Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to study the effect of organic matter residue on the growth and production of long bean. This research was conducted at the Rahandouna Subdistrict, Kendari District, Southeast Sulawesi Province from March to June 2010. The research was prepared in randomized block design consisted of four levels: without organic matter (B0), residue of organic matter application at 5 ton ha-1 (B1), residue of organic matter application at 10 ton ha-1 (B2), and residue of organic matter application 15 ton ha-1 (B3). The variables observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, pod length, pod number, dan  pod fresh weight. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze statistical data. Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was applied to determine the significant difference among treatments at 95%   confident level. The results of the research showed that, (1) The Residue of organic matter15 ton ha-1 partially had an effect on leaf area, leaf number, plant height, pod length, pod fresh weight., (2) The Residue of organic matter 15 ton ha-1  partially had an effect on increased pod length, pod number, and pod fresh weight of long bean. Key Words : Effect, Residual, Organic Matter

Abstract

Abstract Citrus Vein  Phloem Degeneration (CVPD) is  one  of  the  most important diseases of citrus. Worldwide and national yield losses of citrus production due to this disease infection have been very significant.   This research ultimately aimed at producing citrus stocks through in-vitro culture, and free of CVPD.  Citrus seeds were used as explant and cultured on MS and WPM in-vitro media, supplemented with malt extract. Citrus plantlets were tested for the presence of  CVPD DNA using CVPD specific primers in PCR reactions.   Research results showed that MS basal medium supplemented with malt extract was quite good for in- vitro production of citrus plantlets. Plantlets were negative for CVPD infection based on PCR tests.  CVPD-free seedlings (Citrus reticulata) have been grafted with citrus rootstock (Citrus sinensis).  Grafted citrus seedlings were also proven to be negative for CVPD infection based on similar PCR tests.  Citrus seedlings/stocks produced by in-vitro culture, and free of CVPD, are now available for further growth. Keywords: Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration (CVPD), in-vitro culture, PCR

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi hasil genotipe mutan (M3) padi beras merah (Oryza sativa L.) Inpago Unram 1. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan November 2022 di Desa Saribaye, Kecamatar Lingsar, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dan percobaan dilapangan. Percobaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan jumlah perlakuan yaitu 7 perlakuan yang terdiri dari lima mutan padi Inpago Unram 1 dan dua varietas pembanding. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dengan taraf nyata 5%, kemudian perlakuan yang berbeda nyata diuji lebih lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan genotipe D3G20(2) memiliki hasil yang lebih tinggi (9,02 ton/hektar) dibandingkan dengan semua perlakuan yang diuji lainnya kecuali dengan varietas pembanding Inpago Unram 1.

Abstract

Research aims to determine changes in genotype characters that appear in the second generation Baas Selem (Oryza sativa L.) mutant (M2) resulting from gamma irradiation. This research was conducted from May to September 2021 in Nyur Lembang Village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara using an Expansion Randomized Block Design (RAK). The treatments used were 26 treatments consisting of 24 mutant plant genotypes and 2 control plants were tested using analysis of variance at the 5% level, then the significant results were tested further using the partition design RAK model. If there is a significant difference between the treatments, a follow-up test is carried out using the BNT test at the 5% level. Based on the results of a one-way analysis of variance for the characters tested from the 26 treatments (24 mutant plant lines namely G23, G87, G46, G65, G15, G34, G39, G5, G61, G54, G22, G74, G41, G72, G85 , G82, G39, G7, G141, G75, G62, G42, G81, and G21, 1 Baas Selem parent and 1 comparison variety, Inpago Unram, showed differences in genotypic characters on parameters of panicle length and number of empty grain per panicles. Abstract

Batu Kumbung Village is a village located in Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency which is famous for its extensive agricultural land and the village with the largest number of cattle. The large number of livestock causes serious environmental problems caused by livestock waste that is not managed properly. This service is carried out with the aim of providing information, solutions and practices for managing livestock waste into more useful products such as compost. The making of compost was carried out in June and took place in one of the residents' houses which had a cow shed, and the target of this service was all residents of Batu Kumbung Village who had cattle. Compost is made using the fermentation method using EM4. The materials used are cow dung, straw and apu-apu weed. EM4 (Effective Microorganisms) is a mixture of beneficial microorganisms and can speed up the fermentation process. The addition of straw and apu-apu weed aims to balance the C/N ratio levels in compost fertilizer. Cow dung contains the nutrients 0.33% nitrogen, 0.11% phosphorus, 0.13% potassium and 0.26% calcium which makes cow dung suitable for use as compost. Information regarding the content of cow manure was conveyed to the residents of Batu Kumbung Village by the service team. The process of making compost fertilizer is also practiced directly by the community service team in Batu Kumbung Village. The practice of making compost fertilizer is done by mixing dried cow dung, straw and apu-apu weed, then stirring it and placing it in a pile, after which it is sprayed using EM4 solution. This service can provide information about the content of cow dung as well as solutions for managing cow dung waste into useful products.

