Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ditulis dengan maksud membangun kesadaran siswa terhadap metode belajar matematika menggunakan konten digital. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penilaian penulis tentang seiring dengan gerakan perkembangan teknologi yang canggih. Salah satu hasil kemajuan teknologi dan pengetahuan di era saat ini adalah YouTube. Penelitian tersebut menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yaitu salah satu metode penelitian yang bertujuan untuk memahami perilaku manusia dalam menginterpretasikan sudut pandangnya tehadap dunianya. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah konten edukasi matematika di saluran YouTube Jerome Polin, sedangkan subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas XI pada salah satu madrasah di Kudus dengan menggunakan sumber data wawancara. Artikel ini membahas mengenai pembelajaran matematika menggunakan konten digital dengan menonton video matematika di saluran YouTube Jerome Polin, salah satunya adalah video Battle Matematika yang dapat mempengaruhi motivasi belajar matematika siswa sehingga menimbulkan adanya respon positif. Berdasarkan hasil respon siswa terhadap konten edukasi matematika di YouTube Jerome Polin didapatkan hasil yakni adanya video matematika Jerome Polin ini memberikan kontribusi yang baik dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sehingga hal ini menunjukkan adanya respon positif dan menjadikannya sebagai inspirasi dan motivasi belajar. Keberhasilan pembelajaran matematika dengan konten ditunjukkan apabila respon siswa positif tentang pembelajaran matematika menggunakan konten media digital tersebut. Konten digital dinilai cocok untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran matematika siswa kelas XI. Oleh karena itu, belajar matematika menggunakan konten penting bagi siswa dalam menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0.

Abstract

Mathematics learning facilitates students to have the ability to think, analyse and solve problems critically and creatively. However, most students still struggle and give up easily in solving mathematics problems that require more reasoning. This indicates that students' mathematical habits of mind (HoM) and higher order thinking skills (HOTS) are not optimal. Therefore, this study aims to prove whether there is a relationship between mathematical HoM and HOTS of madrasah tsanawiyah students and how much mathematical HoM contributes to students' HOTS. This correlational research used a quantitative approach. The study population involved all ninth-grade students of MTs Ma'ahid Kudus, while the sample was 72 students selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained through habit of mind questionnaire and higher order thinking skills test. The findings of the research results are (1) there is a significant relationship between mathematical HoM and HOTS of madrasah tsanawiyah students. This can be seen from the Spearman rank correlation coefficient of 0.371 with a sig value. 0.001 0.05; and (2) mathematical HoM contributes 13.76% to students' HOTS. Mathematical HoM that is trained continuously will shape smart thinking and behaviour that can support the improvement of students' HOTS.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the satisfaction of prospective mathematics teachers with the services and facilities of the IAIN Kudus library. The library service indicators used in this study are the friendliness of librarians, the speed of librarians' services, librarians' initiatives, and librarians' mastery of library book collections. Meanwhile, the indicators of library facilities used in this study are book collections and reading rooms. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive type. The data collection technique in this study uses triangulation techniques, namely observation, questionnaire, and literature review. The questionnaire was distributed to IAIN Kudus mathematics education students as prospective mathematics teachers in the 2018-2021 batch, so that 56 respondents were obtained. The questionnaire was distributed on February 1-2, 2022 by containing four answers, namely very satisfied, satisfied, moderately satisfied, and dissatisfied which were then given scores of 4, 3, 2, and 1 from each answer. The score is used to find the average score with the formula X = . The calculation of the average score is then classified using intervals through the formula I = . The results of the calculation stated that the services and facilities of the IAIN Kudus library provided satisfaction at the level of satisfaction to prospective mathematics teachers with an average score of 3.01 and 3.18, respectively.

