Abstract

The learning media used includes human-based, print, visual, and audio-visual media, which are aimed at helping students understand the basic reading material. This study examines the use of learning media in teaching reading for grade 1 students of SDN 9 Sungai Ambawang, an elementary school in a rural area with limited facilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, through observation and interviews with teachers. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that human-based media, such as lectures and discussions, were most predominantly used (56%), while visual and audio-visual media were underutilized (16% and 4%). Although the limitations of the means affect the use of more modern media, teachers' innovations in utilizing simple media are still effective in helping students learn to read. This study recommends increasing the use of visual and audio-visual media to increase students' interest and understanding, as well as the importance of paying attention to local contexts, including the use of regional languages in reading learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the initial reading ability of grade 1 students of SDN 38 Sungai Ambawang. This type of research uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique in this study uses the EGRA test. The researcher used the EGRA test in assessing the initial reading ability of grade 1 students of SDN 38 Sungai Ambawang. The EGRA test consists of five aspects, namely knowing letters, reading words, reading words that have no meaning, fluency in reading aloud and comprehension of reading and listening (listening comprehension). The results of the study showed that the ability of grade 1 students of SDN 38 Sungai Ambawang in the aspect of recognizing letters was 77%, of which 5 out of 15 students were still unable to recognize letters. The aspect of word reading resulted from the average ability of students was 69%, of which 6 out of 15 students were found to be in the good to very good category in word reading. The aspect of reading words has no meaning found that 7 out of 15 students are still not good at reading words that do not mean the average score of the whole student, which is 60%. The aspects of fluency in reading aloud and comprehension were found as many as 7 out of 15 students were less able in reading aloud and reading comprehension, their average score was 60%. The aspect of listening (listening comprehension) was found as many as 7 out of 15 students who were not completely good at answering questions given by the researcher about the reading, read with an average score of 63% of their ability

Abstract

Berdasarkan wawancara dengan penyusun soal PAS Kelas V Tema Semester ganji, diperoleh informasi bahwa soal PAS tersebut, telah diujikan tanpa melalui tahapan analisis butir soal secara logis rasional. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui seberapa besar proporsi persentase jenjang ranah kognitif butir soal pilihan ganda dan mengetahui seberapa besar kesesuaian jenjang ranah kognitif antara tujuan pembelajaran soal PAS kelas V semester Ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 SDN 29 Sanggau Kecamatan Kapuas Kabupaten Sanggau. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa soal yang dianalisis ditinjau dari aspek jenjang ranah kognitif. Distribusi jenjang ranah kognitif pada soal Tema 1 terdapat 14 (31%) butir soal berkategori mengingat (C1), 11 (24%) butir soal berkategori memahami (C2), 4 (9%) butir soal berkategori mengaplikasikan (C3), 12 (27%) butir soal berkategori menganalisis (C4), 4 (9%) butir soal berkategori mengevaluasi (C5) dan tidak terdapat (0%) butir soal berkategori menciptakan (C6). Soal Tema 2 terdapat 11 (24%) butir soal berkategori mengingat (C1), 13 (29%) butir soal berkategori memahami (C2), 10 (22%) butir soal berkategori mengaplikasikan (C3), 7 (16%) butir soal berkategori menganalisis (C4), 4 (9%) butir soal berkategori mengevaluasi (C5) dan tidak terdapat (0%) butir soal berkategori menciptakan (C6).

Abstract

Literacy practice has not yet become an ideal condition in West Kalimantan. In the cultural dimension, the habit of accessing literacy materials is the province with the 3rd lowest index score. Various studies state that literacy in the early grades will affect the success of learning in other areas of learning, even in subsequent classes. This research aims to produce a digital story calendar product containing local wisdom values that are appropriate as a strategy to strengthen literacy in the early grades. This study's method adapted Borg and Gall's research procedures. In the validation test, the percentage of media expert validators was 89%, language expert validators 88%, material expert validators 90%, and education practitioners 92.1%. In addition, limited trial results were obtained by 80% in small group trials and 85% in large group trials. These results show the percentage is in the high category. Therefore, a digital story calendar contains local wisdom Values as a Strategy for Strengthening Student Literacy in Early Grades which shows that it is suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

