Abstract

Validity is an action taken in research to find out the weaknesses and strengths of a product developed in the form of teaching materials. The validated teaching material is a popular scientific book on ethnobotany Adenostemma lavenia in the Bakumpai Dayak community, Bagus Village, Barito Kuala Regency. The validator consists of 2 experts from Lambung Mangkurat University. The research method used is development research with an education Research and Development (RnD) with the Plomp model validity test. The results of the validity of this popular scientific book have a value of 3.6 with very valid criteria.

Abstract

Twenty-first century education demands that educators possess innovative and creative skills in developing teaching materials that support the achievement of learning objectives. One type of teaching material that can be developed is a booklet. Booklets, as printed learning media, offer several advantages, such as accessibility without an internet connection and the ability to present colorful and visually engaging content. The development of a booklet can incorporate plant diversity materials based on local potential, such as the Moraceae family, which students frequently encounter in their daily lives. The development process includes product feasibility testing, one of which involves assessing its validity. This study aims to describe the validity of the developed booklet. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Plomp model, which consists of five stages. The validity test results showed a score of 91.40%, categorized as “very valid.” These findings indicate that the developed booklet is ready to be implemented as enrichment material for the biodiversity concept, as it meets twelve aspects of teaching material validity and has been revised to ensure high quality. The content of the booklet is designed to align with students’ competencies, curriculum requirements, and scientific principles.

Abstract

Background: Penggunaan pestisida sintetis yang masih dominan dalam sektor pertanian berdampak buruk terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, dilakukan pelatihan kepada mahasiswa mengenai pembuatan pestisida nabati yang ramah lingkungan dan mengangkat kearifan lokal. Metode: Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan cara sosialisasi dan praktik langsing di Laboratorium Biologi Umum Universitas Lambung Mangkurat dengan melibatkan 46 mahasiswa, serta memanfaatkan bahan alami seperti daun mimba, kunyit, dan serai wangi. Hasil: Melalui sesi penyuluhan dan praktik langsung, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam meramu biopestisida. Pelatihan ini juga berkontribusi terhadap penguatan pertanian berkelanjutan serta mendorong softskill potensi kewirausahaan berbasis sumber daya lokal. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan pembuatan biopestisida nabati berhasil mencapai target yang telah direncanakan, yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan solusi pengendalian OPT yang ramah lingkungan berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the results of the exploration stage; (2) describe the formative evaluation results, including the validity and practicality of the media; and (3) describe the effectiveness of the media in improving senior high school students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a research and development (R&D) method using the 4D model, which consists of the define, design, development, and disseminate stages. The validation subjects included two Biology Education lecturers and one biology teacher, while the practicality and effectiveness tests involved 15 tenth-grade students from class X-2 in the 2024/2025 academic year at SMA Negeri 1 Karang Intan. The results indicated that the AR flashcard media was valid, with an average score of 3.83; practical, with a score of 3.66; and effective, based on an N-Gain score of 0.5 (moderate category). Therefore, this media is feasible to be used as an interactive teaching material to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in biology learning. abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) mendeskripsikan hasil eksplorasi; (2) mendeskripsikan hasil uji formatif meliputi kevalidan dan kepraktisan media; dan (3) mendeskripsikan keefektifan media dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4D, yang meliputi empat tahapan utama:  tahap define, design, development, dan disseminate. Subjek validasi terdiri dari dua dosen Pendidikan Biologi dan satu guru biologi, sedangkan uji kepraktisan dan keefektifan melibatkan 15 peserta didik kelas X-2 tahun ajaran 2024/2025 di SMA Negeri 1 Karang Intan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media flashcard AR dinyatakan valid dengan skor rata-rata 3,83, praktis dengan skor 3,66, dan efektif berdasarkan perolehan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,5 (kategori sedang). Dengan demikian, media ini dapat digunakan secara efektif sebagai alat bantu ajar yang interaktif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
