Using a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design, 20 underweight toddlers from Dharma Wanita Persatuan Gebang Kindergarten and TPA Al Ma’arif Sidoarjo were given 2.5 grams of curcuma mixed with water daily for two weeks. Body weight was measured before and after the intervention. The Paired Simple T-Test analysis showed a significant increase in body weight (p = 0.000). These results suggest that curcuma is an effective intervention for increasing body weight in underweight toddlers. Highlight: Administered curcuma to 20 underweight toddlers for two weeks. Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of media and peers on premarital sexual behavior among adolescents in both urban and rural areas. The research was conducted at Hizbul Wathan Kwarda Sidoarjo using a cross-sectional method. The study population consisted of 90 individuals who were members of Hizbul Wathan Scouts, and purposive sampling was employed for participant selection. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The findings revealed that the majority of participants (68 out of 90) had no exposure to media, and a significant proportion (63.3%) reported positive peer influence. Statistical analysis using Fisher's Exact test indicated that the influence of media on premarital sexual behavior was not significant (p-value = 0.219 > 0.05), whereas peer influence was found to be significantly associated with premarital sexual behavior (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). These results suggest that while media exposure may not play a substantial role, peers exert a significant influence on premarital sexual behavior among Hizbul Wathan members. This study contributes to the understanding of factors shaping adolescent sexual behavior and highlights the importance of addressing peer influences in interventions aimed at reducing risky sexual behaviors among young individuals. Highlights: Media Influence: The study found no significant influence of media on premarital sex behavior among adolescents. Peer Influence: Positive peer influence was found to have a significant impact on premarital sexual behavior among adolescents. Cross-sectional Study: The research employed a cross-sectional method to investigate the relationship between media, peers, and premarital sex behavior among adolescents. Keywords: premarital sex, adolescents, media influence, peer influence, cross-sectional study

Abstract

The high birth rate is still a major problem in Indonesia’s population which until now has not been able to be overcome. Injectable contraception is a way to prevent pregnancy through hormonal injections. There are 2 types of injectable birth control, namely 1-month injection and 3-month injection. Weight gain is the highest side effect of injecting contraception which is the body's adjustment to hormonal changes so that the possibility of weight gain occurring does not last long. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in weight gain in 1-month and 3-month injection contraceptive acceptors at the Delta Mutiara Maternity Clinic. The method used quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional design and this research used a quota sampling technique, data processing was carried out in 2 ways, univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of each variable and bivariate analysis using an Independent T Test with an error rate of 5% (0.05). The results showed that the significant value for 1-month injection contraceptive acceptors was p=0.004 (p=>0.05) and 3-month injection contraceptive acceptors obtained a significant value of p=0.000 (p>0.05). There was a significant difference in weight gain in 1-month and 3-month injection contraceptive acceptors at the Delta Mutiara Maternity Clinic.

One of the components that influence gross motor development problems is nutritional status. The research method is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design. The population and sample are all children aged 3-5 years who are present at the posyandu in Ketimang Wonoayu as many as 31 toddlers with a sampling technique using total sampling in November 2022. Process data using univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square statistical test. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.006 <α (0.05), showing that there is a significant relationship between gross motor development and nutritional status for toddlers. The development of gross motor skills in toddlers in terms of nutritional status has an influence, so it is important for parents to pay attention to the nutritional status, especially at the age of five.

After going through the selection process, 30 articles were studied in depth, and a total of 12 articles met all the inclusion criteria for adolescents aged 10-19 years as the main participants and were published within the period 2018-2023. Articles that do not meet the criteria, such as editorials, opinions, non-scientific reviews, and studies that do not explicitly list MBT outcomes or interventions, are excluded from the final analysis. The results of the synthesis show that Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT) consistently has a positive impact in reducing symptoms of depression in adolescents Conclusion: MBT is a promising and adaptive intervention for holistically addressing adolescent depression. Abstract

General Background: Early marriage remains a significant public health and social issue, often occurring before individuals reach the legal minimum age. Specific Background: Internal determinants, particularly knowledge, individual education, and parental education, have been cited as factors influencing early marriage, yet empirical evidence is still inconsistent. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies in Indonesia have explored which internal factors have the strongest association with early marriage practices. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between internal factors and early marriage in Curahkalong village, Jember district. Results: A cross-sectional analytic study was conducted with 38 married women selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Chi-square test at a significance level of α < 0.05. Findings showed a significant relationship between parental education and early marriage (p = 0.003), while no significant relationship was found for individual knowledge (p = 1.000) or respondent education (p = 0.180). Novelty: This research highlights parental education as the primary internal factor related to early marriage, while individual knowledge and education were not significant predictors. Implications: The findings suggest that parental involvement and educational background are critical in preventing early marriage, emphasizing the need for family-based reproductive health education programs. Highlights: Parental education strongly correlates with early marriage. Individual knowledge shows no significant association. Family-based interventions are essential for prevention. It is commonly managed through pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Specific background: High school students frequently experience dysmenorrhea, which can interfere with their school performance and well-being. Various non-pharmacological methods, such as herbal remedies and thermal therapies, have been proposed to alleviate symptoms. Knowledge gap: Despite the prevalence of dysmenorrhea, limited research focuses on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions among high school students in Indonesia. Aims: This study aims to describe the severity of dysmenorrhea and the methods of pharmacological and non-pharmacological management among female students of SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Gedangan. Results: This quantitative descriptive study, involving 46 tenth-grade students, revealed that 67.4% of respondents experienced mild dysmenorrhea. Among non-pharmacological treatments, 69.6% consumed turmeric herbal remedies, 15.2% used warm compresses, and 10.9% applied warming lotions. Novelty: The study highlights that all non-pharmacological methods effectively reduced the severity of dysmenorrhea among the students, with turmeric herbal remedies being the most popular choice.
