Abstract

Materi larutan penyangga banyak mengandung konsep abstrak dan berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga memerlukan penjelasan dalam berbagai bentuk representasi yang dapat memvisualisasikan materi larutan penyangga sehingga diharapkan siswa dapat mengamati gejala-gejala yang terjadi dan menganalisis serta menarik kesimpulan yang lebih komprehensif. Pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang pembelajaran tersebut adalah pembelajaran multiple representasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi larutan penyangga di kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 12 Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan subyek penelitian kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 12 Semarang sebanyak 76 siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes pemahaman konsep berbentuk three-tier multiple choice yang telah divalidasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi larutan penyangga menunjukkan indikator pemahaman konsep belum semua terpenuhi secara maksimal oleh seluruh siswa. Hal tersebut karena indikator penelitian mengklasifikasikan masih tergolong kriteria sedang pada materi larutan penyangga yaitu sebesar 45,53% paham, 31,05% kurang paham, 12,96% miskonsepsi, dan 10,46% tidak paham.

Abstract

Catalytic hydrodesulfurization of Combined Gas Oil (CGO) was used  CoMo/ -Al2O3 catalyst. The reaction was carried out at the trickle bed reactor with temperature 265, 300, 300, 330°C and H2/Hydrocarbons ratio 288 and 310 m3/m3; pressure 65atm and LHSV 1.8 h-1. The study aims to determined the effect of H2/Hydrocarbons ratio and temperature in reducing sulfur content from CGO feeds. The Hydrotreating products were analyzed by Total Nitrogen Total Sulfur (TNTS), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). HDS product spesifications also analyzed using picnometer, Total Acid Number (TAN), and Doctor test Solution. The results of the analysis catalytic HDS test showed that the temperature range of 265-330°C increased and the H2/Hydrocarbons ratio 288-310 Nm3/m3, the HDS conversion was increased until 91.94%. The value of rate HDS (kHDS) also increased with temperature and H2/Hc ratio until 1,46x10-7 s-1.  The minimum energy activation required by the catalytic hidrodesulfurization reaction in ratio H2/Hc 288 m3/m3 was 54,25 kJ/mol. Abstract

Bioethanol is an alternative energy of environmentally friendly as a substitute for petroleum. Sucrose, starch, and fibrous cellulose (lignocellulose) are the main ingredients for bioethanol production. The material is very easy and abundant to get from the waste of agricultural crops. One of these agricultural wastes in Indonesia that have not been used optimally is durian seeds. Durian seeds only become waste and are not commercially useful, even though they contain high carbohydrates, which is possible as a potential new source for bioethanol production. In this work, an experimental study was conducted on bioethanol synthesis from durian seeds through fermentation by Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast in aerobic fermenter. The process for the production of starch-based bioethanol includes milling, hydrolysis, detoxification, fermentation, and distillation. At the stage of fermentation, variations in the duration of fermentation were applied for 1-11 days. Carbohydrates contained in durian seed flour are 11.541%, which is the largest content. The highest result of ethanol content is 14.72 % (v/v) in 9 day fermentation periods by using Saccharomyces cerevisiae in aerobic conditions. Distillation to enrich bioethanol was carried out by batch vacuum distillation at 68°C for ± 180 minutes and produced bioethanol with a purity of 95%.

Abstract

ρ-Menthane-3,8-diol (PMD) has been synthesized from citronellal with citric acid catalyst through a cyclization process by stirring and heating. Citric acid is used as a substitute for sulfuric acid in PMD because it is cheap, safe and is an effective alternative to synthesis. The result of PMD synthesis from citronellal by 5 g citronellal; 7 g of citric acid solution 10%; for 8 hours stirring at 50o temperature were obtained 71.15% yield; 100.00% conversion; and 71.15% selectivity. PMD gel air freshener is made using PMD then formulated with carrageenan as a gelling agent with PMD variations. The higher PMD content in gel increase the water holding capacity. The best mosquito repellent strength was obtained from PMD gel with 15% PMD which has the greatest mosquito repellent strength in 60 minute (65.00%).

