Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of using the Indonesian language in academic presentations on the understanding of materials at Buana Perjuangan University. In the context of higher education, effective use of the language of instruction is crucial to ensure optimal understanding of the conveyed material. This research employs a quantitative method with a survey design. The research sample consists of 30 randomly selected students from various study programs. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring students' level of understanding of materials presented in Indonesian compared to foreign languages such as English. According to the questionnaire results, 42% mentioned that the influence of using Indonesian in presentations enhances understanding of the materials, and 45% stated that it significantly enhances understanding when presentations are conducted in Indonesian.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Indonesian as the national language in various aspects of life in Indonesia. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data was collected through semi-structured interviews and observations, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Normality tests with Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk showed that the data were normally distributed, while Levene's test confirmed the homogeneity of variance between data groups. The research results show that Indonesian plays an important role in the field of education as the main language of instruction, facilitating government and administration as an official language, and supporting economic growth through facilitating business transactions and promoting local products. In a socio-cultural context, Indonesian is a medium of artistic expression and an important tool in intercultural dialogue, strengthening the nation's cultural identity. This research emphasizes the important role of Indonesian in uniting the nation, facilitating communication, supporting education and government, and strengthening national identity. Continuous efforts are needed to maintain and develop the use of Indonesian so that it continues to play a vital role in the development and unification of the nation.

Abstract

The use of Indonesian in higher education has a very important role in maintaining national identity and promoting a deeper understanding of local culture. In an academic context, Indonesian is not only a communication tool, but also a teaching and research medium that can improve the quality of education. The use of this national language helps strengthen a sense of togetherness among students from various regions, reduces communication barriers, and facilitates effective knowledge transfer. Apart from that, good command of Indonesian among students and lecturers can support the government's efforts to preserve and develop the national language. This research highlights various aspects that show the importance of using Indonesian in higher education, including its impact on students' intellectual development, social integration, and cultural preservation.
