Abstract

This research focuses on the lack of self-regulation in students during the learning process. Students who have good self-control skills will be able to solve the problems they face. Parental treatment and gender are important factors in student self-control. The level of self-control demonstrated by individuals can vary based on their gender and the way they were raised by their parents. Variations in student self-control are shaped by many internal and external influences. Students' self-control allows them to effectively manage and regulate their behavior in the learning process, preventing them from giving in to temptation and engaging in negative or deviant actions. This research examines parental treatment and gender to analyze student self-control. This ex post facto research used a 3 x 2 factorial design. Students of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Ar-raniry were the research population. Proportional random sampling was used. The instrument used was a questionnaire with validity test results > 0.304 and reliability test results for the self-control instrument were 0.903 and the parental treatment variable was 0.933. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. The results of research on the interaction between the variables parental treatment and gender, the Fcount value obtained was 0.238, so it can be concluded that Fcount < Ftable, in accordance with the criteria for hypothesis testing via Anava, so this shows there is no interaction between parental treatment and gender. Gender in influencing students' self-control in learning.

Abstract

Karakter merupakan, sifat, sikap atau kebiasaan yang mendarah daging. tidak dapat dibentuk dari kebiasaan. Pada saat yang sama, kebiasaan itu sendiri hanyalah buah dari pemikiran manusia. Dari semula, manusia mengembangkan kebiasaan-kebiasaan tertentu, namun dalam perkembangan selanjutnya, manusia dibentuk menurut kebiasaannya sendiri. Artikel ini berfokus pada pembentukan karakter pada anak melalui metode pembacaan  Al-Qur'an melalui tadris ramadhan. Metode ini dipilih karena cerita-cerita Al-Quran mengandung hikmah yang mudah diserap oleh anak-anak sehingga dapat mempengaruhi pola pikir yang berujung pada perubahan kebiasaan kemudian mengubah pola pikir dan kebiasaan sehingga anak menjadi generasi Al-Qur'an. Proses pengembangan karakter menurut Al-Qur'an meliputi identifikasi karakter, pemahaman, penerapan, pembiasaan, penanaman, penyerapan. Melalui pendidikan karakter ini diharapkan akan lahir manusia yang mempunyai kebebasan menentukan pilihannya sendiri tanpa paksaan dan penuh rasa tanggung jawab. Yakni manusia yang mandiri, dinamis, kreatif, inovatif dan bertanggung jawab terhadap Tuhan, diri sendiri, umat, masyarakat, bangsa dan negara.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the fact that several USK students still cannot read the Quran and do not understand the correct Makhraj of letters and the laws of tajwid. Therefore. USK has a UP3AI (Islamic Religion Course Development Unit) program, a companion program development unit for Islamic religious courses aimed at forming a Quranic generation with noble character. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the UP3AI program in improving USK students' ability to read the Quran and its impact on moral formation. The research method uses a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative). The results show that the program's effectiveness is not optimal due to constraints on time discipline, communication, and mentor abilities, and it is said to be effective if the learning process between mentors and students has gone well. Then there is the quality of teaching the Quran, both in the mosque and the Musalla; there is no stable teaching method, limited hours of teaching the Quran, the elimination of the teaching curriculum, the influence of television shows, and others that cause the success of this program not to be achieved. In addition, the impact on student morals is not significant.

Abstract

Storytelling memiliki urgensi dan relevansi tinggi dalam pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) karena berperan sebagai media pembelajaran aktif, kreatif, dan integratif yang mendukung perkembangan kognitif, bahasa, sosial-emosional, serta penanaman nilai-nilai moral dan agama. Namun, implementasinya di lapangan, khususnya di Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini (PIAUD), belum optimal akibat keterbatasan literasi pedagogis dan kurangnya pelatihan guru. Tujuan utama artikel ini adalah menelaah konsep, teori, dan temuan empiris terkait storytelling di PAUD dengan fokus pada peran strategis guru PIAUD. Kajian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelusuran literatur dari artikel jurnal, buku akademik, dan dokumen kebijakan, yang dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola, gap, dan rekomendasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sangat menentukan keberhasilan storytelling, tetapi masih menghadapi tantangan dalam integrasi nilai agama dan budaya lokal, serta pemanfaatan media yang inovatif. Artikel ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya literatur dengan menekankan pentingnya penguatan kapasitas guru melalui pelatihan storytelling berbasis konteks. Kajian ini merekomendasikan penelitian lanjutan berbasis lapangan untuk mengembangkan model pelatihan storytelling yang aplikatif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan PIAUD.

Abstract

This study examines the role of school principals in managing academic supervision to improve the competence of junior high school (SMP) teachers in the Seunagan sub-district. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis at several schools in Seunagan Rayal district. The results show that academic supervision is carried out regularly based on a planned schedule and includes pre-observation meetings, classroom visits, and follow-up feedback. Supervision focuses on helping teachers improve in areas such as lesson planning, subject knowledge, teaching methods, and classroom management. Thematic analysis showed that teachers improved in five main areas: planning, managing learning, mastering material, using methods effectively, and working with others. About 75% of teachers said they became more confident in teaching, and 68% became more reflective after being supervised. School principals also reported a 60% improvement in teaching quality. The study concludes that supervision, when done consistently and collaboratively, helps teachers grow professionally and supports better learning outcomes in line with national education policies like Merdeka Belajar.

Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) play a pivotal role in shaping students' character and moral behavior. However, recent years have seen a rise in negative behaviors among students, including lack of discipline, verbal bullying, and exposure to inappropriate content. This study aims to examine the implementation of group counseling services based on educational communication in reducing deviant behavior at Pesantren Modern Al-Manar, Aceh Besar. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that group counseling at the pesantren is conducted systematically through halaqah sessions, guided discussions, and reflective meetings with mentoring teachers. The approach emphasizes reflection, emotional support, and the internalization of Islamic values rather than punitive measures. Islamic teachings form the foundation of each session, incorporating lessons from the Prophet Muhammad’s character and the principles of tazkiyah (self-purification). While this model effectively mitigates negative behavior, challenges remain, particularly the shortage of trained facilitators and limited physical resources. The study concludes that a collaborative and religious-based group counseling approach serves as a relevant and adaptable character-building model that can be replicated in other Islamic educational institutions. These findings contribute to the development of contextual counseling practices in pesantren and offer practical insights for policy-making in character education grounded in local values and Islamic spirituality

Abstract

Self-talk is a critical cognitive process that influences emotional regulation, mental health, and overall well-being, making it a valuable tool in counseling practices. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to examine the role of self-talk in therapeutic settings, focusing on its impact on emotional regulation and psychological resilience within frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). A total of 28 peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024 were systematically analyzed using PRISMA guidelines to identify thematic trends and empirical patterns. The findings reveal a consistent increase in research on self-talk interventions over the last decade, highlighting their effectiveness in enhancing emotional stability, reducing anxiety and depression, and improving coping strategies. However, challenges remain in terms of clients’ resistance to cognitive restructuring, subjective variability in self-talk measurement, and the lack of standardized assessment tools. Future studies are encouraged to explore technology-based interventions and cross-cultural adaptations to improve accessibility and personalization.