Abstract

Mahasiswa pendidikan kimia sebagai calon guru kimia harus menguasai kompetensi guru salah satunya kompetensi pedagogik. Upaya untuk membekali mahasiswa pendidikan kimia agar memiliki kompetensi tersebut salah satunya dengan membuat soal HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dan bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mahasiswa pendidikan kimia dalam membuat soal HOTS berbasis multipel representasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan prosedur pengembangan Borg & Gall yang berupa 10 tahap, tetapi dibatasi hanya sampai tahap 7. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan lembar angket, uji coba soal, dan wawancara. Soal-soal yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa dikategorikan berdasarkan ranah kognitif taksonomi Bloom dan diperoleh 40 soal dengan rincian soal ranah C1 30%, C2 17,50%, C3 15%, C4 22,50%, C5 10%, dan C6 5%. Soal dengan kategori HOTS sebanyak 15 soal (37,50%). Soal  HOTS tersebut dianalisis lebih lanjut dan diperoleh reliabilitas sebesar 0,78 (tinggi) dan 11 soal memenuhi kriteria sehingga dapat digunakan. Kemampuan multipel representasi mahasiswa dalam menyusun soal HOTS mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Abstract Gempol Village is a village on Mount Ungaran that has made efforts to preserve orchid species. Through mentoring and training from the UNNES Research Team which began in 2011, as well as greenhouse facilitation from PT Indonesia Power, the Gempol village community who are members of the Omah Sawah Community began to make efforts to conserve orchid species. The results of the identification of the problems experienced by community groups as foster partners can be grouped into three aspects, namely knowledge and skills of acclimatization of orchids from plant tissue culture, post-acclimatization management/care, and supporting infrastructure for acclimatization of tissue cultured orchids, where these three aspects are interrelated. The methods used include lecture and question and answer activities, practice, and mentoring. The result achieved is that the orchid species acclimatization activity in Gempol Hamlet, Ngesrepbalong Village has been carried out with satisfactory results. Activities are carried out through training and assistance to community groups who are members of Omah Sawah. The results of the evaluation of the participants showed that the participants' understanding and skills improved after this activity was carried out, even providing ideas for participants to apply to cultivated orchids. The result is enough to generate economic income for the participants, because some of their cultivated orchids are sold. Abstrak Dusun Gempol adalah satu dusun di Gunung Ungaran yang telah melakukan upaya pelestarian anggrek species hutan . Melalui pendampingan dan pelatihan dari Tim Peneliti UNNES yang dimulai pada tahun 201, serta fasilitasi greenhouse dari PT Indonesia Power, masyarakat Dusun Gempol yang tergabung dalam Komunitas Omah Sawah mulai melakukan upaya pelestarian anggrek species. Hasil identifikasi terhadap permasalahan yang dialami kelompok masyarakat sebagai mitra binaan dapat dikelompokkan menjadi tiga aspek, yaitu pengetahuan dan keterampilan aklimatisasi anggrek hasil kultur jaringan tanaman, pengelolaan/ perawatan pasca aklimatisasi, dan sarana prasarana penunjang aklimatisasi anggrek hasil kutur jaringan, dimana ke tiga aspek ini salingterkait. Metode yang dilakukan, meliputi kegiatan ceramah dan tanya jawab, praktik, dan pendampingan. Hasil yang dicapai adalah kegiatan aklimatisasi anggrek species di Dusun Gempol Desa Ngesrepbalong telah dilaksanakan dengan hasil yang memuaskan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan terhadap kelompok masyarakat yang tergabung di Omah Sawah. Hasil evaluasi terhadap peserta menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan ketrampilan peserta meningkat setelah dilakukan kegiatan ini, bahkan memberikan ide bagi peserta untuk menerapkan pada anggrek budidaya. Hasilnya cukup membuahkan pemasukan ekonomi bagi peserta, karena beberapa anggrek budidaya mereka laku dijual.

Abstract

This study aims to identify difficult concepts and misconceptions of buffer solution material during online learning. Basic Chemistry 2 course learning on buffer solution material is carried out online. The research subjects were 25 chemistry education students who took the Basic Chemistry 2 course for the 2019/2020 academic year. The research method used is descriptive. Data collection was carried out by providing multiple-choice tests using quizzes, a questionnaire to determine learning media, and an online learning process evaluation questionnaire. The results showed that the biggest difficult concept was the working principle concept of the buffer solution (92%). The misconceptions experienced by students are assuming that the reaction of acidic and alkaline solutions always produces a buffer solution, H2SO4 and SO42- are components of the buffer solution, the addition of strong acids to alkaline buffer solutions cause the solution to be neutral, and those that play a role in determining the pH of the buffer solution are weak acids / weak bases and their salts.

Abstract

The vision of the orphanage is to create a society that is physically and mentally prosperous through empowering underprivileged children, progressively and professionally to form a generation of Khaira Ummah. To support this, the community service team needs to equip the orphanage children with knowledge and skills that are expected to provide creative ideas in entrepreneurship through the application of appropriate technology for the production of hand sanitizer from citronella oil. The resulting hand sanitizer has two functions as a natural hand antiseptic and mosquito repellent. The stages of this community service activity had been carried out by the methods of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and practices. After the activities were completed, assistance and evaluation of activities were carried out. Almost all participants had been a level of understanding of all community service activities ( 90%) which included knowledge, skills, perception, and motivation. The evaluation of the activities had been carried out by 95s of participants, satisfied with this community service activity. This community Service activity had been succeeded in equipping the orphanage children and supporting the vision of the orphanage of Khaira Ummah.
