Abstract

Micro entrepreneurship in several districts and municipalities has been growing rapidly. The progress of this micro entrepreneurship can be achieved because of the efforts of the micro entrepreneurship and the strength of the entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship needs a sustainable system so that the micro business can be stronger and more developed. The development of the micro entrepreneurship also depends on the role and the partiality of its local government which is influenced by the leadership style of the local government itself. This study is conducted to identify the impact of the leadership style of local government, to develop the characteristic and style of leadership role in local government, and to comprehend the leadership communication within the set context. The research is done by applying qualitative method with descriptive analysis in which secondary and primary data are about the micro entrepreneurship in Belitung District, Indonesia. The results show that the style of leadership gives influence to the rapid growth of a system which create partiality, commitment, consistency that showed by the sustainable regulation and policy of the local government. The style of the leadership creates the face and the character of the micro entrepreneurship of the local district which surely also determines the development of the micro entrepreneurship itself.

Abstract

A continuation research about the media used by human to communicate during PSBB period. This content of this research is about type of creative contents that can be used on social media. From the previous research, it was found that, in order to survive during pandemic and to live their daily lives, human need socializing and entertainment. Those are two important things for them. The purpose of this research is to find out types of media and digital content that are not only interesting to the respondent but also effective in conveying the communication message and can be utilize as a socialization platform. The concept of "social-media forum" which is applied to the published contents is considered different from other content in general. When the speaker invited is a person who also experiencing the same problem, audience interprets them as a friend who understand the problem and their feelings deeply, and from this angle it is hoped that the speaker and the audience can start to bond to exchange stories and opinions, not particularly about the solutions but might be just a perspective from different angle. However, doing this in virtually because of pandemic is tiring, all parties involved felt extreme fatigue after the event was over. It is because virtual meetings force human brain and body to put more focus and more alert for a long time, in the end, even casual conversation feels tiring. The samples taken for this research are located in Jakarta, focused to 20-29 years old  men and women. Data collection method is using qualitative approach with observation techniques, literature study, FGD, and interviews. When situations force us to shift into the digital and virtual realms, a recommendation for creative content format for screen-based social media is needed to be studied further, resulting in all parties involved do not have to feel an extreme fatigue but can become a useful communicator who offers solutions to others.

Abstract

Music is an art form with extraordinary power in conveying emotions and messages. Lyrics function as a medium of expression in music, through which songwriters employ creativity and linguistic play to create distinctive meanings and aesthetic appeal. The song “Paralel” by Febian Winanda demonstrates strong artistic and symbolic qualities, making it a compelling subject for academic analysis, particularly through a semiotic approach. This study aims to identify and interpret the meanings and messages embedded in the lyrics of “Paralel” as received by listeners. The research draws upon Reception Theory and popular culture theory as its theoretical framework. A qualitative research method is employed, utilizing Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic analysis to examine the relationship between signs and meanings in the song lyrics. The findings reveal that most listeners occupy a dominant position, in which they accept the song’s message in accordance with the songwriter’s intended meaning. However, some listeners adopt a negotiated position, interpreting the lyrics by adapting the meaning to their personal experiences. Furthermore, each word and phrase in the song is understood not only at a literal level but also as a signifier that refers to deeper emotional and symbolic meanings (signifieds), such as hope, distance, and unrequited love. The relationship between sign and meaning is shown to be arbitrary and contextual, shaped by the listener’s social background and lived experiences. Musik merupakan salah satu bentuk seni yang memiliki kekuatan luar biasa dalam menyampaikan emosi dan pesan. Lirik berfungsi sebagai medium ekspresi dalam musik, di mana pencipta lagu memanfaatkan kreativitasnya dalam memainkan kata-kata sehingga menghasilkan lirik yang memiliki daya tarik dan makna yang khas. Lagu “Paralel” karya Febian Winanda memiliki nilai artistik dan simbolik yang tinggi, sehingga layak untuk dikaji secara akademis, khususnya melalui pendekatan semiotika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi makna dan pesan yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu “Paralel” sebagaimana dimaknai oleh para pendengarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Reception Theory dan teori budaya populer sebagai landasan teoretis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas audiens berada pada posisi dominan, yaitu menerima pesan lagu sesuai dengan maksud penciptanya. Sementara itu, sebagian audiens berada pada posisi negosiasi, dengan menafsirkan makna lagu berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi masing-masing. Selain itu, setiap kata dan frasa dalam lagu tidak hanya dipahami secara literal, tetapi juga sebagai tanda (signifier) yang merujuk pada makna emosional atau simbolik (signified), seperti harapan, jarak, dan cinta tak berbalas. Relasi antara tanda dan makna bersifat arbitrer dan kontekstual, bergantung pada latar belakang sosial serta pengalaman pendengar.

