results of this study it was found that students 'construction holes were located when simplifying absolute values ​​and determining the values ​​of  and  were therefore given defragmenting by providing conflict cognitive to sensitize students' mistakes in simplifying absolute values ​​and then new schemes emerged through scaffolding so that schemes were not constructed in a constructional manner. complete when determining the values ​​of  and  can be completely constructed.

Abstract

The role of technology (science and technology) is currently very much needed as a means of conducting online learning. One of the technologies that can be applied in bold learning is the Zoom Meeting Cloud application. The purpose of this service is to provide training to kindergarten teachers in operating the Zoom Cloud Meeting application as a bold learning tool. The method used is in the form of training. The subject of the study are 6 orders of people and is a kindergarten teacher. The performance indicator in the implementation of this service program is 70% of participants can operate the Zoom Cloud Meeting application. Based on the results of the training, it shows that the training participants can be categorized into 2, namely participants who succeed in achieving 5 indicators (100%) with 2 participants and participants who reach 4 indicators (80%) with 4 participants in using the Zoom Cloud Meeting application. From this training the participants were greatly helped because the previous participants had not been able to operate the Zoom Cloud Meeting application but after the training participants were able to run the Zoom Cloud Meeting application.

Abstract

Students’ mathematical literacy in Indonesia is considered relatively low, partly due to the limited availability of supporting learning materials. Therefore, the development of innovative instructional materials is needed to enhance mathematical literacy. An ethnomathematics approach has the potential to improve students’ understanding and learning motivation while supporting contextual learning and strengthening character education. This approach emphasizes key aspects of mathematical literacy, including the ability to formulate, apply, interpret, and evaluate mathematical concepts within cultural and real-life contexts. This study aims to develop an e-thno comic on the topic of systems of linear equations in three variables that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students’ mathematical literacy. The development model used in this research is ADDIE. The e-thno comic was tested on 20 vocational high school students. Data were collected through validation sheets, mathematical literacy pre-tests and post-tests, and student response questionnaires. The data were then analyzed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. The results show that the e-thno comic is categorized as highly valid, with a validity score of 86.11%. It is also considered highly practical, based on student response questionnaire results with a score of 89.41%. Furthermore, the e-thno comic is proven effective, as indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.61 and a 61% increase in the average pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, the developed e-thno comic meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness and can be used as an alternative learning medium to enhance students’ mathematical literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to exploring how motivational videos can enhance students' mathematical thinking skills. The research employed a qualitative exploratory descriptive method involving eighth-grade students at one state junior high school in Surabaya who were selected based on high pretest scores. The students were given a motivational video designed to present the concept of Systems of Linear Equations of Two Variables through real-life applications and visual explanations. Data collection was conducted through pretest and posttest tasks and analyzed using document analysis techniques to observe students’ development in forming mathematical models, selecting appropriate strategies (substitution and elimination), and drawing logical conclusions. The results showed significant improvements in students' problem-solving abilities, conceptual understanding, and confidence in applying systematic procedures. Qualitative changes were also evident in their metacognitive behaviors, such as planning and evaluating solution steps. In addition, the videos reduced students' anxiety towards mathematics and increased their motivation to learn. These findings indicate that motivational videos, when designed pedagogically and contextually, can effectively support the development of higher-order thinking skills in mathematics learning. The study suggests that teachers integrate digital media into classroom instruction to foster deeper cognitive engagement. Although limited to two subjects, this research provides important insights and encourages further studies with broader samples to evaluate the long-term impact of video-based learning on student thinking development.