Learning practices that occur in West Kalimantan, including in Pontianak are still found to be conventional and conceptual. Implementation of learning in the classroom is still teacher-centered rather than student-centered. Such a pattern certainly will not contribute much to improving the quality of education and obtaining better learning outcomes. Innovation needs to be done to overcome conditions like this in the hope that teachers can present meaningful learning and provide experiences to students. Lesson study activities can be used as an alternative to encourage changes in learning in Indonesia to be more optimal and effective. The method used in this community service activity is in the form of outreach, the practice of preparing lesson study designs, and implementing lesson study in class. Community service activities through lesson study training provide several benefits, such as: (1) mutually beneficial collaboration between teachers; (2) there is an increase in teacher skills in developing innovative lesson design in schools; (3) there is a change in the pattern of learning interaction in class; and (4) increased active participation and high-order thinking skills of students.

Abstract

The learning process of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) requires adequate teaching materials and integrated with innovative approaches to make learning more interesting, practical, and fun. The integration of the STEM-PjBL approach can be an option in the development of teaching materials because it encourages students to develop process skills through real problem-solving-based learning, practicum implementation, and project activities. This study aims to produce IPAS teaching materials that are in accordance with the content of science based on STEM-PjBL for phase C of grade V thus supporting the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum and improving process skills as an integral part of science learning. The development method used is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Validation of teaching materials was carried out by media experts with a match rate of 88% (very feasible), material experts at 83% (very feasible), and language experts at 82% (very feasible). Additionally, small group trials with students resulted in an 80.14% (good), suggesting that the materials are engaging and effective. The integration of STEM-PjBL supports the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, emphasizing the development of students' process skills through real-world problem-solving, practical activities, and projects. Given the high feasibility ratings from experts and positive feedback from students, the developed science teaching materials have the potential to be widely adopted in grade V, improving the overall science learning experience. Future research should explore long-term impacts, comparative effectiveness, teacher training, technological integration, and broader demographic studies. These materials enhance learning experiences, support the Merdeka curriculum, improve process skills, provide valuable teacher resources, and can inform educational policy.

Abstract

Satu diantara PAUD di wilayah Kubu Raya yang dikukuhkan pada tahun 2017 adalah PAUD Nurul Fattah. Lokasinya di Parit Baru, di dekat Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Kalimantan Barat. Kebutuhan akan pendidikan anak usia dini diprakarsai oleh tuntutan masyarakat di lingkungan sekitar. Kebutuhan akan literasi sebagai kecakapan hidup di abad ke-21 tidak dapat diabaikan. Namun, fasilitas PAUD Nurul Fattah tidak memenuhi kebutuhan untuk literasi dan pembelajaran. Prasarana didanai secara pribadi, sehingga pemenuhannya tidak optimal. Membangun praktik budaya literasi melalui pojok literasi adalah tujuan dari kegiatan PkM ini. Metode PkM terdiri dari perencanaan, penyuluhan, dan pendampingan. Akan tetapi, pada kegiatan ini lebih difokuskan pada pendampingan. Kepala sekolah berkolaborasi dengan persiapan dan menyebarkan kegiatan PkM. Pendampingan pengelolaan pojok literasi melalui kerja sama tim PkM dan guru melalui kegiatan literasi. Kegiatan PkM berjalan dengan lancar. Kerja sama yang terencana antara tim PkM, guru, maupun orang tua untuk mendukung praktik literasi dan pengembangan kreatifitas siswa. Melalui pojok literasi dan kegiatan literasi serta pemajangan hasil karya siswa merupakan suatu bentuk dukungan dalam menerapkan literasi anak sejak dini.

Abstract

Reading is the first step for students to understand learning. This research aims to examine initial reading abilities in terms of the scope of literacy in grade 1 students at SD Negeri 51 Sungai Raya. The type of research used is qualitative. The subject of this research was class 1B students with a total of 20 students. The main data used are test sheets and interview sheets. The analysis consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentasion, data conclusions and data verificayion. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the initial reading ability of class 1 students in terms of the scope of literacy is said to be good because the focus of the first research was recognizing letters verry wel with a percentage of 87,5% of students’ initial reading ability; the seconf reseatch focus atated that the picture group was very good with a percentage 0f 97,5% of students’ initial reading ability; and the third research focus was reading one’s own name well with a percentage of 87,5% initial reading ability in class 1b students at SD Negeri 51 Sungai Raya
