Abstract

Entrepreneurship is an effective strategy for reducing unemployment in Indonesia, which is currently experiencing an increase in the unemployment rate. This issue poses a significant challenge to the country’s economic development. This study aims to uncover entrepreneurial innovations from an early age as a foundation for children to face increasingly competitive markets. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observations, interviews, and documentation. The sources of data include literature, scientific articles, as well as information from the principal and teachers at Muslimat NU Darunnajah Kindergarten in Kamal. The results of the study show that the entrepreneurial innovation program in early childhood education includes activities such as market day, art exhibitions, and educational tourism. These activities are designed to train children to have an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, where they learn to take risks and think critically. This program not only provides practical experience but also helps children develop essential social and emotional skills. By instilling an entrepreneurial spirit, children are expected to be better prepared to face future challenges. Therefore, this research contributes significantly as one of the ways to prepare future generations for a competitive world. Through entrepreneurship education, children not only learn about business but also about values such as teamwork, creativity, and perseverance, which are crucial for building their character. Thus, entrepreneurial innovation in early childhood education can be one of the solutions to address the unemployment issue in Indonesia in the future.

Abstract

Human resources play an important role as implementers of company policies so adequate training and career development are needed to improve their performance. This study aims to determine the influence of training and career development on the performance of employees of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, both partially and simultaneously. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Of the total 295 permanent employees, 30 people were sampled using a simple random sampling technique  based on Roscoe guidelines, taking into account limited population access. The data collection technique was carried out through observation and the distribution of questionnaires. The results of the analysis showed that partially training had a positive and significant effect on employee performance with  a calculated t value  of 3.032 > t table 2.051. Meanwhile, career development did not show a significant effect because the t-value  was calculated at 1,650 < t table 2,051, one of which was suspected to be due to a relatively small sample size so that the actual influence was not detected. Simultaneously, training and career development have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with an F score  of 8.375 >  a table  of 3.35. The R-Square value  of 0.383 indicates that 38.3% of the variation in employee performance variables (Y) can be explained by training variables (X1) and career development (X2), while the remaining 61.7% is influenced by other factors outside of this study model.

Abstract

The utilisation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in early childhood education is crucial for enhancing the quality of learning that is both interactive and engaging. This study aims to analyse the level of ICT-based learning media utilisation among kindergarten teachers in Bangkalan and identify the factors that support and hinder it. A quantitative descriptive method was employed using an online questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability (α = 0.89). The study involved 305 kindergarten teachers as respondents. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics through percentages and categorisation of utilisation levels. The results show that 96.7% of teachers have used ICT, with mobile phones being the most dominant medium (78%), indicating overutilisation. The main supporting factors are teacher motivation and school support, while obstacles include limited funding, network issues, and low teacher confidence. The findings imply the need for training and infrastructural support to enhance teachers' digital competence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of entrepreneurship activities based on the market day program in developing social skills in early childhood at TK Muslimat NU Darunnajah Kamal Bangkalan. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation at the school. The data sources include literature as well as field data, which involve the school principal, teachers, and the children. Data analysis is conducted using the model developed by Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that the market day program has a positive impact on developing children's social skills. Interactions between children and buyers or peers, such as negotiating, sharing, and resolving conflicts, enrich their social experiences. These activities help children develop important social skills, including empathy, communication, and teamwork. Additionally, the program promotes improvements in self-confidence, as children gain a sense of achievement through their involvement in entrepreneurial activities. By taking on tasks such as selling and managing products, they learn to interact effectively with others. Moreover, the market day program introduces basic entrepreneurial concepts to children. These concepts teach values such as hard work, responsibility, and appreciation for others' efforts. Children begin to understand the importance of working together to achieve goals and the rewards that come from collaboration and perseverance. This study contributes empirical evidence on the positive effects of the market day program in fostering social skills in young children. The findings can serve as a valuable reference for early childhood education institutions in designing programs that promote both social and emotional development. Additionally, the research highlights the potential of incorporating entrepreneurship education into early childhood curricula, offering an innovative approach to enriching teaching methods and preparing children for future challenges.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Indigenous parenting systems remain underexplored in early childhood social development research, particularly within non-Western cultural contexts. Addressing this gap, this study examines how Tanean Lanceng, a traditional Madurese communal living system, functions as an indigenous parenting framework that supports social skill development in early childhood. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with four early childhood teachers selected via purposive sampling from two early childhood education institutions in Bangkalan Regency, Indonesia. The data were analyzed thematically following Braun and Clarke’s six-phase approach. The findings are organized into four interrelated themes: communal interaction, which provides children with continuous opportunities to practice communication, cooperation, and emotional regulation; solidarity and mutual assistance, fostering prosocial behaviors such as helping, sharing, and group participation; politeness as moral socialization, strengthening children’s understanding of social norms and respectful behavior; and social adaptability, enabling children to adjust effectively to diverse social environments. Together, these themes demonstrate that Tanean Lanceng embeds social learning naturally within daily family life. This study contributes academically by extending culturally grounded perspectives in early childhood education and highlighting indigenous knowledge as a valuable resource for social development frameworks. Globally, the findings offer insights for multicultural and context-responsive early childhood practices beyond Western-centric models. However, the study is limited by its small sample size and localized context, suggesting the need for further research involving diverse communities and mixed-method approaches.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between digital game exposure, physical activity, and social competence among preschool children in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. While global debates frequently portray screen time as inherently detrimental, limited evidence from Southeast Asian contexts has analyzed how digital engagement and outdoor play jointly influence early social development. Grounded in Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, this research investigates associations between daily screen time, outdoor physical activity, and children’s expressive, compliant, and disruptive behaviors. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted with 213 parents of children aged 2–5 years. Social competence was measured using the culturally adapted Adaptive Social Behavior Inventory (ASBI), alongside parent-reported screen time and outdoor play duration. Multiple linear regression analyses were applied while controlling for demographic variables. The results indicate that extended screen time is negatively associated with compliant behavior, whereas outdoor physical activity is positively associated with expressive and compliant behaviors. These findings suggest that developmental outcomes depend not merely on digital exposure itself, but on the balance between individualized screen use and socially interactive play. By providing culturally contextualized evidence from Indonesia, this study contributes to a more nuanced understanding of digital childhood in non-Western settings.