Abstract

Increasing educational mobility has encouraged students to pursue higher education outside their regions of origin, leading to the emergence of migrant students. This condition requires adaptation to new social and cultural environments, which often results in culture shock due to differences in language, values, customs, and social interaction patterns. Based on the concepts of cultural adaptation and social support, this study aims to analyze the role of the Keluarga Pelajar Mahasiswa Indonesia Bolaang Mongondow (KPMIBM) Bandung Branch in assisting its members in coping with culture shock. This research employed a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and observations involving members of the KPMIBM Bandung Branch. The findings indicate that KPMIBM functions as a provider of social support and mentoring through peer interaction, senior guidance, and organizational activities. These roles help members reduce anxiety, overcome communication barriers, and minimize feelings of isolation during the early stages of migration. In conclusion, regional student organizations play an important role in supporting the cultural adaptation of migrant students in multicultural educational environments. Meningkatnya mobilitas pendidikan mendorong mahasiswa menempuh studi di luar daerah asal dan memunculkan fenomena mahasiswa perantau. Proses perantauan menuntut kemampuan adaptasi terhadap lingkungan sosial dan budaya baru yang sering kali menimbulkan culture shock akibat perbedaan bahasa, nilai, norma, kebiasaan, dan pola interaksi sosial. Berdasarkan konsep adaptasi budaya dan dukungan sosial, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran Organisasi Keluarga Pelajar Mahasiswa Indonesia Bolaang Mogondow (KPMIBM) Cabang Bandung dalam membantu anggotanya menghadapi culture shock. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap anggota KPMIBM Cabang Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Organisasi KPMIBM Cabang Bandung berperan sebagai wadah dukungan sosial dan pendampingan melalui interaksi antarsesama anggota, bimbingan senior, serta kegiatan organisasi. Peran tersebut membantu mahasiswa mengurangi kecemasan, mengatasi hambatan komunikasi, dan mengurangi rasa keterasingan pada masa awal perantauan. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa organisasi mahasiswa kedaerahan memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung proses adaptasi budaya mahasiswa perantau di lingkungan pendidikan multikultural.

Abstract

Inner struggles are experiences commonly faced by religious individuals when deeply held beliefs come into tension with challenging life realities. Such conditions can be understood as manifestations of cognitive dissonance, defined as psychological discomfort arising from inconsistencies between beliefs and lived experiences. In this context, religious leaders play an important role through pastoral communication as a form of spiritual and interpersonal accompaniment. This study aims to examine how pastoral communication practiced by Catholic religious leaders helps believers reduce cognitive dissonance arising from inner struggles. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with a Catholic religious leader and a believer experiencing inner conflict, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that pastoral communication emphasizing empathy, nonjudgmental acceptance, and narrative approaches creates a safe space for believers to express inner conflicts and reconstruct the meaning of their experiences. This communicative process enables believers to integrate faith with lived reality, thereby reducing inner tension. Theoretically, this study affirms the relevance of cognitive dissonance theory in the field of religious communication and highlights pastoral communication as an interpersonal communication practice that plays a significant role in empathetic and contextual spiritual accompaniment. Pergulatan batin merupakan pengalaman yang kerap dialami umat beragama ketika keyakinan iman yang diyakini berhadapan dengan realitas hidup yang penuh tekanan. Kondisi ini dapat dipahami sebagai bentuk disonansi kognitif, yaitu ketegangan psikologis akibat ketidaksesuaian antara keyakinan dan pengalaman hidup. Dalam konteks tersebut, tokoh agama memiliki peran penting melalui komunikasi pastoral sebagai bentuk pendampingan spiritual dan interpersonal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana proses komunikasi pastoral yang dilakukan oleh tokoh agama Katolik berperan dalam membantu umat mereduksi disonansi kognitif yang muncul dari pergulatan batin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan seorang tokoh agama Katolik dan seorang umat yang mengalami pergulatan batin, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi pastoral yang menekankan empati, penerimaan tanpa penghakiman, serta pendekatan naratif mampu menciptakan ruang aman bagi umat untuk mengekspresikan konflik batin dan menata ulang makna pengalaman hidup. Proses komunikasi tersebut membantu umat mengintegrasikan iman dengan realitas hidup sehingga ketegangan batin dapat direduksi. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini menegaskan relevansi teori disonansi kognitif dalam kajian komunikasi religius, serta menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi pastoral merupakan praktik komunikasi interpersonal yang berperan penting dalam pendampingan umat secara empatik dan kontekstual.

