Abstract

Chemical handing merupakan langkah upaya pencegahan terhadap bahaya yang ditimbulkan dari zat kimia. Industri petrokimia sebagai industri yang bergerak dalam pengolahan bahan kimia sangat diperlukan upaya pencegahan tersebut, maka kesesuaian setiap langah dalam prosedur perlu diterapkan agar proses produksi berjalan dengan aman dan terhindar dari kecelakaan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelengkapan dan kesesuaian penerapan chemical handling yang dilakukan di PT Pupuk Kaltim dengan kesesuaian peraturan yang berlaku. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasi deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah operatir di setiap unit area produksi yang meliputi unit amoniak, urea dan utility. Sumber data diperoleh dari pengamatan di lapangan dan wawancara langsung kepada operator yang bertugas. Variabel yang diteliti adalah dari karakteristik bahan kimia yang digunakan di area produksi, aspek pictogram Globally Harmonized Sistem (GHS), kompatibilitas bahan kimia, tata letak penyimpanan bahan kimia. Hasil dari penerapan chemical handling telah berjalan dengan baik, namun dalam tahapan penyimpanan tata letak bahan kimia masih ditemukan bahan kimia yang seharusnya tidak boleh dilakukan penyimpanan di satu tempat yang sama. Saran untuk PT Pupuk Kaltim perlu dilakukan pembuatan tabel kompatibilitas bahan kimia beserta langkah antisipasinya dan ditempel di setiap chemical shelter atau tempat penyimpanan bahan kimia sebagai informasi sifat bahan kimia yang disimpan di tempat tersebut, agar para operator yang bekerja dapat mengetahui penanganan yang sesuai dengan bahan kimia tersebut.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Effects heat stress on physiological responses can be seen on increase body temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure (systole and diastole) and also weight loss. The aim of this study is to analyze the physiological responses of workers exposed to heat in confined space heater PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia. This was an observational study with cross-sectional design. The sample was all of population (10 workers). Data was collected by measuring heat stress (WBGT), physiological responses before and after working and also questionnaire of individual factors. The result of heat stress measurement show that average of WBGT is above the Threeshold Limit Value (34,9OC) with the workload of the workers was in the heavy category (461,94 ccal) and work time category 0-25%. The result showed that the average body themperature before working was 36,73oC and after working was 38,13oC. The average pulse rate before working was 90,85 beats per minute and after working was 96,1 beats per minutes. The average systolic and diastolic blood pressure before working was 124,85 mmHg and 72,05 mmHg and the average after working was 126,05 mmHg and 72,45 mmHg. On the other hand, the average weight before working was 59,58 kg and after working was 58,3 kg. Hence, there were difference on the result of body temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure and weight before and after working in CS heater.Keyword:   Heat stress, physiological response, confined spaceABSTRAKEfek dari iklim kerja panas pada respon fisiologis tenaga kerja dapat dilihat pada peningkatan suhu tubuh, denyut nadi, tekanan darah (sistolik dan diastolik) dan juga penurunan berat badan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis respon fisiologis tenaga kerja akibat iklim kerja panas di confined space heater PT. Nippon Shokubai Indonesia. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan desain cross-sectional. Besar sampel adalah keseluruhan populasi yaitu 10 orang. Data didapatkan dari pengukuran mengukur iklim kerja panas (ISBB), respon fisiologis sebelum dan sesudah bekerja dan juga kuesioner faktor individu. Hasil pengukuran iklim kerja panas menunjukkan bahwa rerata nilai ISBB sebesar 34,9OC sehingga telah melebihi Nilai Ambang Batas dengan beban kerja berat yaitu 461,94 kkal dan kategori waktu kerja 0-25%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rerata suhu tubuh sebelum bekerja adalah 36,73oC dan sesudah bekerja adalah 38,13oC. Rerata denyut nadi sebelum bekerja adalah 90,85 denyut per menit dan sesudah bekerja adalah 96,1 denyut per menit. Kemudian rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik sebelum bekerja adalah 124,85 mmHg dan 72,05 mmHg, dan rerata sesudah bekerja adalah 126,06 mmHg dan 72,45 mmHg. Selain itu rerata berat badan sebelum bekerja adalah 59,85 kg dan sesudah bekerja adalah 58,3 kg. Oleh karena itu, terdapat perbedaan antara suhu tubuh, denyut nadi, tekanan darah (sistolik dan diastolik) dan berat badan sebelum dan sesudah bekerja di CS heater.Kata kunci : Iklim kerja panas, respon fisiologis, ruang terbatas

Abstract

Introduction: The implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety system in industry aims to create a workplace that is safe, healthy, and free from environmental pollution so that it minimizes the probability of occupational accidents and illness. The arrangement of goods and comfortable work environment can affect labour productivity. Creating an orderly and comfortable working environment can be manifested in a good Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize (5S) application. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the 5S program in PT Albea Rigid and Packaging Surabaya. Method: This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The data used in this study were secondary data which were obtained from the EHS Department of PT. Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya which were later analyzed using several theoretical references. Variables in this research were observation of Sort, observation of Set, observation of Shine, observation of Standardize and observation of Sustain. The analyzed data were further interpreted and presented in a narrative form. Results: The results show that the implementation of 5S in the Injection Molding Production area of PT. Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya, before the socialization, had a score of 16 points and after the socialization it increased to 40 points. Even though the score has increased, the implementation of the 5S was still not running optimally. Conclusion: The principle of Standardize still had the same score before and after the socialization, while for the other 3 principles, namely Sort, Set and Shine, there was an increase in points after the socialization.

