Abstract

This paper explains the way or method in understanding hadith. Hadith is the second Muslims guidance after the Qur?an. In it capacity, believed that hadith is answers of society problems. But hadith is the remaining text, however, the problems that occur in society are continuing to develop. So it is not uncommon to find the hadith text that appears to contradict current conditions. To face this problem, it necessary to formulate new methods and approaches to understand the hadith. One of them is the contextual understanding method. Through this method hadith can be understood properly and correctly based on the needs and current condition. Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan meneliti praktik serta pemaknaan dari pembacaan Zikir Nihadul Mustagfirin di Yayasan Miftahurrahman Mindahan Kidul Batealit Jepara dalam perspektif living hadis. Penulis menggunakan metode dan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pisau analisis teori sosial Karl Mannheim mengenai tindakan manusia dibentuk oleh dua dimensi, yakni perilaku (behavior) dan makna (meaning). Karl Mannheim menawarkan dan membedakan antara tiga macam makna yang terdapat dalam tindakan sosial, yakni: makna objektif, makna ekspresif dan makna documenter. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa 1) Zikir ini merupakan perilaku yang dilakukan sebagai bentuk pemahaman terhadap hadis Nabi dan memiliki makna. 2) Makna dari Zikir Nihadul Mustagfirin berdasarkan pada teori sosiologi pengetahuan Karl Mannheim adalah Pertama, makna objektif dzikir tersebut merupakan bentuk kepatuhan terhadap kyai yang Kedua, Makna ekspresif bahwa zikir tersebut bertujuan untuk media doa dalam memperlancar hajat, mendekatkan diri kepada Allah, penenang jiwa, ilmu, silaturrahim dan menghindari hal yang tidak bermanfaat. Ketiga, makna dokumenter yakni ZikirNihadul Mustagfirin secara sadar atau tidak sadar merupakan bentuk rutinitas dari masyarakat Yayasan Miftahurrahman.

Abstract

The study of hadith as a source of Islamic teachings after the Qur’an is an important part of Islamic studies in Indonesia, both in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and Islamic higher education. The study of hadith at these two Islamic educational institutions has a different style. Hadith studies in pesantren are more focused on understanding the content of text (matan) of hadith by studying the traditions contained in the books of Riyad al-Salihin, Sahih al-Bukhori, Sahih Muslim and other books. Meanwhile, the study of hadith in Islamic higher education has experienced rapid development by focusing on the study of methodological mastery, for example, sanad and matan research methodologies. The books that are used as references are also more varied, such as the book of the tarikh al-ruwat, al-jarh wa al-ta'dil, rijal al-hadith, and other contemporary hadith books. This study aims to comprehensively reveal the development of hadith studies in these two Islamic educational institutions. This type of research is field research (field research). The data were collected by conducting a direct search in the field through the methods of interview, observation, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed and presented in a qualitative descriptive manner using a phenomenological approach. The research found that the study of hadith in Islamic boarding schools and Islamic higher education had different tendencies. These two tendencies need to be mapped so that they can be used as a model in comprehensively studying the Prophet's hadith.

Abstract

Hadith is frequently the subject of research by Muslim academics and Westerners. Both Muslim academics and orientalists have debated the legitimacy of the hadith for a long time. Jonathan AC Brown is a western Muslim scholar who contributes to rationally explaining the study of hadith so that it is easily accepted by beginners; his work demonstrates his commitment to the study of Islamic studies. This study follows a library research approach in which Jonathan Brown's book "Hadith: Muhammad's Legacy in the Medieval and Modern World" is utilized as the primary reference source, which is then supplemented with scholarly publications and journals on Jonathan Brown. The author used the descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings of this study, a hadith is a report about the Prophet consisting of the main text that describes his words or actions, the way of transmission (isnad) that serves to convey, and finally the giver. The authority of Muhammad is that of a Prophet who functions as a teacher, leader, and role model, as well as someone who has knowledge of the future. However, because the Prophet was an ordinary person, he did not have full authority in some matters.[Hadis dan Otoritas Nabi Muhammad: Pemahaman Jonathan A.C. Brown. Hadis sering menjadi bahan kajian yang tidak hanya dilakukan oleh sarjana muslim, namun juga barat. Berbagai pro dan kontra akan keaslian hadis telah lama berkembang, baik sarjana muslim maupun orientalis. Jonathan A.C Brown, merupakan sarjana muslim barat yang berkontribusi dalam menjelaskan kajian hadis secara rasional sehingga mudah diterima kaum pemula, karya yang dihasilkannya merupakan bukti keseriusan dalam kajian studies islamic.  Penelitian ini merupakan model penelitian kepustakaan (library reseach) dimana, buku “Hadith: Muhammad’s legacy in the medieval and modern world” Brown dijadikan sebagai sumber rujukan utama, kemudian didukung oleh karya ilmiah dan jurnal yang berkaitan dengan Jonathan Brown. Penulis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hadis adalah adalah laporan tentang Nabi, yang terdiri dari teks utama untuk menjelaskan kata- kata atau tindakannya, rantai transmisi (isnad) yang berufngsi untuk mengkomunikasikan, kemudian penyampai. Otoritas Muhammad merupakan seorang Nabi yang memiliki peran sebagai guru, panutan, dan teladan, dan seseorang yang mampu memiliki akses mengetahui masa depan. Akan tetapi Nabi adalah seorang manusia biasa sehingga tidak secara keseluruhan menjadi otoritatif dalam beberapa hal.]