Abstract

Superior varieties of Inpago Unram I along with cultivation technology and empowering farmer groups in rural areas are needed in order to maintain national rice self-sufficiency. The problem encountered in Gapoktan Mata Air 2 Suranadi Village is that they are not yet familiar with the Inpago Unram I variety. The purpose of the activity is to increase participants' knowledge and skills about Inpago Unram I rice cultivation applications. The method used is the training method followed by practical work in the field and participatory action research in the field from preparation to harvest. The stages of the activity include counseling and field laboratory practice (Demplot) on 4:1 legowo planting, use of optimum seedling age on a land area of 10 ares. Evaluation to measure the success of this activity is carried out through pre-tests and post-tests of participants and participant responses to the implementation of field practice. The training activity began with the delivery of material by the community service team about Inpago Unram I Red Rice as Functional Rice and the application of its cultivation technology, which was continued with discussion. During the counseling activity, participants were actively involved. This was shown by various questions asked by participants during the discussion. The activity was continued with practical work in the field from preparation to harvest. Based on the results of the activity, it was concluded that there was an increase in the capacity of training participants through increased knowledge and skills of participants about Padi Inpago Unram I as a functional rice quality seed based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, namely from 58.5% to 88.5% and the activeness of participants during the extension. The increase in the skills of training participants was shown by the active involvement of participants in the demonstration plot by practicing rice cultivation techniques with the 4:1 legowo row system at a seedling age of 18 days.

Abstract

The G10 line and the Baas Selem cultivar were mutated with gamma rays to correct their deficiencies and observed in the first to third generation mutants, then planted again for the fourth generation (M4) but still experiencing segregation. Therefore, research was conducted by characterizing the agronomic properties of black rice in order to obtain superior varieties. This research was conducted in March-November 2023 in Saribaye Village, West Lombok. The method used is an experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 22 treatments with 3 replications, namely 20 mutant genotypes (10 Baas Selem mutants and 10 G10 lines). This research starts from the nursery, transplanting, maintenance to harvest. The results of the study showed that there were differences in the quantitative characteristics of the mutant (M4) of black rice (Baas Selem Mutant and G10 line) with the comparison plants (SP Control and Inpari-32) in terms of plant height, total number of tillers, panicle length, number of filled grains per panicle, number of empty grains per panicle, and weight of grain per hill. The G10 mutant line in the G18 genotype was superior in the characters of panicle length (28.46 cm), number of filled grains per panicle (169.60 grains), and weight of filled grain per hill (49.63 grams). The G10 mutant line in the G18 genotype was superior in panicle length (28.46 cm), number of filled grains per panicle (169.60 grains), and weight of filled grains per clump (49.63 grams).

Abstract

Keragaman genetik, fenotipe dan heritabilitas sangat penting diketahui dalam melakukan seleksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman genetik, fenotipe dan heritabilitas beberapa genotipe pada mutan (M3) padi beras hitam galur G10. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan percobaan di lapangan. Percobaan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai November 2022 diesa Saribaye, Kecamatan Lingsar, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 10 perlakuan (7 genotipe galur G10 generasi ketiga, 3 perlakuan sebagai pembanding). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 30 unit percobaan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian (ANOVA); selanjutnya dihitung nilai keragaman genetik, fenotipik dan heritabilitas. Hasil menunjukkan, bahwa keragaman genetik kriteria luas pada semua karakter kecuali bobot 100 butir, dan bobot gabah hampa per rumpun, sedangkan keragaman fenotipik semua karakter menunjukkan kriteria tergolong luas. Heritabilitas kriteria tinggi diperoleh pada karakter umur panen, tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan produktif, panjang malai, dan warna perikarp butir biji padi. Heritabilitas kriteria sedang pada karakter jumlah anakan non produktif, jumlah gabah berisi per malai, bobot gabah berisi per rumpun, dan bobot gabah hampa per rumpun Heritabilitas kriteria rendah pada karakter jumlah gabah hampa per malai dan bobot 100 butir.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the heritability value in the broad sense of several quantitative traits of black rice lines and to determine the correlation coefficient value between quantitative traits and the yield of black rice rice resulting from mutation induction. This research was carried out from March to August 2023 in Saribaye Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 25 treatments with 3 replications, namely 15 Baas Selem mutants and 10 G10 strains. Observation data were analyzed using analysis of variance with a level of 5%. The research results show that the heritability value is one trait in the high category, namely plant height, while four traits have medium heritability values, namely panicle length, number of filled grains per panicle, number of empty grains per panicle, weight of 100 grains, and weight of filled grains per hill, as well as three Traits with low heritability are the number of productive offspring, the number of non-productive offspring, and the total number of offspring. Quantitative traits had a positive genotypic correlation with yield, namely plant height, number of productive tillers, panicle length and weight of 100 grains, while the total number of tillers had a negative genotypic correlation.

Abstract

Food security and sustainability are facing challenges due to the increase in population and the large amount of dry land that has not been optimized for utilization. Rice cultivated in paddy fields is a problem that must be considered. The use of local varieties should be further studied because it is one of the efforts to increase plant productivity against drought stress. This study aims to assess the anatomical and physiological responses of M5 mutant G16 red rice from gamma irradiation to drought stress in the vegetative phase. The method used was experimental method with field experiments. The experiment was conducted from November 2023 to July 2024 at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram. The experimental design used was Faktorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, the first factor is drought stress consisting of 33% Field Capacity (K1), 66% Field Capacity (K2), 100% Field Capacity (K3) and the second factor is genotype consisting of Inpago Unram (P1), MD200-G13-18-16 (P2), MD300-G20-16-9-5 (P3), MD200-G24-17-10 (P4), MD300-G27-8-3-5 (P5). The result of this study show that MD200-G24-17-10 (P4) was the most responsive genotype to drought stress conditions in the vegetative phase. This was indicated by a decrease in stomatal density and chlorophyll content, as well as an increase in xylem diameter and stele diameter.
