Abstract

Digital storytelling is a proven pedagogy for fostering student expression, but its potential is being redefined by generative artificial intelligence (AI). While AI offers unprecedented tools for creating visual and narrative assets, its specific impact on the creativity and engagement of middle school learners requires empirical investigation. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of integrating generative AI into digital storytelling projects on the creativity and engagement levels of middle school students compared to traditional digital methods. A quasi-experimental, pre-test/post-test design was conducted with 120 middle school students. The intervention group used generative AI tools to create story assets, while the control group used standard digital tools. Creativity was assessed using a standardized rubric, and engagement was measured with the Student Engagement Instrument (SEI). The intervention group showed statistically significant gains in creativity metrics, particularly in originality and elaboration (p < .01). This group also reported significantly higher levels of cognitive and behavioral engagement compared to the control group (p < .05). Integrating generative AI into digital storytelling projects serves as a powerful catalyst, enhancing both the creative output and the active engagement of middle school learners. The technology acts as a creative partner, enabling students to realize more ambitious narrative visions.

Abstract

Self-talk is a critical cognitive process that influences emotional regulation, mental health, and overall well-being, making it a valuable tool in counseling practices. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to examine the role of self-talk in therapeutic settings, focusing on its impact on emotional regulation and psychological resilience within frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). A total of 28 peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024 were systematically analyzed using PRISMA guidelines to identify thematic trends and empirical patterns. The findings reveal a consistent increase in research on self-talk interventions over the last decade, highlighting their effectiveness in enhancing emotional stability, reducing anxiety and depression, and improving coping strategies. However, challenges remain in terms of clients’ resistance to cognitive restructuring, subjective variability in self-talk measurement, and the lack of standardized assessment tools. Future studies are encouraged to explore technology-based interventions and cross-cultural adaptations to improve accessibility and personalization. Abstract

The study of Aqidah has been found to be of great importance in the education of students. The scope of Aqidah that allows students to form noble morals will result in them becoming qualified humans in all aspects of life. From the perspective of Aqidah, which plays a role in the formation of human morals, it can be said that humans can avoid despicable morals as a manifestation of the teachings of Islamic Aqidah. The morals derived from the Qur'an and hadith serve as the foundation for the development of spiritual values, which in turn produce quality generations. Aqidah and morals are inextricably linked; noble morals serve as a reflection of a person's personality and can elevate one's status. Moral education can be considered a form of moral education within the context of Islamic education. The objective of this study is to examine the learning of moral creed among students at XYZ School, and to assess the efficacy of this learning in fostering the formation of religious character. The study employs a multi-methodological approach, including observational techniques, in-depth interviews, and the analysis of documentary materials. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of moral creed learning at XYZ School has a significant impact on fostering the realization of student morals. The cultivation of character education is a value that should be embraced as a foundation of nationhood, as it serves as a cornerstone for Indonesian children to cultivate the requisite qualities to thrive as citizens of a nation, in alignment with the character values that are reflective of the nation's cultural heritage.. It is a highly effective approach that enables students to learn how to have morals towards themselves, to parents, to fellow friends, and to the wider community, which can be applied in everyday life.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a critical component of children’s personal and academic development, enabling them to engage actively in learning and social interactions. Elementary school students with low self-confidence often face challenges in expressing themselves, participating in group activities, and achieving academic success. This study investigates the effectiveness of group counseling in enhancing self-confidence among elementary school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group. The sample consisted of 60 students identified as having low self-confidence, divided equally into an experimental group that received group counseling sessions and a control group following standard classroom activities. Data were collected through self-confidence questionnaires, behavioral observation sheets, and teacher interviews. The findings revealed a significant increase in self-confidence scores in the experimental group compared to the control group. Students in the experimental group demonstrated greater willingness to participate in discussions, share ideas, and take initiative in various school activities. These results confirm that group counseling effectively fosters a supportive environment where students can build self-assurance through peer interaction and guided facilitation. The study concludes that group counseling is a valuable tool for addressing self-confidence issues and recommends its broader implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Measuring the effectiveness of counseling interventions is essential for ensuring the quality and impact of therapy programs. However, assessing therapeutic outcomes can be challenging due to the subjective nature of mental health improvements and the diversity of therapeutic approaches. A data-driven approach offers an opportunity to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of these programs, enabling a more objective assessment of therapy outcomes. This study aims to develop and implement a data-driven model for measuring the outcomes of counseling interventions. The goal is to provide a structured and reliable method to assess the effectiveness of therapy programs across various mental health conditions. A mixed-methods approach was used, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were collected using standardized mental health assessment tools such as the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) to track changes in clients' mental health over time. Additionally, qualitative data from client feedback and therapist evaluations were analyzed using thematic analysis to capture subjective experiences. Statistical analysis was performed to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the interventions. The data-driven approach demonstrated significant improvements in mental health outcomes across various counseling interventions. Clients reported reductions in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, with quantitative scores showing consistent improvements. Qualitative feedback further supported these findings, with clients highlighting increased emotional resilience and coping strategies as key benefits of the therapy programs. A data-driven approach to measuring counseling outcomes provides a reliable and comprehensive way to assess the effectiveness of therapy interventions. This model can be used to improve the quality of mental health services and guide the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.
