Abstract

Ideally, textbooks used in the learning process at vocational schools should serve as a bridge between theory and practice in the field. However, in reality, the textbooks available at SMK Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang still need improvement. This study aims to determine the validity of the competency-based architecture textbooks that have been developed to support learning in the DPIB Specialization at SMK Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang. This research is R&D research using the ADDIE development model, but this research only confirms the Development stage (validation of the development product). The validation process was carried out by media experts and subject matter experts using a Likert scale-based questionnaire covering aspects of appearance, language, content, and presentation. The data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively by calculating the total score and determining the level of feasibility. The validation results showed that the textbook obtained a very high level of validity, with a percentage of 98.5% in the learning media aspect and 97% in the learning material aspect. Thus, the average validation results showed that the developed textbook was in the highly valid category, which means that it met the feasibility criteria in terms of content and learning media, making it suitable for use as a learning resource in learning activities at vocational schools.

Abstract

The low level of students' higher-order thinking skills in chemistry learning, particularly acid-base material, indicates the need for innovative, contextual and meaningful teaching materials. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a chemistry teaching module based on local fermentation wisdom in improving students' Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The study used a Research and Development approach with a four-stage model, focusing on the development stage. The module's effectiveness was tested through a quasi-experimental design with a single pretest and posttest group involving eleventh-grade students. Data were collected using a HOTS test based on the local fermentation context and an observation sheet of learning implementation, then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that the developed module was classified as very practical and easy to implement in learning. This module was also effective in improving students' HOTS, with the most prominent improvements in analytical and evaluation skills, as well as significant improvements in creative abilities. These findings indicate that the local fermentation wisdom-based module can be an alternative contextual teaching material to support students' HOTS development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of an electronic student worksheet based on the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning model in improving students learning outcomes on chemical calculation material at an Islamic senior high school. The research applied a quasi experimental approach using a one group design. The participants were students from a science class who learned through an electronic worksheet developed according to the stages of orientation exploration concept invention and application. The learning process emphasized active inquiry collaboration and guided knowledge construction supported by digital media. Data on student learning outcomes were collected through achievement tests. The results indicate a meaningful improvement in students learning outcomes after using the electronic worksheet. This finding shows that the POGIL based electronic worksheet has a strong influence on enhancing students conceptual understanding and problem solving skills. In addition the electronic worksheet facilitates active and collaborative learning while integrating technology into chemistry instruction. The learning materials also incorporate Qur’anic values that support character building alongside scientific understanding. Overall the findings confirm that electronic student worksheets based on Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning are effective instructional tools for improving chemistry learning outcomes and supporting holistic student development in digital learning environments.

Abstract

This study analyzes the pedagogical competence profile of teachers in Daik Lingga Regency, an archipelago region in Indonesia, to inform contextual professional development. Using a sequential explanatory mixed-method design, it first quantitatively analyzed Training Needs Assessment (TNA) data from 804 educators against the national Teacher Competency Model (2023). Results indicate that overall pedagogical competence ranges from Level 3 (Evaluating) to Level 4 (Proficient). However, a critical disparity was found: competence in “Adaptive use of ICT” (sub-indicator 1.2.5) scored lowest (mean 2.980, Level 3), identifying it as a top training priority. In contrast, “Creating a safe and comfortable learning environment” (sub-indicator 1.1.3) scored highest (mean 3.420, Level 4). The low ICT score empirically validates contextual challenges related to infrastructure and connectivity in this island region. This quantitative finding triggers the subsequent qualitative phase to explore the underlying hindering factors. The study concludes that data-driven policy is crucial, recommending targeted professional development focused on adaptive digital skills to address the specific gaps and improve educational quality in Indonesia’s outermost regions.