Abstract

Abstract. Covid-19 is a disease that attacks the respiratory system, symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, cough and fever. And in some people the symptoms can be more severe and cause pneumonia or difficulty breathing, a small number of these cases lead to death. This study aims to measure the efforts to deal with Covid-19 in the academic family of Nurul Jadid Probolinggo University. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. data collection on February 2, 2021 after obtaining approval from the Institute for Publishing, Research and Community Service (LP3M). Participants involved in the research were 8 people including 3 health faculty lecturers, 2 engineering faculty lecturers, 2 Islamic religion faculty lecturers and 2 education staff. The selection of participants from the population used a purposive sampling approach with the criteria being on campus when the research was carried out. The consent of the participants to be involved in the study was proven by signing the informed consent. Data collection was carried out through structured interviews using instruments in the form of new interviews containing questions about efforts to tackle Covid-19. The interview process was carried out by applying health protocols such as wearing masks, physical distancing, and washing hands before and after the interview. The data obtained were analyzed using the triangulation method of data sources to identify the categories, sub-themes, and themes of the participants' experiences. categories that have meanings are arranged to form sub-themes, then sub-themes that contain similar meanings as research themes. Data analysis was performed manually using thematic analysis methods. The results of his research show that the family of the Nurul Jadid University academic community has made efforts to tackle Covid-19. The conclusion is that the family of the academic community has made efforts to tackle Covid-19, in the form of wearing a mask while working, maintaining distance, washing hands (using a hand sanitizer), increasing immunity, applying the correct cough ethics, changing clothes or showering when you get home, controlling comorbidities and cleaning routinely objects that are often handled with disinfectants because they are aware that the Covid-19 disease is very dangerous and can die in a community.

Abstract

Statistika merupakan suatu ilmu matematika yang sangat penting bahkan dianjurkan untuk dapat difahami dalam kehidupan. Oleh sebab itu, siswa harus dapat mengerti konsep yaang digunakan dengan baik. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa serta mengetahui apakah siswa dapat mengikuti prosedur dengan baik atau tidak yang mungkin disebabkan karena kurangnya latihan dan ketelitian dalam memecahkan persoalan yang diberikan berdasarkan kesalahan kastolan. Metode dalam penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Siswa di kelas X IPS 2 pada Madrasah Aliyah di Undaan Kudus yang berjumlah 17 siswa merupakan subjek dari penelitian ini dengan menggunakan test tertulis dengan 5 soal cerita berbentuk uraian mengenai materi statistika. Analisis ini menyimpulkan bahwa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan siswa masih sering melakukan kesalahan karena mereka belum memahami konsep penggunaan rumus, salah dalam menyusun langkah-langkah yang sesuai, dan kurang teliti dalam mengitung.

Abstract

In the cultural context, traditional market snacks in the Jepara area have the potential to integrate ethnomathematics into mathematics learning. Traditional market snacks in Jepara offer various forms of snacks in which there is a geometric concept. The purpose of this study is to find out the concept of geometry in traditional market snacks in the Jepara area. In this study, qualitative methods are used with an ethnographic approach. The objects studied by the researcher were 5 traditional market snacks, with 3 respondent subjects, namely traditional market snack sellers found in Jepara market, Pecangaan market, and Tegalsambi market. Several techniques for collecting data are used in this study, including observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research conducted by the researcher, the results were obtained that there are geometric concepts and cultural elements in 5 traditional market snacks in the Jepara area, including a ball-shaped klepon, a rectangular layer, a ball-shaped onde-onde, a triangular prism-shaped banana bongko, and a solid half-ball shaped kintelan. The results of this research are expected to function as an effective alternative learning resource to introduce geometry concepts to students.

Abstract

Tradisi grebeg maulid menjadi salah satu budaya yang bisa dipakai sebagai sumber dan bahan ajar untuk menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran matematika. Tradisi tersebut bertujuan untuk memperingati hari lahirnya Nabi Muhammad SAW. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji etnomatematika yang ada terkait tradisi grebeg maulid dan bagaimana hubungannya dengan materi geometri dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan pendekatan etnografi. Wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena pada penelitian sebelumnya belum ada yang mengkaji tradisi grebeg maulid di desa tersebut. Selain itu, proses acaranya juga berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika pada tradisi grebeg maulid di Desa Kayen Landoh Pati dapat dilihat pada ancak yang berjumlah sembilan, yang memuat aktivitas mengitung dan mengukur, serta konsep matematika bilangan dan geometri. Filosofi dari ancak tersebut yaitu untuk menghormati para wali yang menduduki tanah jawa yang berjumlah sembilan. Pada bagian atap ancak terdapat konsep limas segitiga, bagian tengah dan bawah ancak terdapat konsep prisma trapesium, serta bagian alas ancak terdapat konsep persegi panjang. Penelitian ini bermanfaat dalam menyediakan bahan ajar untuk memudahkan siswa dalam mengerti konsep-konsep matematika. Kata Kunci: Etnomatematika, Pembelajaran Matematika, Grebeg Maulid

