Abstract

Background: Inferior myocardial infarction (MI) with right ventricular (RV) involvement will increase mortality and morbidity. Data of systolic and diastolic RV function in inferior ST-segment elevation MI (STEMI) are useful to predict the RV involvement.  Aims: To evaluate the prognostic and diagnostic significance of RV systolic and diastolic function compared to RVMI diagnostic criteria by electrocardiography in inferior MI patients. Methods: Consecutive patients with first, acute, inferior STEMI were prospectively assessed. The RVMI was defined as an ST-segment elevation ≥ 0.1 mV in lead V4R. Echocardiography was performed within 24 hours of the inferior STEMI symptoms. We assessed the RVMI diagnostic criteria in inferior MI patients using echocardiography. Results: Out of 31 patients (mean age 56.39 ± 9.02 years), RVMI by electrocardiography and echocardiography was found in 18 (37%). Moreover, multivariate analysis showed that two variables ” RV systolic and diastolic function, were independent predictors of RVMI in inferior MI patients. Sensitivity and specificity of the RV systolic function were 94.4% and 69.2%, respectively, while RV diastolic functions were 44% and 76.9%, respectively. Conclusion: RV systolic function predict RVMI with relatively high sensitivity and specificity. RV diastolic function predicts RVMI with relatively low sensitivity but with high specificity.   Received: 5 September 2017, Reviewed: 17 October 2017; Received in revised form: 22 January 2018; Accepted: 28 February 2018.

Abstract

This research examined Covid-19 from the perspective of legal and health protection by regional governments. Generally, regional governments are at the front line in protecting communities in this autonomy era due to their constitutional obligations. Data also shows that the creative economy actors in the micro, small, and medium business sector constitute over 90% of the workforce, necessitating their protection. This research used empirical-juridical research with an interdisciplinary approach examined the legislation and the community's reality. A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with relevant stakeholders and creative economy business actors in Surakarta, Bandung, and Madiun cities. Furthermore, concepts of legal, health, and economic theories were reviewed to formulate a regional government policy draft regarding these business actors during the Covid-19 emergency. The results showed an existing form of legal protection regulation related to health and the economy at the national level. However, three big cities (Bandung, Madiun, and Surakarta) representing three provinces  as research objects are yet to provide regional regulations concerning protection for creative economy actors, though the local government has encouraged an increase in their activities

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia currently is experiencing a shift in disease patterns marked by a significant increase in the number of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially cardiovascular diseases, specifically diabetes mellitus (DM). A similar phenomenon also occurs in Surakarta city. Community service team conducts educational activities and health checks that aim to increase the knowledge of members of the Klub Jantung Sehat (KJS) related to cardiovascular disease as well as for screening risk factors for cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, hyperuricemia, diabetes mellitus (DM), and obesity. The methods used are counseling and checking blood pressure, uric acid, blood sugar at any time, and anthropometry. This community service activity was attended by 33 KJS members and was held on Sunday, 23 June 2024 at 07.00 - 09.00 at the Faculty of Sports, Sebelas Maret University (FKOR UNS) Jl. Menteri Supeno, Manahan, Banjarsari, Surakarta City, Central Java, however only 19 participants took part in the complete screening. The results achieved from this community service are an increase in the knowledge of KJS members related to cardiovascular diseases through discussions during counseling as well as during health checkups. The results of the health examination, it was found that 6 people (31.58%) had hypertension, 2 people (10.52%) had DM, and 11 people (57.89%) were found to meet the criteria of overweight and obesity. The members of KJS who had uric acid levels above normal were 10 people (52.63%). Similar activities should be carried out regularly and continuously as a preventive and promotive effort against non-communicable diseases in the community.
