Abstract

This research is focusing on the efford to enhance students’s understanding, especially for those who have not complete the minimum mark attainment, through peer teaching remedial learning  at 12th Natural Science 3 class, academic year 2018/2019. This is an action class research. Data in this research are qualitative dan quantitative. Qualitative data were gained throughobservation towards students’s activities during peer theaching remedial learning process and through interview. While quantitative data were gathered from daily score and from the test after treatment finishing. The result of the research showed that there is an improvement of students’s understanding through the peer teaching activity. It is showed by the higher percentage of students’s who could reach the minimum score attainment in one basic competence, and it was revealed that students were more active and enthusiastic to ask questions and explanations to their while the remedial teaching took place.

Abstract

This article discusses the differences in students' mathematical problem solving skills based on their level of mathematical anxiety, and the effect of mathematical anxiety on their mathematical problem solving skills. The instruments used in this study were mathematics anxiety questionnaires and mathematics problem solving ability tests. The data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA. The results of this study shows that: there are differences in students' mathematical problem solving skills at the anxiety level of the low, medium and high categories; and there is a negative influence of mathematics anxiety on the ability to solve mathematical problems with an influence value of 86.3%.

Abstract

Self efficacy is a basic belief in learning, especially learning mathematics, because self efficacy can have a strong effect that can show students' self-confidence, when students have a high self-efficacy category, students can solve problems in learning mathematics well. This study aims to analyze the self efficacy of students in learning mathematics with the Search, Solve, Create, Share (SSCS) learning model. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The subjects in the study were students of class VIII SMPN 8 Bukittinggi and a sample of 30 people. The instrument used is a self efficacy questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistical analysis using the percentage of degrees of achievement. The results of the study were obtained that the self efficacy of students with the learning model given search, solve, create share there were 8 students in the high category, 21 students in the high enough category, and 1 student in the medium category. While overall the degree of achievement of students' self efficacy is in the high enough category. Where for each dimension of students' self efficacy is also in the high enough category.