Abstract

The use of perfume among Muslim women has sparked debate due to prophetic traditions (hadiths) prohibiting it. This article reexamines the interpretation of these hadiths, which, when understood literally, contradict contemporary contexts. Initially associated with negative connotations, perfume has evolved into a symbol of self-respect and consideration for others. This qualitative study employs a literature-based research design, utilizing primary sources from hadith collections and secondary sources from books, journals, and related research. The study aims to reevaluate the prohibition's meaning within relevant contexts. Nashr Hamid' Abu Zayd's hermeneutics is guided by extracting three principles, namely dalalah, maghza and maskut 'anhu. Applying Nashr Hamid Abu Zayd's hermeneutics, the research reveals that Islamic teachings permit perfume use if it doesn't cause disturbance and promotes environmental comfort. The signification of the hadith is that Islam teaches not to have an excessive attitude, care about environmental cleanliness and respect for others. The dimension of  unrelated dimension is the excessive use of perfume and with the wrong intention, such as flirting with the opposite sex is prohibited. Furthermore, excessive or malicious perfume use, particularly for seduction, is prohibited due to its potential harm and exploitation of women.[Penggunaan parfum untuk perempuan telah menjadi perdebatan karena adanya hadis yang melarangnya. Artikel ini membahas tentang pemahaman dalam pamaknaan kembali atas hadis yang melarang penggunaan parfum untuk wanita. Hadis tersebut apabila dipahami secara tekstual bertolak belakang dengan kondisi sekarang. Parfum yang mulanya dikaitkan sebagai identitas “pezina” dengan fungsi yang buruk, kemudian bergeser menjadi tanda untuk menghormati diri sendiri dan sekitar. Penelitian ini berupa penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis data studi pustaka. Data diperoleh dari sumber primer berupa kitab hadis. Sedangkan sumber sekunder adalah berupa buku, jurnal, dan penelitian yang terkait dengan tulisan ini.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kembali makna pelarangan penggunaan parfum agar sesuai dengan konteks yang relevan. Penulis menggunakan hermenutika  Nashr Hamid Abu Zayd sebagai pisau bedahnya. Hermenutika dari Nashr  berpedoman pada penggalian tiga prinsip: dalalah (original meaning), maghza (signifikasi), dan maskut ‘anhu (makna tersembunyi). Berdasarkan pada perangkat hermenutika Nashr, penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwasa hadis tentang larangan penggunaan parfum untuk wanita memiliki makna bahwa penggunaan parfum diperbolehkan selama tidak menimbulkan bau yang menyengat dan memiliki tujuan untuk membuaat kenyamanan lingkungan sekitar. Sedangkan maghza dari hadis tersebut adalah Islam mengajarkan untuk tidak memiliki sikap berlebihan, peduli dengan kebersihan lingkungan dan menghormati orang lain. Adapun dimensi dari maskut ‘anhu adalah penggunaan parfum yang berlebihan dan dengan niat yang salah adalah dilarang karena madharat. Selain itu untuk mencegah eksploitasi terhadap perempuan].

Abstract

This article aims to explore the characteristics of educators depicted in the Hadith of the Prophet. Educators in this era are faced with various challenges, which require them to have strong qualities in order to guide students according to the provisions of Allah SWT. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through the literature study method. The research results show that the ideal characteristics of educators in the hadith involve the presence of deep compassion in the process of educating students, justice, a democratic approach, and dedication to providing motivation and clarity in conveying knowledge to those who need it. Through the application of these characteristics, it is hoped that the goal of education can be achieved, namely developing the potential of students so that they become individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, creative, independent, and can become democratic and responsible citizens. Abstract
