Abstract

This study investigates the effect of a combination of manure and mycorrhiza on the quality and storability of tomatoes from the perspective of organic farmers in Lembang, utilizing a quantitative analysis with 140 samples. Data were collected using a Likert scale (1-5), and the analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that manure positively impacts fruit quality and storability, with a stronger effect on storability. Mycorrhiza had a more significant effect on fruit quality and also positively influenced storability. The study found that mycorrhiza is the more dominant factor in improving fruit quality, while manure plays a more significant role in enhancing storability. The findings provide important insights for organic farming practices in Lembang, suggesting that a combination of manure and mycorrhiza can effectively enhance both the quality and shelf life of tomatoes.

Abstract

This study explores the role of mycelium-based biomaterials in promoting environmentally friendly packaging and product design in Indonesia. Using a qualitative methodology, data were gathered through interviews with three key informants: a material scientist, a packaging industry expert, and a sustainable design entrepreneur. Thematic analysis conducted with NVIVO software revealed four major findings: (1) the environmental benefits of mycelium, including biodegradability and low energy production requirements; (2) challenges such as scalability, high costs, and limited awareness; (3) diverse applications in packaging and product design, including luxury markets; and (4) the critical role of government policy and stakeholder collaboration in driving adoption. These findings highlight the potential of mycelium-based biomaterials to contribute to Indonesia's sustainability goals by reducing plastic waste and fostering innovative eco-friendly solutions. However, addressing scalability and cost issues requires policy interventions and cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

This study examines biodiversity-based land management strategies as a sustainable solution to urban food security challenges in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and the Penta Helix model, data from five informants representing academia, government, private sector, community, and media were analyzed. Findings highlight the significant contributions of each stakeholder in promoting biodiversity, from academic research and innovative policies to community-driven urban farming initiatives and media advocacy. Synergies among stakeholders were evident, but challenges such as resource constraints, policy fragmentation, and cultural resistance persist. Case studies from local and global contexts underline the transformative potential of integrating biodiversity into urban planning. The study concludes that biodiversity-based strategies, supported by collaborative governance, are essential for achieving sustainable and food-secure urban environments in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This study reviews the impact of nutritional composition on the growth of kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) in hydroponic systems, synthesizing findings from 15 Scopus-indexed studies. The analysis highlights the critical roles of macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and micronutrients (iron, magnesium, zinc) in optimizing plant growth, yield, and quality. Additionally, it examines the importance of nutrient solution management, including pH, electrical conductivity, and nutrient concentration, for efficient nutrient uptake. Innovative practices such as organic additives and advanced monitoring systems are also discussed for their potential to enhance productivity and sustainability. The review identifies gaps in existing research, particularly in standardizing nutrient formulations and assessing the long-term impact on nutritional quality. These findings provide actionable insights for researchers and practitioners aiming to advance hydroponic kale cultivation.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Business Intelligence (BI) in supporting strategic decision-making within digital retail companies in Indonesia. In an increasingly competitive digital retail environment, BI enables managers to transform raw data into actionable insights for informed decision-making. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with five informants, including managers and decision-makers from various digital retail companies. The findings reveal that BI enhances decision quality, provides operational efficiency, and supports proactive strategies by offering accurate, real-time information on customer behavior, market trends, and business performance. However, challenges such as system complexity, data integration issues, and limited analytical skills pose barriers to effective BI utilization. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of BI implementation in the Indonesian digital retail sector and offers practical insights for managers aiming to leverage BI for strategic advantage.
