Abstract

This study aims to analyze a collection of previous research through a meta-analysis that investigates the effect of using digital-based learning media on students' critical thinking skills. This analysis is important because many students still exhibit limitations in critical thinking abilities. The articles included were obtained using Publish or Perish 8 with publication years ranging from 2015 to 2025, resulting in 23 data points from 21 selected articles. Several moderator factors considered in this meta-analysis include educational level, year of publication, and source of publication. The results regarding the influence of digital-based learning media on students' critical thinking skills are as follows: (1) there is a significant overall effect with an effect size (ES) of 1.086 (categorized as high); (2) the effect is more effective when used at the elementary school level or equivalent (ES = 1.7396, high category) based on educational level; (3) the influence is greater in the post-COVID-19 period (ES = 1.1504, high category) based on year of publication; and (4) a greater effect is found in articles published in conference proceedings (ES = 1.3627, high category) based on publication source.

Abstract

This study was intended to know students’ achievement and ability development in mathematical problem solving through contextual learning. This study was conducted in experimental method comparing the mathematical problem solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach and students that were taught by conventional learning. This research design used pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of grade VIII at a school with 80 students from two classes as sample subject. The experimental group was taught using contextual learning and control group was taught using conventional approach. The instrument which was used in this study is mathematical problem-solving ability test and student affective scale based on Likert scale. From this study, it can be concluded that: 1) the mathematical problem-solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach is better than students that were taught using conventional approach; 2) the development of mathematical problem-solving ability of students that were taught through contextual approach is better than student that were taught using conventional approach; 3) the students showed positive affective in contextual learning.

Abstract

One of the mathematical abilities that need to be owned by junior school students is a problem-solving ability. By having the ability of problem solving, the students can be a good problem solver in every field that they do later. In fact, there are many junior high school students who have not achieved a good mathematical problem solving, especially in SPLDV topic. This research aims to improve students' problem-solving ability through the application of Pembelajaran Pelangi Matematika model in SPLDV topic. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis method, any giving of the treatment was observed through observation sheets of student activity and observation sheet of teacher activities. To know the result of the given treatment, performed the final test and questionnaire. The results obtained from this study are the application of PPM models are able to bring students into the learning situation more meaningful and enjoyable in the process of classroom learning. The strategy of grouping students homogeneously brings independence and confidence of students to solve problems encountered. The steps used by PPM model make students did not feel depressed and even tend to be enthusiastic during the learning process takes place. Enhancing mathematical problem-solving ability of students at the high category and the students have a positive attitude towards the implementation of PPM model. The conclusion from this study is that the application of PPM models can enhance mathematical problem-solving ability of students, especially in the SPLDV topic.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat mendorong terjadinya pergeseran paradigma dalam proses pembelajaran matematika, di mana pembelajaran daring menjadi salah satu pilihan yang sering dilakukan. Hal tersebut berimplikasi pada adanya perubahan kerangka Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) guru dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kerangka PCK guru dalam pembelajaran matematika daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis konten yang digunakan untuk merancang kerangka konseptual PCK guru dalam pembelajaran matematika daring. Analisis konten yang dilakukan berupa literatur review dan penggalian data. Untuk penggalian data, digunakan instrumen berupa angket dan pedoman wawancara dengan subjek sebanyak lima orang guru matematika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerangka PCK guru dalam pembelajaran matematika daring dapat diadaptasi dan dioperasionalkan dari model PCK Lannin yang meliputi: knowledge of instructional strategies for mathematics, knowledge of student understanding within mathematics, knowledge of curriculum for mathematics dan knowledge of assessment for mathematics. Guru sudah memiliki paradigma, kesiapan dan faktor pendukung yang cukup baik dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran matematika daring, namun masih belum optimal dalam kemampuan dan struktur tugas siswa. Rapid technological developments encourage a paradigm shift in the mathematics learning process, where online learning is one of the choices that is often done. This implies a change in the teacher's Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) framework in learning mathematics. This study aims to describe the PCK framework of teachers in online mathematics learning. This study uses the content analysis method used to design the conceptual framework of teachers' PCK in online mathematics learning. Content analysis is carried out in the form of a literature review and data mining. For data mining, instruments in the form of questionnaires and interview guidelines were used with the subject of five mathematics teachers. The data analysis technique used is triangulation. The results showed that the teacher's PCK framework in online mathematics learning can be adapted and operationalized from Lannin's PCK model which includes knowledge of instructional strategies for mathematics, knowledge of student understanding within mathematics, knowledge of the curriculum for mathematics and knowledge of assessment for mathematics. Teachers already have a fairly good paradigm, readiness, and supporting factors in implementing online mathematics learning, but they are still not optimal in the abilities and structure of students' assignments.