Abstract

The development of information technology and social media provides great opportunities for public relations (PR) to support government institutions in increasing transparency and building a positive image in the eyes of the public. As an important part of strategic communication, Bogor City DPRD Public Relations uses Instagram social media to establish harmonious relationships with the community. This research aims to examine the role of Public Relations of the Bogor City DPRD in building the image of the institution through the Instagram platform. The method used is descriptive qualitative with an in-depth interview approach to related sources. The research results show that the Instagram account @dprd.kotabogor is managed effectively to convey information on DPRD activities and programs transparently. This account is also used to increase public participation and strengthen the institution's positive image. As a communication liaison, Bogor City DPRD Public Relations contributes significantly in building good relationships between institutions and the community through targeted communication strategies. This research provides insight for other government institutions regarding optimizing social media as an effective means of public communication, especially in the city of Bogor. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan media sosial memberikan peluang besar bagi public relations (PR) untuk mendukung lembaga pemerintahan dalam meningkatkan transparansi dan membangun citra positif di mata publik. Sebagai bagian penting dari komunikasi strategis, Humas DPRD Kota Bogor memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram untuk menjalin hubungan yang harmonis dengan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran Humas DPRD Kota Bogor dalam membangun citra lembaga melalui platform Instagram. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan wawancara mendalam terhadap narasumber terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akun Instagram @dprd.kotabogor dikelola secara maksimal untuk menyampaikan informasi kegiatan dan program DPRD secara transparan. Akun ini juga digunakan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi publik dan memperkuat citra positif lembaga. Sebagai penghubung komunikasi, Humas DPRD Kota Bogor berkontribusi signifikan dalam membangun hubungan yang baik antara lembaga dan masyarakat melalui strategi komunikasi yang terarah. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan bagi lembaga pemerintahan lainnya mengenai optimalisasi media sosial sebagai sarana komunikasi publik yang optimal, khususnya di Kota Bogor.

Abstract

Lapinea Cafe is a business brand under PT. Jala Senandung Bahagia located in Cikole, Bandung. This research aims to analyze the use of Instagram social media in building consumer trust at Lapinea Cafe. Digital Marketing staff acts as a PR technique of communication and responsible for managing the @lapineacafe Instagram account by uploading informative and persuasive content and building good relationship to build consumer trust. This research uses two-way communication theory according to Laswell, PR strategy theory according to Cutlip including fact finding, planning, action, and evaluating and thhe concept of social media utilization according to Kaplan and Heinlein including collaborative projects, social networking sites, and content. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methhod with a case study approach. Data was obtained through observation, interviews with the Director, Digital Marketing, and consumers of Lapinea Cafe. Thhe results showed that Instagram became the main communication media in building consumer trust. The strategies implemented include utilizing Instagram features to create two-way communication. This proved optimal in building brand credibility, as expressed by consumers who felt confident to visit after seeing content on Instagram. Lapinea Cafe adalah merek usaha di bawah naungan PT. Jala Senandung Bahagia yang berlokasi di Cikole, Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan media sosial Instagram dalam membangun kepercayaan konsumen di Lapinea Cafe. Meskipun tidak memiliki divisi khusus PR, staf Digital Marketing berperan sebagai PR technique of communication yang bertanggung jawab dalam mengelola akun Instagram @lapineacafe dengan mengunggah konten informatif dan persuasif dan menjalin hubungan yang baik untuk membangun kepercayaan konsumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi dua arah menurut Laswell, teori strategi PR menurut Cutlip meliputi fact finding, planning & programming, action, dan evaluating dan konsep pemanfaatan media sosial menurut Kaplan dan Heinlein meliputi collaborative project, social networking sites, dan content. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dengan Direktur, Digital Marketing dan konsumen Lapinea Cafe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram menjadi media komunikasi utama dalam membangun kepercayaan konsumen. Strategi yang diterapkan mencakup pemanfaatan fitur Instagram dan menciptakan komunikasi dua arah. Hal ini terbukti optimal dalam membangun kredibilitas merek, sebagaimana diungkapkan oleh konsumen yang merasa yakin untuk berkunjung setelah melihat konten di Instagram.