Abstract

Introduction: The growth of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has continued to increase which might have the effect of reducing the productivity levels in the industrial sector. The Ministry of Manpower has called on every company to establish health protocols related to preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in the workplace. The purpose of this study was to describe the compliance with the existing health protocols at PT Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya. Methods: The population in this study was the workers in the production section and the sample was selected using the simple random sampling technique. The variables in this study were physical distancing, hand-washing-with-soap behavior, temperature checking, sunbathing, and the usage of surgical masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and face shields. The data collection was carried out using an observation form checklist. Result: PT Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya has referenced the letter circulated by the Office of Manpower and Transmigration of East Java Province and Regulation of the Mayor of Surabaya No. 28 of 2020 concerning the Guidelines for the New Normal Order of COVID-19. The health protocols implemented at PT Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya included the implementation of physical distancing, hand-washing-with-soap behavior, temperature checking, sunbathing, and the usage of surgical masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and face shields. Health protocol temperature checking already has a 100% compliance rate in all departments but for the sunbathing protocol, the compliance is still at 0% in all departments. Conclusion: The compliance of workers in the production section of PT Albea Rigid Packaging Surabaya with the health protocol is still not running optimally.

Abstract

Introduction: Fires in the workplace can have consequences that adversely affect many parties, both for companies of the workers and the wider community, including institutions such as hospitals. In this research, hospitals are considered to be at high risk of causing fatalities in the event of a fire. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the prevention and control of fire in dr. R. Koesma Hospital Tuban based on the regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016 about Occupational Health and Safety of Hospital. Method: This research is observational research. Data collection was done by interview and observation. The assessment of the evaluation of fire prevention and control is done by using a scoring formula made independently. Result: The evaluation is done on the identification of fire and explosion risk areas as well as on the mapping of high-risk areas of fire and explosion in dr. R. Koesma Hospital based on regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016. The evaluation results on both aspects are 4% out of 6%. The evaluation result of the risk reduction of fire and explosion hazards shows a score of 15% out of 18%. The evaluation result of fire control is 22%. The evaluation result of the fire simulation shows a score of 38% out of 48%. Conclusion: This research concludes that the evaluation results of the fire prevention and control system in dr. R. Koesma Hospital based on regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016 show a score of 83%.

