Abstract

Etnobotani merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari interaksi antara manusia dengan tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan secara tradisional turun temurun sehingga menjadi pengetahuan lokal di suatu suku, etnik, dan daerah. Hymenachne amplexicaulis banyak ditemukan pada Masyarakat Dayak Bakumpai di Desa Bagus Kabupaten Barito Kuala, terutama di daerah rawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek etnobotani Hymenachne amplexicaulis pada Masyarakat Dayak Bakumpai di Desa Bagus Kabupaten Barito Kuala Hasil penelitian deskriptif menunjukkan adanya enam aspek etnobotani Hymenachne amplexicaulis, aspek botani Hymenachne amplexicaulis merupakan tumbuhan berhabitus herba, aspek farmakologi Hymenachne amplexicaulis digunakan sebagai obat kayap, aspek ekologi Hymenachne amplexicaulis digunakan sebagai penghijauan pada daerah Desa Bagus, aspek sosioantropologi Hymenachne amplexicaulis tidak dimanfaatkan masyarakat dalam kepercayaan Dayak Bakumpai Bagus, aspek ekonomi Hymenachne amplexicaulis dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak dan sampo, aspek linguistik disebut kumpai minyak karena kumpai artinya rumput dan minyak karena berminyak.

Abstract

An encyclopedia book is a book that has thorough information that explains concepts and displays important images that are organized systematically and alphabetically. It may be used to exercise critical thinking abilities. The purpose of this study is to describe the validity, practicability, and efficacy of Banua Botanical Garden's encyclopedia of the clusiaceae family. The research development of this encyclopedia uses the Educational Design Research (EDR) research method with Tessmer's formative evaluation design. Expert exam subjects are three lecturers from the Biology Education Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University, individual test subjects are four Phanerogamae course students, and small group test subjects are four Phanerogamae course students. Details of data are obtained from the instruments of content validity, practicality of content, practicality of expectations, and effectiveness of expectations. The study's findings revealed: 1) the validity of the encyclopedia of valid categories; 2) the practicality of category content and category expectations is extremely excellent; 3) The effectiveness of category expectations is very good for training students' critical thinking skills. The encyclopedia book clusiaceae family of Banua Botanical Garden can be one of the teaching materials that can improve the learning process in the Phanerogamae course because it has attractiveness, is easy to use and effectively trains students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Ethnobotany describes the relationship between plant benefits and communities over generations. Limnocharis flava (L.) Buch. is one of the plants utilized by Bakumpai Dayak community in Bagus Village and can be studied ethnobotanically. This research aims to describe the ethnobotanical study of Limnocharis flava (L.) Buch. in the Bakumpai Dayak community of Bagus Village, Barito Kuala District, and to determine the validity and readability of the content of the popular scientific book developed on the ethnobotany of genjer. This research used the development research method based on Plomp's model (1997) to develop teaching materials in the form of a popular scientific book. The results of this development research show six aspects/studies of genjer ethnobotany: genjer botanical study has a round stem (globosus), genjer ethno-pharmacological study as a remedy for tonsillitis and appetite enhancer supplement, genjer ethno-ecological study based on its growing conditions already meeting optimal conditions, genjer ethno-socioanthropological study as a complementary vegetable for wedding and celebration events, genjer ethno-economic study used as a mixture for raw vegetables and sold in markets, and genjer ethno-linguistic study named "genjir" by the Bakumpai Dayak community due to its aligned growth. The validity test results for developing the popular scientific book show highly valid results with an average score of 3.5. The readability test results for the content of the popular scientific book show very good results, with an average score of 89.5%.

Abstract

Etnobotani merupakan cabang ilmu biologi yang mempelajari tentang pemanfaatan tumbuhan oleh suatu etnis di daerah tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etnobotani Tumbuhan Sangkareho (Callicarpa longifolia L.) pada Masyarakat Dayak Bakumpai di Kabupaten Barito Kuala. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data secara snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Tumbuhan Sangkareho merupakan tumbuhan berhabitus perdu (kajian botani) yang memiliki banyak manfaat salah satunya adalah daunnya yang bisa dibuat menjadi “untalan” (kajian farmakologi). Dalam penggunaanya masyarakat mempercayai pemakaian daun secara ganjil (kajian sosioantropologi). Tumbuhan ini dapat dijadikan campuran dalam pembuatan jamu tradisional yang dapat diperjual belikan (kajian ekonomi). Tumbuhan ini juga memiliki peran bagi lingkungan dalam penghijauan dan peneduh (kajian ekologi). Pemberian nama tumbuhan ini sudah ada sejak dahulu dan diajarkan secara turun-temurun (kajian linguistik). Abstract