Abstract

Ethnomathematics serves as a bridge connecting culture, education, and mathematics. It involves leveraging cultural artifacts and practices to enhance mathematical understanding. The concept of ability refers to an individual's capacity to perform tasks effectively in various contexts. Numerous studies have explored the implementation of cultural artifacts, such as reed art tools, to support students' mathematical skills. However, questions remain regarding the validity of these tools in facilitating mathematical competence. This study aims to evaluate students' mathematical abilities by examining the application of ethnomathematical principles in the context of tambourine art as a cultural and artistic instrument. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology was employed, with data collected from nine journal articles retrieved from Google Scholar. The findings indicate that ethnomathematical approaches using tambourine art are effective in enhancing students' mathematical abilities, particularly at the elementary and junior high school levels.Keywords: ethnomathematics, tambourine, mathematical ability.

Abstract

Soal olimpiade matematika merupakan jenis soal dalam ranah Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). Di era sekarang peserta didik bukan hanya difokuskan untuk mampu berpikir kritis, tetapi juga harus mempunyai kemampuan literasi yang baik. Kemampuan literasi terkait budaya sekitar sangat diperlukan agar peserta didik dapat mengenal dan melestarikan budaya tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk; (1) Menghasilkan soal olimpiade matematika jenjang SMP sederajat materi kombinatorika dan peluang terintegrasi kebudayaan lokal Kudus yang valid untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman peserta didik; (2) Menganalisis kesalahan umum peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal yang dikembangkan peneliti. Penelitian ini memakai metode pengembangan dengan model formative research yang meliputi empat tahapan, yakni tahap preliminary, self-evaluation, prototyping, dan field test. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini ialah 38 peserta didik SMP 1 Kudus kelas IX, dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa tes tertulis serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya respon yang baik terhadap soal yang dikembangkan peneliti, akan tetapi masih terdapat beberapa kesalahan umum peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh simpulan bahwa: (1) Diperoleh 4 butir soal olimpiade matematika yang dinyatakan valid, dimana nilai V Aiken secara keseluruhan sama dengan 0,8; (2) Kesalahan umum peserta didik saat menyelesaikan soal yang dikembangkan peneliti meliputi kesalahan dalam memahami maksud dari soal, kesalahan dalam memahami rumus, dan kesalahan konsep.AbstractThe math olympiad question is one of the questions in the HOTS domain. In this era, students are not only focused on being able to think critically, but are also required to have good literacy skills. Literacy skills related to surrounding culture are needed so that students can recognize and preserve the culture. Therefore, the existence of this research is intended to; (1) Produce mathematics olympiad questions at the junior high school level equivalent to combinatorics and opportunities integrated with Kudus local culture that are valid to measure the level of understanding of students; (2) Analyzing students' common errors in solving researcher-developed questions. This study uses a development research method with a formative research model consisting of four stages, namely the preliminary, self-evaluation, prototyping, and field test. The test subjects in this study were 38 ninth grade students at SMP 1 Kudus, with data collection techniques in the form of written tests and interviews. The results showed a good response to the problem developed by the researcher, but there were still some common mistakes of students in solving the problem. Based on these results it can be concluded that: (1) There are 4 items of math olympiad questions that are declared valid, where the overall value of V Aiken is equal to 0.8; (2) Common errors of students when solving problems developed by researchers include errors in understanding the meaning of the problem, errors in understanding formulas, and concept errors.

Abstract

In 2015 Indonesia was ranked 44th out of 49 countries that took part in the international assessment by TIMSS. The low student learning outcomes are influenced by several factors, one of which is the lack of teacher innovation in using learning media, this results in students feeling bored in following the learning process in class. To overcome this, this can be done by utilizing fun learning media, one of which is using gamification. This research aims to determine the magnitude of the influence of gamification on student mathematics learning outcomes in Indonesia as a whole, based on the type of gamification and level of education. This research uses a quantitative approach and a meta-analysis type of research. The instrument used was a coding sheet containing data from the control group and experimental group in the form of sample size, average and standard deviation obtained from studies selected using the Publish or Perish application with the Google Scholar database. In calculating the effect size using the OpenMEE application. The results of the meta-analysis research obtained 21 studies which showed that the use of gamification had an overall effect on student mathematics learning outcomes in Indonesia of 1.054. Meanwhile, based on the type of gamification used, Wordwall has the greatest influence on improving mathematics learning outcomes with an average effect-size value of 1.818. Then based on educational level, gamification is more effectively used at elementary school level with an average of 1.381. The results of this research are useful for educators in choosing appropriate gamification-based learning media to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.