Abstract

Salah satu dari faktor fisik yang dapat mengganggu jalannya pekerjaan adalah pencahayaan. Pencahayaan yang sesuai sangat penting untuk peningkatan kualitas dan produktivitas. Kurangnya pencahayaan dapat memicu ketidaknyamanan pada saat bekerja sehingga berisiko menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan, kecelakaan kerja dan penurunan dalam produktivitas kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis intensitas pencahayaan pada area machining berdasarkan standar pencahayaan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional karena pengumpulan data penelitian hanya dilakukan dalam satu periode waktu tertentu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada periode Oktober 2022 di salah satu perusahaan konstruksi yang terletak di Karang Pilang, Surabaya, Jawa Timur, Indonesia tepatnya di area kerja machining.  Intensitas pencahayaan ini diukur menggunakan Lux meter yang diakses menggunakan smartphone dengan 2 macam titik pengukuran yaitu pengukuran pencahayaan lokal/setempat dan pengukuran pencahayaan umum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengukuran intensitas pencahayaan sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Ketenagakerjaan Republik Indonesia No. 5 Tahun 2018 tentang Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja Lingkungan Kerja, hasil pengukuran lokal/setempat sebanyak 3 mesin yang tidak memenuhi standar yaitu area kerja machining pada mesin 1 (188,3 Lux), mesin 2 (166,6 Lux) dan mesin 6 (188,3 Lux) sedangkan hasil pengukuran yang memenuhi standar pada mesin 3 (487,6 Lux), mesin 4 (495 Lux), mesin 5 (591 Lux). Pada pengukuran pencahayaan umum telah memenuhi standar yaitu >200 Lux dengan hasil pengukuran 207 Lux. Terdapat perbedaan intensitas pencahayaan pada area kerja machining disetiap mesin yang intensitas pencahayaannya tidak memenuhi syarat <200 Lux dan area kerja machining yang intensitas pencahayaannya memenuhi syarat ≥200 Lux. Sebaiknya penerapan hierarchy of control secara berkelanjutan dapat dilakukan untuk mengontrol tempat pekerja bagian machining yang ada di salah satu perusahaan konstruksi yang terletak di Karang Pilang Surabaya agar pekerja dapat terjamin kesehatan dan kebugarannya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The rapid development of the asphalt industry forces asphalt industry companies to continuously develop and innovate. Companies that are able to develop and innovate will certainly always increase their advantage in competition in the industrial world. This can be achieved if the company has a quality product. In improving product quality, there are potential hazards in the workplace such as incidents. This study aims to identify the prediction of incident events in the production area of drum fabrication, filling points, and distribution of PT X in the gresik bitument plant environment in 2023. This research is a cross-sectional research based on the time of study. The completion time of this research is 3 months. Data analysis techniques in this study start from hazard identification, potential hazard assessment, and hazard control. In the production process of making ready drums to the asphalt loading process in drums in the distribution there is a near miss that can cause incidents in every production machine. The most incidents are the occurrence of being scratched by sheets, stuck to pinched in the distribution load area for workers. In addition, there is also a high engine sound that causes noise and chemical factors in painting booth machines and filling in drums can cause interference with the respiratory system in the long run. There is a prediction of the occurrence of incidents in every production machine. The most incidents are the occurrence of sheet scratches on workers, mired in sandwiches between drums in the distribution loading area for workers. It is necessary to improve the implementation of the Risk Control Hierarchy, starting from Elimination, Substitution, Design/Modification, Administration and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Keywords: Hazard, Risk, Incident, Control     ABSTRAK Pesatnya perkembangan industry aspal memaksa perusahaan industry aspal untuk terus menerus dalam berkembang dan berinovasi. Perusahaan yang mampu berkembang dan berinovasi tentunya akan senantiasa meningkatkan keunggulan dalam persaingan di dunia industri. Hal ini dapat dicapai apabila perusahaan memiliki produk yang berkualitas. Dalam meningkatkan kualitas produk terdapat potensi bahaya di tempat kerja seperti kejadian incident. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi prediksi kejadian incident pada area produksi fabrikasi drum, filling point, dan distribusi  PT X di lingkungan bitument plant gresik tahun 2023. Penelitian ini bersifat cross sectional dilihat berdasarkan waktu penelitian. Waktu penyelesaian penelitian ini 3 bulan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dimulai dari identifikasi bahaya, penilaian potensi bahaya, dan pengendalian bahaya. Pada proses produksi pembuatan ready drum hingga proses muat aspal in drum di distribusi terdapat near miss yang mampu mengakibatkan incident di setiap mesin produksi. Incident terbanyak yaitu kejadian tergores oleh sheet, kejeglong hingga terjepit di area muat distribusi pada pekerja. Selain itu juga terdapat suara mesin yang tinggi hingga menyebabkan kebisingan dan faktor kimia pada mesin painting booth dan filling in drum dapat mengakibatkan gangguan pada system pernafasan dalam jangka panjang. terdapat prediksi terjadinya incident di setiap mesin produksi. Incident terbanyak yaitu kejadian tergores sheet pada pekerja, terperosok hingga terjepit pada sela sela drum di area muat distribusi pada pekerja. Perlunya ditingkatkan penerapan Hierarki Pengendalian Risiko yaitu mulai dari Eliminasi, Substitusi, Perancangan/Modifikasi, Administrasi dan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD). Kata Kunci: Bahaya, Risiko, Incident, Pengendalian.

Abstract

Work weariness is a pattern that develops in a scenario and often happens when everyone who has acted is able to resume their actions. This study's goal was to ascertain the impact of repetitive labor and mental strain on worker tiredness at PT. Rabanton Maju Joyo Abadi Banyuwangi. This research uses a cross-sectional study design and is an observational analytical study. The sample size in the study was as many as 35 concrete production workers at PT. Rabanton Maju Joyo Abadi Banyuwangi. The variables studied are individual characteristics, mental workload and monotonous work. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires and interviews to workers. The data is presented in tabular format, and Chi-Square statistical analysis is used to analyze it using non-parametric statistical tests. According to the study's findings, characteristics such as age (p = 0.040), mental effort (p = 0.027), and monotonous job (p = 0.036) showed a significant association with work tiredness, however factors such as working duration (p = 0.211) and nutritional state (p = 0.187) did not. Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that characteristics such as age, mental burden, and monotony have a significant association with job tiredness, however factors such as working conditions and nutritional status do not. It is better to have socialization about work fatigue during safety talk and medical check-ups regularly.

Abstract

The majority of waste produced by residents in the Balongsari Subdistrict is organic waste from household activities. The waste problem becomes more complex if public awareness about the importance of waste management remains low. To address this, Balongsari Subdistrict authorities and officials RW 4, 5, and 6, along with the community service team, agreed to conduct a waste management socialization activity using the Takakura method, targeting the PKK Mobilization Team. This activity aims to increase community knowledge and skills in managing kitchen waste, revive the community's enthusiasm for composting waste, and reduce waste volume. The method used is a participatory approach involving socialization, education, demonstrations, and hands-on practice with residents to create compost using the Takakura method. The results show that this community service activity improved residents' awareness and skills in converting household waste into compost. The increased active participation of 26 participants and the commitment of 85% of participants to implement the Takakura method at home demonstrate the success of this activity. The Takakura method offers an effective solution for reducing organic waste volume and producing high-quality compost. This practical introduction hopes to encourage more efficient and environmentally friendly waste management practices at the household level.