Abstract

Various previous studies on the use of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model and its impact on mathematical concepts understanding provide varying reports. This research aims to evaluate the impact of the PjBL model on mathematical concepts understanding and investigate its effects based on the type of instructional media. The research method employed is quantitative with meta-analysis, intended to combine, evaluate, and integrate findings from several published studies. Data was collected through documentary studies by searching articles that published in national and international journals. 32 studies met the predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was conducted using JASP software version 0.18.1.0. The research results indicate that the effect size of the PjBL model on mathematical concepts understanding is significant in the large category. Moreover, statistically, there is significant differences of effect size of the PjBL model depending on the type of learning media used. The implementation of the PjBL model shows a very large effect size on mathematical concepts understanding when using digital learning media and a large effect when using manual learning media. Meanwhile, without using learning media, the effect size of the PjBL model on mathematical concepts understanding is in the medium category.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an E-LKPD integrated with FlippingBook technology based on the Environmath approach, as well as to investigate the enhancement of students’ metaphorical thinking skills before and after the implementation of the developed instructional materials. The study utilized a Research and Development (R&D) methodology guided by the ADDIE model, which comprises five sequential phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were gathered through observations, expert validations of both material and media aspects, and assessments of students’ metaphorical thinking abilities. The participants involved in this study included two material experts, three media experts, and twenty seventh-grade students from MTs Miftahul Falah Panumbangan. The findings revealed that during the analysis stage, a needs analysis, student analysis, and material analysis were conducted. In the design stage, test instruments were prepared, media and format were selected, and the initial product design was developed. The development stage includes the product development process, while at the implementation stage, E-LKPD was tested on students. Furthermore, at the evaluation stage, it was found that there was a significant increase in metaphorical thinking skills after students used E-LKPD assisted by FlippingBook based on environmath with the quality of the increase being in the high category.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the spatial abilities of students in light of Florence Littauer's personality types and understanding of how students personality traits can influence their mathematical spatial abilities. This research is a qualitative research with an exploratory method. Data were collected from eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Tasikmalaya, . The subjects of the research are eight eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 13 Tasikmalaya from each representing each of the four personality types. The research instruments included a personality type questionnaire, spatial ability tests, and unstructured interviews. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate variations in spatial ability achievement according to personality type. Students with a melancholic type demonstrated comprehensive mastery of all spatial indicators, while sanguine and phlegmatic students showed strengths in spatial perception as well as some aspects of visualization and rotation, though they still needed reinforcement in using geometric terminology and image representation. Meanwhile, choleric students exhibited strong mental rotation skills but experienced difficulties in visualizing objects from multiple perspectives and assembling shapes after manipulation. These findings contribute to mathematics education theory by highlighting the role of personality types in developing students’ spatial thinking skills

Abstract

This research aims to describe the procedures for developing Canva-based digital Smart Apps Creator media and analyze the effectiveness of Canva-based digital Smart Apps Creator media and increasing numeric abilities. The subjects in this research were 21 students class XI SMA 1 Pasundan. This research uses the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model through the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation stages to obtain valid and practical products. Data collection techniques in this research are through observation, structured interviews, questionnaires and numeric ability tests. The instruments used in this research were material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, user response questionnaires, and numeric ability test. Canva-based digital Smart Apps Creator media value analysis from validators obtained results of 100% for material experts in the high or very valid category, results from media experts were 100% in the high or very valid category, and index values ??from material experts were 100% in the high or valid category. The effectiveness obtained from the N-gain calculation results obtained an average of 0.68 in the medium category so that the use of Canva-based digital Smart Apps Creator media is effectively used to improve students' numeric abilities.