Utilizing the local potential of part of the Artocarpus group, can be used as contextual teaching material in education by utilizing teaching materials in the form of brochures. Utilizing local potential-based learning with this brochure can improve student learning outcomes. The aim of this study is to explain the variation of Artocarpus (Artocarpus group) in Tanta Village, Tabalong Regency. Describe the validity and test the practicality of a brochure regarding Artocarpus variations (Artocarpus type) in Tanta Village, Tabalong Regency which was created as a source of learning material for the kingdom plantae sub-concept in high school. The approach used in this study is research & development using the Plomp model up to 5 phases, with restrictions on the implementation phase to distribution in experimental schools and the internet or website. Research findings identified 6 types and 3 varieties of Artocarpus, namely, Artocarpus heterophllyus (Jackfruit, Jackfruit Billulang, Jackfruit Porridge), Artocarpus atilitis (Breadfruit), Artocarpus elasticus (Terap), as well as Artocarpus integer (Cempedak), Artocarpus teysmanni (Water Cempedak), Artocarpus lanceifolius (keledang). The findings for making brochures based on the validity evaluation are said to be very strong with an average value of 3.7, the usability evaluation is classified as very effective with an average value of 91.15%. When a work is considered very valid and very effective, it can be used as an addition to the Biology learning process, especially on the topic of kingdom plantae in high school.

Abstract

The development of popular scientific books with local potential is believed to be able to support learning resources based on local potential. Popular scientific books are structured as learning resources for enrichment materials for the Zingiberidae subclass in the Phanerogamae course. Known as the ginger family, Zingiberaceae is widely used in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia for its unique taste, ornamental appeal, and medicinal value. The purpose of this study was to describe the species diversity of Zingiberaceae in Barimbun Village, Tabalong Regency, and to describe the suitability, feasibility, and readability of the results of the development of a popular scientific book on Zingiberaceae Diversity in Barimbun Village, Tabalong Regency. The research method used is research and development (R&D) concerning the 4D development model.  Based on the research results, 7 species were obtained consisting of the genera Amomum, Alpinia, Curcuma, Zingiber, and Kaempferia. The results of the suitability test were stated to be very suitable with a value of 4.5. The results of the feasibility test were declared very feasible with a value of 4.3. The results of the readability test by students were stated to be very good with a value of 4.5.

Abstract

Artikel ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas booklet yang dikembangkan mengenai keragaman jenis belalang (Orthoptera) di persawahan Desa Beringin Kencana Kecamatan Tabunganen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development dengan model Borg and Gall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validitas booklet oleh 2 orang validator ahli mendapatkan presentase rerata untuk aspek kelayakan isi sebesar 95,83%, aspek kesesuaian bahasa sebesar 100%, dan aspek kelayakan penyajian sebesar 97,92%. Sehingga diperoleh rata-rata dari ketiga aspek tersebut sebesar 97,91% dengan kategori sangat valid.

Abstract

The green planthopper (Nephotettix virescens) is a major pest that significantly disrupts rice production by transmitting grassy stunt and empty grain viruses. This research aims to develop an effective botanical pesticide from Kuit lime (Citrus amblycarpa) and Gelinggang (Cassia alata) leaf extracts to control green planthopper populations. The study employed an experimental method with three treatment groups: Kuit lime leaf extract, Gelinggang leaf extract, and a combination of both, alongside a chemical pesticide as the control. Mortality rates of green planthoppers were recorded and analyzed. The results showed that the combined extract had the highest efficacy with a mortality rate of 97.5%, followed by Gelinggang extract (85%), and Kuit lime extract (82.5%). The chemical pesticide achieved 100% mortality. The study concludes that the combined extract of Kuit lime and Gelinggang leaves is a highly effective botanical pesticide against N. virescens. This finding supports the use of environmentally friendly plant-based insecticides as a sustainable alternative to synthetic pesticides. Further research is recommended to explore field-scale application and long-term effects on non-target organisms.

Abstract

Microscopes in learning biology are very important as a tool for students in studying microscopic organisms and objects that cannot be seen by the eye directly. The results of the needs analysis show that biology education students in the Year of 2022 have never received training in the use and maintenance of microscopes and have never used a microscope with a magnification of 1000x. therefore, 98% of the survey results to participants indicate the need for training in the use of microscopes. The training on the use of light microscope was trained to make wet mount preparations of Rhoeo discolor leaf stomata and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower pollen. The microscopes used were monocular microscope and electric binocular microscope. The microscope magnifications used were 10x10; 10x40; and 10x100. The training results show that students are able to use all microscope magnifications and figures of the results of microscope observations well and clearly. The results of the microscope proficiency test were 21.06%, very good; 45.61% good/adequate grades; 24.56 adequate grades, but there were 8.7% still getting poor grades. The next service can be trained in making preparations with the whole mount preparation method, squash method for mitosis observation, slice preparation method without embedding and slice preparation method with paraffin method.