Abstract

The rise of social media, especially TikTok, has transformed how audiences receive information and evaluate influencer credibility. This study examines how Generation Z perceives Tasya Farasya’s credibility as a beauty influencer in promoting Somethinc products, and how these perceptions affect their view of the brand. The research is grounded in Source Credibility Theory, which includes expertise, trustworthiness, and communicator attractiveness. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with six Generation Z informants who had watched Tasya’s Somethinc product reviews on TikTok. The findings show that Generation Z views Tasya as competent, authentic, and persuasive in her delivery, leading them to consider her content credible. This credibility influences how they perceive Somethinc as a transparent, informative, and trustworthy brand. TikTok’s short video format, strong visual appeal, and algorithmic support further enhance message reception. Overall, the study confirms that influencer credibility plays a strategic role in shaping brand perception among Generation Z. Perkembangan media sosial, khususnya TikTok, telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam cara audiens menerima informasi serta membentuk penilaian mereka terhadap kredibilitas seorang konten kreator. Penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana Generasi Z memaknai kredibilitas Tasya Farasya sebagai konten kreator kecantikan dalam mempromosikan produk Somethinc, serta bagaimana persepsi tersebut memengaruhi pandangan mereka terhadap merek. Studi ini mengacu pada Teori Kredibilitas Sumber yang menekankan tiga aspek utama, yakni keahlian, kejujuran, dan daya tarik komunikator. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam dengan enam informan Generasi Z yang pernah menonton ulasan Tasya mengenai produk Somethinc di TikTok. Temuan penelitian mengungkap bahwa Generasi Z memandang Tasya sebagai figur yang memiliki kompetensi, keaslian, dan daya tarik penyampaian, sehingga kontennya dinilai kredibel. Kredibilitas tersebut kemudian memengaruhi cara informan menilai kualitas serta citra Somethinc, yang mereka anggap sebagai merek yang transparan, informatif, dan layak dipercaya. Selain itu, karakteristik TikTok yang menonjolkan video singkat, elemen visual yang kuat, serta dukungan algoritma FYP turut memperkuat penerimaan pesan yang disampaikan Tasya. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kredibilitas seorang konten kreator memainkan peran strategis dalam membangun persepsi merek di kalangan Generasi Z.

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of moral messages in the film “Thunderbolts” using Roland Barthes’ semiotic framework, which includes denotation, connotation, and myth. The research focuses on six key scenes featuring Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, and Sentry. These characters are portrayed as complex antiheroes who carry emotional burdens and moral dilemmas that shape the film’s ethical narrative. A qualitative descriptive method is used, with data collected through repeated observation and documentation of visual and verbal signs. The findings show that moral messages in the film are not delivered explicitly but emerge through gestures, expressions, atmosphere, and interpersonal interactions. Denotatively, the scenes depict conflict and vulnerability, connotatively, they reveal themes of trauma, self-awareness, empathy, and restraint. At the myth level, the film constructs the idea that moral growth is a nonlinear journey shaped by personal struggle. This study contributes to understanding how contemporary superhero films articulate moral complexity through antihero figures. Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi pesan moral dalam film “Thunderbolts” dengan menggunakan model semiotika Roland Barthes, yang mencakup tataran denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Analisis difokuskan pada enam adegan kunci yang melibatkan Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, dan Sentry sebagai tokoh anti pahlawan dengan beban emosional serta dilema moral. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi berulang dan dokumentasi terhadap tanda visual maupun verbal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pesan moral tidak disampaikan secara langsung, tetapi dibangun melalui ekspresi, gestur, dinamika suasana, serta interaksi antar tokoh. Pada level denotasi, adegan memperlihatkan konflik dan kerentanan. Pada level konotasi muncul tema trauma, kesadaran diri, empati, dan pengendalian diri. Sedangkan pada level mitos, film menegaskan bahwa proses perubahan moral bersifat panjang, tidak linear, dan dipengaruhi pergulatan pribadi. Penelitian ini memperkaya pemahaman mengenai bagaimana film pahlawan super modern menampilkan kompleksitas moral melalui figur anti pahlawan.
