Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant decline in the pharmaceutical sector's stock price, so investors are hesitant to invest in the pharmaceutical sub-sector. This study aims to apply dynamic panel data regression analysis with the Arellano-Bond Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) approach to model the profitability of pharmaceutical sub-sector companies on the Indonesia stock exchange. Therefore, investors need to know the profitability of the pharmaceutical sub-sector to make an investment decision. This research will produce a profitability model for pharmaceutical sub-sector companies. The data in this study was obtained from observations of stock price movements of pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2013-2022. From the resulting model, it is hoped that it can provide an overview for investors to take action to invest in shares of the pharmaceutical sub-sector. The study results show that the model meets the consistency of parameters based on the results of the Arellano-Bond test and valid instruments based on the results of the Sargan test. The t-test results show that the previous period's ROA has a positive and significant influence on ROA, CR has a negative and significant influence on ROA, DR has no significant effect on ROA, and inflation has a positive and significant effect on ROA. So, the variables that significantly affect ROA are the ROA of the previous period, CR, and inflation. Based on the study's results, investors must choose companies with a higher ROA value compared to the ROA of the previous year. And choose a company that has a low CR value.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the symbolism and meaning of the siraman and midodareni processions in the context of social and cultural sustainability in Javanese society. This study also integrates simulated financial data to reflect the economic and social contributions of these rituals within the framework of sustainability accounting. Using a qualitative research approach with a postmodern paradigm, this study explores the dynamics of cultural meanings that have adapted to the development of the times. The data sources for this study came from in-depth interviews with informants including traditional leaders, the bride and groom's family, and Javanese cultural figures. The results of the study show three main findings: first, the symbolism and meaning of social and cultural sustainability in the siraman and midodareni processions; second, the shift in meaning and adaptation of the siraman and midodareni processions; third, the positive impact of the siraman and midodareni processions in strengthening cultural identity and social sustainability. These findings contribute to the understanding of sustainability accounting in the preservation of sustainable local cultural values, besides enriches sustainability accounting literature by demonstrating how indigenous cultural practices can be documented and analyzed through both symbolic and quantitative approaches.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex and multidimensional issue that remains a major focus in Indonesia as a developing country. Data show that the poverty rate in March 2024 reached 9.03%, exceeding the government’s target of 6.5–7.5%. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence poverty levels in Indonesia by using secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2023. The analytical method employed is Spline Nonparametric Regression, which is considered appropriate for processing social and economic data that tend to be sparse and non-stationary, such as Indonesia’s poverty data. The results of this study indicate that among the four variables analyzed, only the Mean Years of Schooling has a significant effect on the percentage of the poor population in Indonesia. Other variables, namely GDP growth at constant prices, the open unemployment rate, and life expectancy, were not proven to have a significant effect on provincial poverty levels. The best model obtained uses Spline Nonparametric Regression with two knot points, as it has the smallest GCV value compared to the one-knot and three-knot models. Therefore, the findings of this study are expected to provide input for the government in formulating more targeted poverty alleviation policies, particularly through improvements in education.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, commonly known as pesantren, which have been established for a long time, require consistent teaching patterns and must face new problems that arise in adapting, such as the current technological era, without losing the uniqueness or distinctiveness of Islamic boarding schools as their character. Islamic boarding school is a place for deeper religious learning and is believed to bring blessings to students who study religion there. This study continues two previous studies on Islamic boarding schools and multicultural education in Islamic boarding schools by focusing more on the conditions of Islamic boarding schools, which are starting to lose their uniqueness due to the adaptation of government policies, the influence of technology, and responses to the development of demands for students whose diversity changes all the time. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach to solve problems and achieve research objectives. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation and in-depth interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed by the triangulation technique. The study results indicate that Islamic boarding schools face internal and external conflicts to maintain their existence in the era of technological change. Islamic boarding schools try not to change their uniqueness but face external demands as they accommodate students from different cultures, regions, languages, and even other countries who study religion. Even Islamic boarding schools cannot adapt to government regulations in determining policies for developing Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: The main issue is the fluctuation in the number of frauds in Islamic Commercial Banks from 2019-2023. Bank implements compliance with Sharia Compliance through measuring variables and governance with a composite value of 1-3. However, the existence of these components does not necessarily reduce fraud cases in each Islamic Commercial Bank. Research Methods: The ordinal logistic regression model was chosen as the analysis technique using SPSS 23 software as an analysis tool. Results: Sharia Supervisory Board variable has a positive but insignificant effect on fraud. While the Board of Commissioners variable has a positive effect and the Profit Sharing Ratio has a significant negative effect on fraud. Then, the Board of Directors variable has a negative but insignificant effect on fraud. Furthermore, the Directors' Employees Welfare Ratio and Internal Control variables have a positive but insignificant effect on fraud. Conclusion: The hope is that Islamic Commercial Banks will reduce the potential for fraud by strengthening Islamic Corporate Governance and Sharia Compliance.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in all activities having to be carried out by implementing physical distancing or social distancing in accordance with health protocols for mutual safety. The government encourages people to do more activities at home, including shopping. Consumer perception of purchasing goods online is a process of evaluating various alternatives and choosing one alternative to purchase goods using internet media. The government appealed to the public to take advantage of online shopping to minimize the spread of Covid-19. This indicates that there are factors that influence consumer perceptions of purchasing goods online during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of perceived convenience, perceived benefits, perceived trustworthiness, and product quality on people’s purchasing decisions in Bali using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach, Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN). Based on the results of the tests carried out, the SEM-PLS model is able to produce a model with an R2 value of 72.7% with a MAPE of 337.37, an SVR model of 65.88% with a MAPE of 219.56 and a FFNN model of 97.28% with a MAPE of 90.22. Based on the resulting R2 and MAPE values, the FFNN model gives the highest results compared to other models.

Abstract

Prospective investors must do a financial ratio analysis to determine the best and most profitable investment decisions. In theory, the value of Earning Per Share (EPS), Return on Equity (ROE), and Return On Assets (ROA) increases and will increase stock prices. The identification results show that when the EPS, ROE, and ROA of consumer goods companies have increased EPS, ROE, ROA, and Stock Price, the stock prices of consumer goods companies have decreased. This shows that there needs to be more theory and data. Based on this, this study aims to examine and analyze the effect of EPS, ROE, and ROA on the stock price of Consumer Goods companies partially or simultaneously. This type of research is quantitative research using secondary data. There is also data collection using a documentation study. The data used in this study is in the form of annual reports of Consumer Goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2015-2020 period. The analytical method used is panel data regression analysis with the stages of panel data regression model estimation, panel data regression model selection, classical assumption test, and significance test; the software used is Eviews 9.0. The results of this study indicate that the EPS variable partially has a positive effect on stock prices. ROE variable partially does not affect stock prices. The ROA variable partially has a negative effect on the Stock Price. The EPS, ROE, and ROA variables simultaneously significantly affect the Stock Price. Adjusted R-squared has a value of 77.135%. This shows that EPS, ROE, and ROA in this study affect 77.135% of stock prices, while other variables outside this study influence 22.86%.
